Do a search.  Put STEPS as key word.  Click on Everywhere.  Select FILES from the dropdown.  Do the search you most LIKEY have CoachStep.  Download the Coachstep file. There is a simple trouble shooting guideline in the back.  4 steps(memory.  That will tell you exactly what is wrong.

Good Luck.  NOW if you have Kwikee….you can look at the Coach Step pictures….odds are CoachStep.  But if Kwikee, then do the search again and select the Kwikee  file.  All in there.

Lippert that sells Kwikee steps can provide a testing harness that plugs into the connector. With this and a 12V source you can test the steps functionality without the other issues in the coach that might exist. It will help to isolate the problem area/cause.

Many of these RV's used a Ford power window motor for a 1990 Taurus. I am getting one tomorrow. The part number for my Monaco is ACI83683. Not sure if this is the right number for you, but points you in a direction This could also just be a wiring problem or a control box problem. You can inspect it by airing up the front end and taking a look. Be careful to not get caught in the steps if they decide to actuate.

I have replaced the control module, and the switch on the dash.. still wont work.  I can put power directly to the motor and they will extend and retract. I have tried following the troubleshooting chart for the lippert setup but as soon as i hook up poer to the module the steps retract..not working at all automatically.  any other suggestions?

Do you have a new control module or the same as before?
The new controller uses the door switch differently. The old module needed the one type and the new one the other type. With type I mean ‘normally open’ or ‘normally closed’.
This may affect how the door reacts.

still working on my steps. have replaced the control module with same type . I have bypassed (jumped the magnetic switch) and I have power to the module. also replaced the dash switch that shuts power off to module. There is another dual contact switch in the inner door jam. Anyone know what it is for ?  Green wire and black wire there,  bypassed it and nothing. I can use the troubleshooting chart and go thru the steps it outlines and everything works but when I hook everything up again , the steps dont work.  Any ideas?

Finally found my problem. Started doing voltage drops on the connectors and found that I was losing 2.5 volts across the 4 wire connector on the power wire.  Bypassed the connector and everything works now.. Thanks for all the info from those that responded.
