  1. Chris Throgmartin developed the Guardian plates to solve the sealing problems on the Monaco coaches. You can google “Guardian Plates” for more info. Some members have ordered the plates and did the install themselves but it is easier to visit Talin Manufacturing in Brooksville FL and get all the issues addressed. Chris owns 2 Beaver coaches and has a lot of experience. Call and speak to Bethany at Talin / Stone Vos at 352-942-2653. If you are not going to be in the area you can have it installed by a tech but you need to do the measurements for the correct plates to be made by Talin for your specific coach.
  2. Pat, according to Lippert that reservoir should be filled almost to the top, about half inch or less from the top. I had a similar issue when I replaced the fluid and solved it by adding more.
  3. My coach came with a rubber coated extenders. Eventually one started leaking and was removed. A year later (2 years ago) the tires were replaced and I installed ss braided extenders and no problems so far. I have had an ongoing issue with the driver side outer tire slowly losing air. I could not find it and took it to the tire shop. Turns out that the valve stem was leaking against the wheel rim. These stems are all oem. Decided to replace the stems on both the outer tires with shorter ones and angle for easier inflation via the flowthru sensors. This allowed me to do away with the short extenders for the outer wheels that effectively made a u-turn. Unfortunately I do not have a photo of the new installed stems to attach.
  4. I had a leak in the inlet valve (different foot operated Thedford toilet) due to a crack and had to replace the valve. It can be done but my days of hugging the throne are long gone. So I ordered the new valve and then pulled the complete toilet and then rebuilt it in a much easier location. It provided the opportunity to clean where it had not and replace the seals. The job is not really difficult but the removal can be a little messy. Reinstalled after lubricating and since then no issues at all. These thrones do age and a one-time clean and lube may just be a good investment.
  5. Use your cellphone camera to find the model number that can be on the side or even the back. It is often under a skirt, as in my toilet’s case, that you first need to remove to find the model. Then you can use that model to google the cause and find suitable parts.
  6. You can measure the amps or, with the 120v power off and disconnected, measure the resistance. The element has, as I recall, 15w resistance. See the attached post on this topic. You can also Google it. https://www.irv2.com/forums/f54/how-to-test-electric-water-heater-element-107612.html
  7. You can swap the 12v and 120v switches as they both are 12v rated to check if the switch is faulty or not. Then check if the 120v is coming on at the element. These steps will help identify the cause of the problem.
  8. Hi Chip, what is the cost for one of the motors? I do not have a problem with mine, yet. It may be an idea to buy a spare.
  9. Frederic Flynes recently purchased a new ladder for his coach. You could PM him for more info.
  10. I am not sure if your coach has an Intellitec load shedding board next to the breaker panel (it is behind the cover). These boards do go. You can check by swapping the connection to the breakers for the front and mid/rear a/c (assuming you are comfortable with electrical work and also making sure there is no shore or inverted power. Then see if the front a/c works with the shore power restored. Then do the same for the mid/rear. If the issue is now on the front a/c you may want to check the output to the breaker(s). It the mid/rear still has the issue then the a/c may have the problem. Remember to reposition the cables to the breakers and take pictures so you know what was the cabling before starting.
  11. Randy, Welcome to the group. Try the following: on the inverter are 2 push-in circuit breakers. Make sure these are in. Check if this solves the issue. If still unresolved, try resetting the inverter. On the one side you should find an on/off switch. Turn it off, wait a minute and then turn it on. Check again. These are the first things to check. Ic it is still not charging then let us know.
  12. Hi Richard, WCP is a Cake walk, sure, if you drive an oil burner with a blower on the air intake 😎 Frederic and I each drive a gasoline powered coach, GM 8.1 motor. And at only 2000 rpm the motor might just stall on the way up the hill ☹️ 3500 worked for me ROFL - trying to write this in a humorous way
  13. Frederic, Wolf Creek Pass is not so bad and we did it last year with the LaPalma. I did have the DW drive the car up and down so as not to overburden the coach. The engine temp was slightly elevated but dropped noticeably on the downhill.
  14. Todd, that looks way better than the Walmart off the 39 at Rochelle, IL that We discussed. Not to bad at $50, but the campgrounds are becoming really expensive these days.
  15. Jim, a little VB Script works and it is easy. Even I can do it 😎
  16. About 2 years ago my TST decided not to work and not charge. Seems like they had issues with the power cord connector or at least mine did. So my son took it apart and using a usb cable he had lying around, hard wired the usb cord to the device. It was out of warranty anyway and the solution was really cheap. now it works all the time and the battery is always charged.
  17. There is a new gizmo available online to sanitize your water that is inline before your water hose. This might solve your problem. https://www.amazon.com/RV-Inline-Sanitizer-Easiest-disinfect/dp/B08F2QTQ5T
  18. What will be your source of water to sanitize your tank, assuming you have not moved to a new location that has ‘good’ water? Do you have a cartridge type water filter? You could remove the filter cartridge, put some bleach into the cartridge and let the water mix in the tank.
  19. This is both interesting and concerning. However, one question not asked so far is, what type of terrain are you currently in that could affect your current fuel consumption? Is it level or are there a lot of grade changes? Also do you have a lot of head and/or side wind to deal with?
  20. I am soooooooo jealous !! It is on the bucket list for 2025. Looks like you had a great time.
  21. It is not only the UK that has 50Hz but a very large part of the world.
  22. That is a very decent price. The complete 3-step stair is about $1500 retail. You can do a lot with the $800 that you saved.
  23. There should be 3 wires to each switch and wire placement is important. For basic on/off, it would be 2 wires. Keep in mind that my coach does not have any Intellitec control system and that may make your coach different ito switches.
  24. I am not sure about your coach but on my coach the switches are dpdt (double pole double throw) i.e. used for 3-way switches. I suggest you check the individual switches and possibly the wiring for continuity.
