  1. Chuck, I didn't see where anyone responded to fuel filter p/n's. I have a 300 isb as well and the PO installed aftermarket filters. My Manual calls out for two 10 micron filters, S3201P for the primary and a FS1022 for the secondary. The original primary filter is supposed to have a plastic sediment/water bowl on it with a drain. I do not have this and other than a quick visual of sediment/water, I don't see the need for a plastic bowl that could be broken by road debris. In researching the filters, the S3201P is a 30 micron filter.? I opted to get the fleetgard FS19596 fo my secondary filter as it has a 7 micron rating. So which filter did you get to replace your primary filter. Thanks Rich

  3. Bob, A little back history, we purchased the M/H about a year ago and had fuel gauge issues and I changed the sending unit which seemed to solve the fuel gauge issues. While doing that I looked in the tank and didn't see anything obnoxious, however I had added some Diesel 911 to be on the safe side as I didn't know the condition of the system (microbial contamination) we had just filled up and was about 5 miles or so cruising down the road about 55 mph and started losing power, I pulled off the side of the road and the engine died. I thought that I may have purchased bad fuel even though I have purchased fuel at the same station through the years as the station is close to my home and I also have a diesel pickup. I had intended to change the filters and had them with me. The first thing I did was drain some fuel from the secondary filter to see if I had possible water in the fuel. I didn't see anything obvious but, I had nothing to catch the fuel in to examine it and didn't want to create a fuel spill on the side of the road. Cleared the codes and fired it up and seemed fine. Albeit the oul pressure seemed low at idle but would be around 60 psi off idle. We drove around 10 mor miles and it started losing power again. Made it to a truck stop and parked it. Ended up having a friend come out as I didn't have a filter wrench and couldn't get the secondary filter off. I searched everywhere for the primary filter to no avail. Got the secondary filter off and it was literally clogged with what appears to be microbial growth. Clean up the filter base and blew everything off with air. Installed the new secondary filter and got it primed and fired it up. Made it down the road about 25 miles and it started to surge...pulled off the road again and pulled the secondary filter which had some junk in it but not as bad as previously. Same thing, cleaned up the filter and managed to finally make it to our destination...I crawled and searched everywhere and still have not found a primary filter. Which if there was a primary filter....how is all the crud making to the secondary filter... and yes, I flipped when I saw the condition of the secondary filter...
  4. Stuck on the side of the road. Have fuel filters but can't seem to locate the primary fuel filter. Does anyone know where it is?
  5. "0" ohms would be an open, not a short. Which a open circuit would not blow a fuze? I would start looking for a shorted wire feeding the motor.
  6. If you get the correct part number, I found that RockAuto had the best prices earlier this year when I changed mine on a R4R chassis.
  7. I wanted to share something that I found on my 04 H/R Neptune 36PDQ. While looking over the coach I noticed that the hydraulic reservoir for the jacks was riding on a coach support strut. I jacked up the support bracket to to bend it slightly and gain clearance between the reservoir and support as seen in the attached photos. Had I not raised it up, it would have eventually chafed a hole in the tank.

  9. Ray, No harm no fowl. I did try calling several shops in my local area and even visited a few that were listed as commercial tire dealers..it was a little frustrating to say the least. the shop that will install them does not make appointments due to staffing issues. I am so confused about staffing problems in the "new normal ".. seems hard to find good folks to work I guess.
  10. Ray, the shops around me either didn't carry the Toyo tire brand or didn't have the capacity to mount 22.5 tires. Called Purcell tire (local big truck tire shop) and he quoted me the $70.00 each to mount and balance. All he had available for me was Michelin tires. Would have been the same mount and balance fee if I bought the tire from him. It was cheaper to order them in than purchase them locally..I usually try to purchase locally first to try to keep the money in my local economy...
  11. I have new steer tires ordered and on the way, I opted for the Toyo M122 as I couldn't get the M144 in my size. $720.00 USD delivered and I was quoted $70.00 each to mount and balance. I am in the St.Louis Missouri metro area and was having a hard time finding a shop to Mount and balance 22.5 tires, which I thought is odd since a lot of semi's run 22.5 tires...

  16. So. I recently started getting a check engine light at start up of my M/H. 2004 Holiday Rambler Neptune 36PDQ with a Cummins 5.9 300 hp isb. Tried to find the codes but not sure I understand them. Can anyone decode them? After about 10 minutes the CEL turns off. Thanks Rich
  17. If the floor heaters are heating pads similar to what is utilized in aircraft, there should be measurable resistance since it is basically a heating element? The resistance values should be dependent on the size of the pad. If you are reading zero resistance, then there is a broken wire or an open in the circuit or element.

  19. Thank you Kevin! I did and didn't see one for the Neptune. I know that there are other models that are similar and use the same wiring...but don't know which ones yet.

  22. Well, thanks for everyone's input. I only have one (that Ihave found) connector under the dash. It is a 6 pin engine diagnostic connector. For whatever reason someone had greased it up. I cleaned the grease out of it. Hooked up the Scangauge D again..at first I only had the voltage reading as before. I fiddled around with the different "gauge" settings and it finally picked up the other parameters...so it appears to be working...in the driveway anyway. 😀
