  1. Are we to think that a coach without one of these cyclone vents mounted on it the OEM vent installed by Monaco would be of no value either? The alternative is simply to depend on the odors naturally floating up & out of the vent pipe. Time will tell to see if having the cyclone up there makes any noticeable difference. Stay tuned ! LOL !
  2. I was going to add a cyclone sewer vent over my 2009 Camelot QDP's black tank but I see there are 2 vents on the roof, one above the sink/shower & another above the Toilet room. While having the waste tanks power flushed today, the shop recommended installing a cyclone vent. They mounted it on the vent over the shower/sink. I thought that it should be located above the toilet. Am I right to think that the vent there is the one for the black tank?
  3. I have put bleach in my fresh water hose then hooked up to the fresh water inlet connection then turned on the water to fill the tank. This will sanitize your hose too. Another way is if you have an extra water filter housing, ensure there isn't a filter in it, put the bleach in it then connect it inline & turn on the water.
  4. I have a Roadmaster Invisibrake installed in our tow vehicle & this is an indicator light telling me that the system is activated when braking. It goes out when I release the foot brake.
  5. Just out of curiosity why would you not want to have batteries? Routine maintenance only takes a few minutes every couple of weeks......
  6. Think of all the cars & trucks crossing the stateline on a daily basis....It would be impossible to inspect & treat each one so they can't really address your 'what if" scenario. We have dealt with Japanese fruit flies in the past where certain commodities were quarantined for a period. We got through that & survived!
  7. If you look at the produce in the stores you will see that all the tree fruit is generally grown in the Kingsburg-Reedley-Dinuba area here in CA. Most of the veggies are also grown in the state so you will not have a problem.
  8. Same here years ago...went to Napa for mine.
  9. In my '09 Camelot I have a micro-switch in the compartment above the driver position & is located on the left side that toggles between the cable & the over the air inputs. I believe that using this switch enables a pre-amp for the over the air antenna signal. This doggone momentary contact switch is so small I had to ask more than once where it was located! I also don't have a video input/output control box as our previous coach did. Monaco sure could have set this up better in a more common sense configuration.
  10. I also tried numerous water pressure regulators & found them to not provide the stated water pressure or fail completely so I purchased a Watts 263A from Dave at the RV Water Filter Store. These cost a little more but should provide life time service. I have mine set at 60 psi & it works well for us.
  11. I use a 0.5 micron sediment filter followed by a 0.5 micron carbon block filter in my Camelot. A good primer to learn about water filters is at the RV Water Filter Store, https://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/filter-cartridges. You can buy filters most anywhere but Dave's site has some good info on the different types available to suit your needs.
  12. Thanks Tony....one never knows when we might need this info. I added his number to my Monaco Notes page.
  13. In our Camelot there is one in the closet at the rear of the coach plus another that was in the case containing the documentation for the coach's systems.
  14. The splitter simply allows a signal to go to two different locations. Alligator clips are common tools when maintaining & testing radio systems.
  15. Connect the center connector to the outer braid on one end then use your meter to test for connectivity across the other end. The easiest way is to use a short wire with alligator clips on each end to short the first end.
  16. We spent three months traveling the OR & WA coasts, July, Aug, & Sep, without any weather issues. Sure, we had some occasional rain but it didn't bother us. Much of the country is in need of rain so when it comes people are happy to get it. I understand that other parts of the country get significantly more wind & rain but we choose to travel to those areas. Being that it is fall, we expect the weather to make us change our plans at times. Ol' man winter is coming soon so we have to expect colder & windy conditions at times.
  17. I used heavy duty black zip ties as you suggested. Being that they are not exposed to sunlight I'm not sure that UV light will be an issue. I'll keep an eye on them though. Thanks for the tip. On my Camelot, there wasn't much usable space in front of the genset plus the windshield washer tank is mounted there so I decided to avoid damaging the hose leading to the wipers by not attempting to build a box around them. I have more usable space on top of the genset.
  18. My '09 Camelot has limited space in front of the genset so I used the space on top of it. Built a 16" x 20", 5" deep wooden box that I anchored to the generator cabinet using heavy duty zip ties where I store my 50 amp extension cord & air compressor hose. I still have a bit more room but I haven't filled it up as yet.
  19. The only sense that many folks have is what they carry in their pockets!
  20. One of the big problems is the never ending desire to build bicycle paths which are rarely used versus roads which are so badly needed. As Gary stated earlier the issue is the push to force us into using public transportation. Fuel taxes are continually going up in order to penalize those of us who don't want to "take the bus" to go camping!
  21. CA has let their roads deteriorate for so many years, then a tax proposition to fund highway improvements was passed. Once the tax was levied, the state shifts money previously allocated for roads to other uses. We are seeing some improvements but it will take years to get to where the roads should be.
  22. I have one out in our '09 Camelot that we bought last year so I was "listening in" for an answer to Patrick's question as to what bulb is needed.
  23. Harley....Two questions.....do these bulbs just pull straight out & are the LED's you used dimmable as are the halogen bulbs? I understand that the new bubs should be handled with a tissue rather than touching them directly.
  24. Each of your headlights has a number on them....look along the lower edge for a number such as this.......TYC 20-5197 R then do a search online using that number. My 09 Camelot uses headlights from a 2000 Buick Century/Regal. I looked on eBay & saw that these lights are readily available.
  25. I bought some from Amazon a while back for my bedroom slide. Anti Slip Tape – 30ft X 2" per Roll
