  1. I have an '09 Dynasty, although I'm pretty sure most of the chassis stuff is '08. I have 12 volts to the pump at all times. PO had pulled the fuse since the pump ran all the time due to my system being plumbed wrong from the factory, the pressure switch was not in the right place and never measured tank pressure, just pressure at the output of the pump which will drop once the pump turns off even though the tank was full and up to pressure. I put in a new pump, placed the switch where it should be and installed a switch to turn the system off should I choose to do so. When cold outside it seems that the pump will run daily. In Palm Springs right now and I have not heard the pump come on once. Now that I've jinxed that it will probably come on tonight at 3 in the morning. Leaks?? yeah, most of the time you get one fixed another shows up. Good luck. Woody Miller 09 Dynasty
  2. I am having a similar problem. When cold I have no problems. When hot after driving the starter will not engage and crank the engine. Not always but most of the time. It may take several attempts to get it to crank, once it does crank it starts without a problem. I have decided after some research that it is one of the two starter solenoids. I plan to replace both and maybe the starter motor as well. Nothing worse than stopping for fuel, shutting off the engine and then waiting for the engine to start again. Last time it took about 7 or 8 attempts to start. When first thing in the morning, no problem ever, just after driving and shutting down. Doesn't make much sense. Woody Miller 09 Dynasty, ISM500
  3. Lost another hub cap. The roads suck. Beware, there is a stretch of hwy 5 around Buttonwillow in Ca where they are doing work. The south bound lanes will switch and you go left on part of the old north bound lanes. There is a sign that will say slow down, rough road. Get in the left lane and stay there. The right lane is unsafe at any speed. The potholes are big enough to hold fish and boat in. The worst of any road we have seen in North America. We lost the hub cap before we got to that stretch of road. I saw the other semi's move to the left lane ahead of me and I followed their lead and I did not have to suffer the damage that stretch of road could do to a motorhome. Just a heads up. Woody Miller
  4. Is there a system that will let you isolate and monitor a single tire? I have the EEZ system now which has been OK. But, I have recently on this trip had 3 valve extension hoses go bad. When one went bad I needed to watch how quickly I was losing air. The EEZ system rolls through all 12 tires one at a time. Not good. I wanted to know in real time what was going on with the one tire that was losing air. Is there a system that lets you isolate a tire or tires instead of "rolling" through all the tires? Last mobile tire guy that came out really opened my eyes to the extenders and how they can cause problems. He showed my how they destroy Schrader valves, the rubber tube inside the braided lines are cheap and useless. Yes, it's real pain without the extenders, but so is sitting on the side of the road waiting on the mobile tire guy to show up. The last extender that went bad was on one of the inside dually's. Removing that extender was just a ton of fun trying to get my hands between the tires. Woody Miller 09 Dynasty Regal IV
  5. Thanks to all. We have arrived at oThankur winter destination and I'll start the checking the system. The Trojans are now about 4 years old and were run down to almost death thanks to the fine folks at Cummins that had the coach in for service and it sat for a month or so and they didn't turn the batteries off. Trojan came and picked up the batteries and took them to their shop for recharging prior to needing to replace them under warranty. Their industrial charger got them back to full charge and the batteries seem to have been fine. And for the last couple of years the voltage shown on the Magnum display is over 13 volts which I would expect at full charge. We never boondock and this is the first time we tried to run on the house batteries instead of the gen since we were stuck for the night. To see a start voltage at 12.4 to run the inverter seemed way too low. Once inverting the voltage was dropping a tenth of a volt every couple of minutes. So I went to the gen for power instead of running the Trojans down to nothing overnight. We went with the Trojan 8D's, 4 of them, to be able to handle an emergency like we had when the tire went flat. By the way, on this trip we had 3 of the stainless braided valve extensions go bad. $300 in charges for mobile tire repairs to have the tires aired back up and one new Schrader valve. The remaining 3 valve extensions will soon be going in the garbage. If got a good Fluke meter so I'm going to start by comparing the Magnum readings with the Fluke. Then onto cleaning and connections and taking a close look at the Big Boy. The latching relay for the salesman switch was "jumped" some time back, but I don't think that's the problem. Magnum has great tech service so I'll be giving them a call as well. Thanks, Woody Miller
  6. After getting a flat tire while stopped for dinner we had to boondock on the side of the road for the night. I have 4 Trojan 8D AGM's and 4 Lifeline 4D AGM's which are my chassis batteries and the Trojans are house. I turn on the inverter, Magnum, and my biggest load is the residential frig installed at the factory in 09. Monitor shows the total load pulling 18-19 amps. Voltage started at 12.4 and began to drop as I watched. Turned the inverter off and ran the gen all night. So, we are midway to our winter destination where we will be for 6 months at which time I will start to determine what is wrong with the charging/battery bank(s), inverter, Big Boy BIRD or ??? Those Trojan's 8D's are big batteries, 4 should easily go for hours before the voltage is dropping below 12 volts in the matter of a few minutes when the biggest current draw is a residential refer. Add to that, the monitor is showing the charging is in a "float" state when I just drew the batteries down to just above 12 volts. Don't mind spending the money to fix it right, just don't want to spend on something that isn't the problem. Where would y'all start? Thanks, Woody Miller 09 Dynasty Regal IV PS: those TPMS systems works, it was dark after stopping for dinner and did not see the flat on the tag, and I mean flat. Bead broken and the wheel sitting on the ground. Started up to go and the monitor went off. Saved a ton on money on a new tire, wheel and the fiberglass damage had we driven off.
  7. I had the same problem. Cummins said to try Google Chrome. I don't use Google Chrome, so I'll wait till they get their act together. Woody Miller
  8. I got 8 TOYO's from "easy-tire.com". $4,000 for the 8 including all taxes and shipping right to the house by FEDEX. Got the tires in 2-3 days. Woody Miller 09 Dynasty Regal IV
  9. I replaced mine. Went fairly well. Bled a little and the language got a little salty. One thing I learned, put the mounting bolts in exactly as the old ones were and wear long sleeved shirt. Next chore is to adjust the lights. Haven't quite got that one done yet. I went with the fancy LED/projector type lights. I have two exact stock ones, brand new still in the box. They are the F250 headlamps which were used for several years. If anyone has use for them I'll sell them for 40 bucks plus the shipping costs. Woody Miller 09 Dynasty Regal IV
  10. Was there any chance you might have been out of level with the coach, causing a bind? Drawer glides are cheap enough to replace in needed. Getting good short screws to install seem to be the biggest problem. Woody Miller
  11. Dbircky, that sucks. My guess is no one in Decatur ever built any of the original Monaco's. But Valid has always been great with tech help. Doesn't make any sense. Many techs simply don't know what they are doing, no offense to the techs that do. The Valid Power Gear doesn't appear to be that complicated. I had a shop in Spokane WA do some work on my system while it was under a service plan. It looked like the coach had a "power rake" going on with the rear end clearly way above the front. They fixed it, but I couldn't believe their first attempt. I don't have a single complaint about the REV Center in Coburg except for their shop rates. One complaint about REV, you used to be able to talk with the techs over the phone, not anymore, now you leave a message or email and then wait. We were stuck with a slide that wouldn't retract and I called REV in the morning and had to leave a message. I pleaded with the girl that answered the phone explaining that we could not move without the slide coming in; "sorry, leave a message". Bullcrap. I fixed it myself after some trouble shooting. REV finally called me about 6 hours later. We were already in another state by then. It seems like today it's "customer no service" going on. But 3 days???? Bullcrap. Have you tried any of the independent shops around? Some of the truck shops know what they are doing and have worked on my Roadmaster. Good luck. Woody Miller 09 Dynasty Regal IV
  12. Welcome to the club. Coburg Oregon is your friend. MANY of the guys are still around there. The REV shop in Coburg is top notch in my book, they've helped me a lot, fixed my Kongsberg Chassis Multiplex, which for 6 months and many shops I was told it could never be fixed. There is another shop with some of the old Monaco guys and I believe the name is "Armstrong", not sure since we have never used them but one of the old Monaco guys at REV told me about them and their shop rate is more reasonable. You have a mess to be sure. We bought our coach with almost nothing in the way of records. Stuff re-wired and re-plumbed with no documentation. On our way home from buying the coach the Power Gear leveling system began to "beep". The generator quit working. The chassis and house batteries were almost dead. We traveled from Texas to Washington state listening to the "beep", did get the generator going. Long story short, if you like the floorplan and your engine is good, fix it, they don't make them like that anymore. Expensive? You bet. The more you can do yourself the better. You couldn't give me a brand new coach unless it's a Foretravel, Prevost or Newell. Oh, Marathon is also in Coburg if you wanted to trade up, but you'll need about $2 million. Good luck. 13. Frank, I would like to know what the measurement is on the Dynasty. I have a 2008 rolling chassis, coach was first sold in 2009 I guess. ISM500 was built in May of '08. Tire chart also lists it as an '08. I have a slow leak somewhere on the Power Gear leveling, again, so maybe I'll check ride height while I'm fooling around with finding the leak. One thing for sure, the coach lists to curbside in travel mode a little and I'd like to fix that. Knock on wood the dreaded Kongsberg chassis multiplex is still going strong. 14. Bob, which dish did you install? More tech lingo has left me confused. So how do you put all this together? What did you mount the dish to? And then a co-ax cable to a router? Does this dish pick up cell signals? My Cradlepoint has a LAN and WAN Ethernet ports and a USB port. Would this dish plug into one of those? or would I need a hub of sorts first? Excuse the questions, but this tech stuff is hard to get a handle on. We've dropped quite a bit of money chasing a cell/internet system to stream with. I don't mind spending the money, but I'd like to do it right the first time. The Spark did work fairly well except for the thing timing out and shutting off every 20 or 30 minutes. Cradlepoint cell/router works great with a cell signal. I'm guessing maybe that dish would amplify a cell signal? Thanks, Woody Miller 09 Dynasty Regal IV
  15. Wayne, my Dad had a rule for us kids; your choice, school or work, but you're not sitting around the house. We didn't have a summer vacation when school let out. We either went to summer school or found a job. I quit a job when I was 16 cause it involved more physical labor than I wanted to give. So my Dad took me out to the backyard to discuss the matter. I'll never forget that right hand knocking me upside the head. That was the last time I ever quit a job while I was still living at home. I never thanked him for that lesson, but I should have. 16. I have the latching relay. It died so it was bypassed. A continuous relay will drain your batteries, or burn out the coil in the relay. Latching is the only way to go. We never use the salesman switch so bypassing the relay didn't matter to us. Might replace it some day when I have nothing better to do. I did use a "continuous" duty relay one time, never again. Took a day to recharge the battery.
  17. Got all the new tires installed. The kids at the shop would in normal times put this shop out of business. What a mess. Lube oil all over the rims from the install. How long would it have taken one of those lazy kids to clean the rims? 30 minutes top. Instead I had to clean them up when I got home. I'll have to "re-do" one of the air line extenders after one of the idiots couldn't seem to get it back where it was. Just terrible sloppy work, but then what do expect when no one wants to work? Unemployment is still paying more than minimum wage so........... I guess the owner didn't care since I didn't buy the tires from him. Easy decision, $4k online vs $6.5k from him and at first he said he couldn't get them. I paid total about $500 for mounting and beads in all 8 tires. And an hour of my time cleaning the rims and 2 grand in my pocket from buying online. So yea, I rolled out of there with 8 disgusting looking rims, but that shop will never see another dollar from me. Side note: no one wants to work. Local Napa store has reduced hours and closing early due to lack of workers. Time to put the golden goose on the chopping block and cut the money off. Work or starve.
  18. I just finished my update on side view and rear view cameras and monitor. I had quite the time with the side view cameras. First ones were not side view even though there were advertised that way. Second time, different company, I got two passenger side cameras, ordered a left side which never showed up, they sent another right side (tadibrothers), then the company went silent for a month, no returned phone calls, no returned emails, nothing (their, tadibrothers, website says "24/7" customer support). I disputed the charges for tadibrothers, $300. I then went to Rear View Safety for the side cameras. Nice metal encased cameras with led's for night vision. So after disputing with tadibrothers I heard from them. If I send their cameras back they'll refund me, (the checks in the mail???) and we can resolve the dispute. I went a month without hearing from that company even though they advertise 24/7 support, so buyer beware on them. Just speaking for myself I will never go to tadibrothers for anything. On the other hand Rear View Safety has been great, great service and a really nice product. I installed the BOYO monitor, which is much better than the thing I took out. And a BOYO rear view camera. I will go with Rear View Safety if I replace the rear camera in the future. So what did I learn from this? Cheap is cheap. First side view cameras were off Amazon, Lookeeloo, or something like that. False advertised and cheap, so cheap they gave me my money back and told me to keep the cameras. Anyone want a couple cheap cameras that aren't worth the postage to send them back? Next up is tadibrothers, who promise 100% satisfaction and 24/7 support. They send two right side cameras. A call center that handles their sales answered the phone and I ordered a left side, a right side showed up. Now I have 3 right side cameras and then I can't get a return email or phone call from customer support or their sales call center, for a month. Then out of the blue a left side camera shows up. Too late, already disputed the charges. They will get all 4 of their cameras back this next week. So now I go to Rear View Safety for the cameras. Finally, fantastic company compared to the others. Got the cameras, a left and a right, and they are so far above the quality of the other stuff. They were the most expensive, but I was wasting time with the cheap crap. My simple weekend retro fit for my cameras and monitor turned into a two month ordeal. There was a slight mix up with Rear View Safety and they made that up by next day FedEx to get my cameras to me. They couldn't get in touch with me about chrome vs black on the housing color, not their fault, but they paid the freight for the overnight FedEx just to make it right. Couldn't ask for more. 19. Thanks. It would sure help if the all the internet/tech stuff was written in English. No complaints on the Cradlepoint IBR600, when there is a cell signal. We have an AT%T sim in it now, might add a T-Mobile in the second slot since they seem to be really gaining ground on the coverage and data plans. We also have a Verizon unlimited but that gets throttled down at some point. The AT&T Spark would be great if there were a work around the auto shut after 20 to 30 minutes without moving. Adding to all the confusion now is the IoT, internet of things???, who came up with that? I'm too old to keep up with all the new lingo. Woody Miller
  20. Update. Out of the blue TadiBrothers contacted me today by phone. They got the dispute from the credit card company. Almost a month of no contact from them. I gave up on them. I bought two side view cameras from Rear View Safety. Excellent company. Customer service was great. There was some mix up on their end and the cameras I wanted were not available any longer. To make things right the over knighted by FedEx to get me the cameras. Couldn't ask for anything more. Plus follow ups to make sure I was pleased with the purchase. They sure weren't the cheapest source, but the cameras look great. I must remember; "don't go broke trying to save a buck". Back to TadiBrothers. I have disputed all charges with them since I thought they had gone south. I have 3 curbside and 1 roadside camera to return to them. I will never do business with that company again and I would advise all of you to steer clear. They would like to blame all their troubles on the rona, I get it, but enough was enough, their customer no-service was bullcrap. A month? Really? Woody Miller

  22. Vanwill52, I have a Cradlepoint 600 cell router, AT&T data sim in it. So I'm wondering, how does adding this antenna help? When we have cell service the Cradlepoint alone works well with streaming movies and such. I get very confused with all the gear involved with trying to get good internet connections. Judging by Poynting, I need the MIMO-3-15 antenna. Is this a cell booster? We currently have a cell booster multidirectional antenna that is not worth more than a cow patty, if you know what I mean. So, should I go with a Poynting MIMO antenna, would it be able to take a weak cell signal and increase it to a useable level? Sorry, I just don't know much about this tech stuff. Thanks, Woody Miller
  23. I just got 8 295/80r/22.5 from "tires-easy.com" for $4k delivered to my door including all taxes, disposal fees and shipping. Came by FedEx two or three days delivery. Vito, I tried SimpleTire but was unable to get the tires from them. 90% of the online sellers list the tires, but when you put them in the cart and go to check out they come back and say "out of stock". Tires-easy claimed to have "a lot" of the Toyo's in stock, worked for me. Got an appt. to have them installed Thursday, $30 per tire, here in town. Toyo's are hard to find in the 80r size.
