  1. Is there a way that the files many of you insert in your post could be done a different way? Speaking for myself but maybe many others I find it hard to open them on a iPhone. I rarely use my computer for this forum. Maybe a new thread could be started on this so others could look it up and find it. For example sake Tom’s recent attachment about the slip yoke is not an easy file to open even trying different methods.
  2. Dave thanks I think he was at the Gathering in 2022 also?
  3. Can’t tell if that’s just a shadow and hopefully it is because it looks as if the differential pc that holds the U joint in place looks broke? In either case it does look spread out.
  4. Yep I use Google Earth, coupled with the campground/resort site map also. Just interested in some newer technology. Pretty impressive stuff, especially if your traveling long distances and need to lock one in.
  5. Thanks Dennis, that’s the real life experience I was looking for with the post. One day sitting on the side of the highway is not good. A tow wouldn’t be out of the question if it came to that. I decided I’m not going to let that weigh in on my decision. I would bet those that had to settle for what a tire shop could bring out to them didn't want to do a tow off the highway🤷 Here is a great interactive tire calculator to play with. Shows std specs and has overlay options. https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=275-80r22.5-295-75r22.5
  6. Yes, that’s it. Just wanting to get a feel for what might I might encounter so that’s why I called around to some local very large tire shops that do roadside. They trying to steer me away from the 295/80 because of THEIR availability. I didn’t like the smaller option at all. So it would be best because of this obstacle to just source it yourself and go from there.
  7. The 75 or the 80 is the percentage height of the width of the tire. Multiply .75 or .80 x the width. The 80’s are taller.
  8. Thank you Tom, yes I’m aware of all that and have done the comparisons. Loads and G vs H which affects the loads and CIP. The info I’m looking for has anyone had difficulty finding 295/80’s on the rd. The couple places I called as mentioned say they don’t really keep that size for emergency rd side service. I’ve read on some threads somewhere that because that size is not so readily available, they had to buy two tires for the front when only needing the one.
  9. Yes I am shopping the big truck centers because I feel I can get their opinion on road side replacement service for that size if needed. You shouldn’t get a incorrect mph reading running the tire size that’s OE. My reading is off because of the slightly smaller incorrect tire size.
  10. Coach calls for 295/80’s finding out if needed on the rd could be hard to come by? Last owner installed 275/80’s can still handle my weight but not ideal because of CIP needed and mph offset. What experience have any of you had on the rd with a need for a 295/80 tire. I called around and most say they may only carry one or two for that need but could be a yr old or so. Trying to keep my circumference close to OE tires.
  11. I’m open to any, but really looking for real life experiences. I’ll take a look at their free trial. Thanks Martin
  12. As you discovered you can’t trust that small bubble level. I would continue to use your other level although kinda big to hall around. Maybe a inexpensive 2’ level. Doesn’t need to be perfect IMO.
  13. Just to add, I did see that CampgroundReviews.com offers a free 24hr trial.
  14. Has anyone subscribed to any of these type of websites that show views, either still or video drive thru’s of campgrounds showing the site #’s? I know you have to join this service and I believe there are a few out there. I’m sure the data base is limited but hopefully growing. What’s your experiences?
  15. If safe to do so can you buy some binoculars and look for it maybe from the outer rd? Wear a bright safety vest while your out there doing so. Retrieving it safely is an issue, but if you see it maybe the wrecker can retrieve it because he has all the emergency lights and safety gear. He could even call the trooper if that would help do it safer. Good luck.
  16. Have you recovered the drive shaft? Are you talking trans cooler hose or radiator hose? I would hope that Cummins shop would help you out. Send them some pics of your damage, that might help persuade them.
  17. Kevin just a FYI if you didn’t know SCA’s and DCA’s are the same just called something different. SCA - Supplemental Coolant Additive DCA - Diesel Coolant Additive
  18. Short answer is no, fortunately. But it did involve a radiator replacement and more. Radiator replacement had nothing to do with coolant. New coolant was just needed because of the radiator work.
