cbr046
Separating? I think that train left the station. If you do the work yourself you can buy a ready to install awning. Just be very careful when you release the screws on the drum (big spring inside). YouTube is your friend! - bob
Gary 05 AMB DST
Pull the covers and ends off of the slide's topper roll up and put some screws in the roll up so the roll won't up and maybe break the spring. Like Bob said, the party's over, save what's left. Gary 05 AMB DST

Gary 05 AMB DST
The purpose of the topper is to keep branches and other objects off the top of the slide. If you can control the topper getting rolled up and locked, you can still use the slide but that last piece that is holding the topper to the MH is done. There is a piece of 3/8 diameter nylon that slides into the slot with the topper to keep it attached to the motor home. Solution Tom Cherry Posted April 11, 2023 Solution Share Posted April 11, 2023 9 hours ago, 96 EVO said: Like others have said, that fabric is done! Call or contact Stone Vos for a replacement fabric. Chris Throgmartin and his Stove Vos company made my toppers and used Vinyl in 2015 after the Sunbrella OEM's failed and the stitching was failing. They are in great shape. He has expanded and designed Guardian Plates for slide repair....and now has a RV repair operation... https://stonevos.com/ http://talinrv.com/ https://talinman.com/guardianplates/ @throgmartin You can contact Chris by PM'ing him the websites above... 96 EVO
I would watch him do it. You will probably be faced with the same situation on other slides in the near future! Not a hard job, but you do need to know how to 'pin' the roller, before removing. I can change 3 of the 4 of mine single handed. Also, while the topper is off, take a good look at the tar tape around the perimeter of the slide roof! If it needs attention, now's the time to do it!
