I haven't had to purchase any filters for my Dynasty yet. I'd like to get a replacement air filter.  Anyone have a recommendation for a good vendor/supplier?

I see that they are available on Amazon, however they appear to be damaged frequently upon receipt.

Would be interested in reputable fuel and oil filter vendors as well.

They have CURRENT stock of most any filter.  Most importantly the products have recent manufactured dates!  There prices are also good.  Ship UPS.

Just my recent experience and will buy there in the future.

The prices for the Donaldson P537448 Air Filter are all over the map so I just pick the best one with shipping.

I purchased both fuel and oil filters from Amazon last spring. They had the best prices for Fleetgard with free shipping.

X2 on prices, they are all over the place and change.

I used Goggle shopping "Froogle.com" and do a search and then compare and sort by price.  Big range but the best price is from Amazon $159

I believe this is the same filter I use and in the past have purchased Baldwin filter.  If you have a preference you can do a cross reference search for different brand.  I have a filter minder on my coach but have never really seen it indicate I need to change a filter so I just change every ~3 years.

NAPA wanted much more than everyone else for my air filter (although they had it in stock), I ordered from Fleetguard (free shipping over a certain $$$ amount - the air filter covered it). Arrived in a couple of days (fedex or ups).

I second the Baldwin recommendation. I just replaced mine with a Baldwin RS3548. I paid 60.00 for it. It had a carquest filter in it and the price on that was 159.00. I use Amazon for most everything however I do comparison shop with Google shopping also.

How did you pull that off?

That filter is not a Ecolite filter.

*edit* Now I recall Monaco built a few diesel models with permanent air filter housings! You may be one of the lucky ones.

The rest of us are now paying $200+ for our disposable can filters!

Glad you edited and explained. I was gonna ask you what an ecolite filter was .LOL  I just purchased my coach and I am going through and bringing it up to my standards, it needs a lot of TLC. Believe it or not it had a birds nest in the old filter. The date written on the end of the filter was 2015. Forgot to add that I have a Donaldson Filter housing.

After you remove the old filter element, reach in with a clean, damp towel, to remove any dust that may have gotten past the filter!

Everything needs to be meticulous clean when your dealing with your air intake, past the filter!

I chased my tail on many filter sources, like Amazon (selling counterfeit Chinese crap) and eventually ended up at my local FleetPride dealer with the Monster Air Filter from Hell. (Donaldson). Yup they had 2 in stock. Give them a try!

On my last trip I drove several dirt roads with the dust boiling up behind the coach.  Last time I checked my engine oil level I actually saw the filter minder showing a little red, that's the first time that ever happened. 

So I went ahead and changed the air filter after I got home.  There was a LOT of dirt/dust in the filter but I took the time to remove the elbows and large crossover pipe and checked, overall pretty clean, I did spray it down with some brake cleaner and wiped all the internal surfaces I could reach.   Just for fun I turned the air filter upside down and dropped it a couple time to see how much dirt was in it,            HINT>>>> quite a bit, see picture  

But the filter did it's job.  Working in the mines I've seen filters so plugged and pulling such a vacuum the rubber elbows would collapse and engine would struggle.  That's why I make sure all the elbows are in tact and clamps tight, don't want to dust an engine (and I've seen dusted engines). 

One thing I also found, and couldn't see it from the rear engine hatch, was that the sound proofing on the drivers side had peeled off the fiberglass enclosure.  I had a couple cans of the HD 3M spray adhesive and sprayed liberal amounts on both sides and after waiting pushed the sound proofing back into place.  Just something else to look at in the future.  I had to have the step up hatch cover to get to the front of the area so while I had it off I lubed the pacbrake using the test button I installed a couple months ago to check it's action.  All good.  I used the heck out the PacBrake on my last trips, as I criss crossed the mountains from WA, OR, CA and back home.  Worked like a charm.

Can you please describe the “test button”?
Also? What lubricant did you use on the pac brake and what’s the lube process please?

The "test" button is on the top of the Air Filter Minder in the engine compartment.

I used Tri-Flow to lubricate the PacBrake. PacBrake does sell its own brand of lubricant also.

Ok now I understand the test button reference!


Tri-flow seems to offer several types of lubricants. Can someone kindly be a bit more specific please?

Lastly, can you please tell me how to insert a photo into these communiques as you just did?

When I first bought my rig and going through everything I pulled the filter minder off and tested it by pulling a vacuum on it, it indicator would not move and it should have.  Looking at it closely I found that bottom had multiple hair line cracks that would allow enough air flow that the indicator would not move.  So mixed up some epoxy and poured it on the surface and let it cure, that solved the problem.  But a couple years ago while working on my rig I broke the filter minder off and had to replace.  Small price to pay for piece of mind. 

I had been using the triflow lube for my PacBrake until last year when another member looked at the spec's and the temp rating was quite a bit lower then the PacBrake lube.  So just went ahead and bought a bottle, it will last me the rest of the time I own the coach.  Last year I also added a test button so I can test and observe the PacBrake work.  Pretty simple, simple momentary button, found a power source on the preheat panel, and just tapped into the wire going to the solenoid.  Now I can lube it and press the button a couple time and confirm it operates and retracts as it should.  He's a thread
