  1. I always put a cap on the end of my fresh water power reel hose end. If the check valve fails it won’t empty your tank when your driving down the road.
  2. Those outlets that aren’t working could be the inverter/charger internal transfer switch that’s not switching back to pass through mode when connecting to shore power. If some of your outlets are working it sounds like your main transfer switch is working fine. I don’t know what model inverter/charger you have but there should be some breakers if its a Xantrex or reset button on the outside if it’s a Magnum.
  3. John, I have the same roof as you and have 3 panels mounted. I just used stainless 1 1/2 screws and Dicor and didn’t worry about hitting trusses. I pre drilled the hole and forced Dicor in it then applied plenty of Dicor on the bottom of the brackets before attaching them. I then applied more Dicor on top. On my previous Motorhome I installed panels the same way and they were exactly as I installed them when I sold it after 11 years.
  4. I ordered Gaurdian plates back in July last year from Talin. Bethany told me up front that they were short staffed and very busy and it might take a little longer than usual so I was prepared for some delays. I was thinking maybe a month or so but I was way off. I received my Gaurdian plates the first week in December and I have to say I was very disappointed at how long it took. I had to reach out to Bethany most of the time to find out what was going on throughout the process and finally had to reach out to Chris through the site to get things going again. Over all I am very pleased with the quality of the plates and the installation kit that came with it I just wish it didn’t take so long to get. Bethany was always very nice and apologetic but she seemed like she had to be in three places at one time.
  5. A few years ago I pulled into a major truck stop and there wasn’t clear signage as to which way to go. I made a split second decision and went the wrong way into a dead end. I had to disconnect the car and had a heck of time getting out of there. From then on I always look at google maps to make sure I know the layout so it’s familiar to me when I get there.
  6. That’s what I said “ the fans get there power from the computer board and from there goes up to the thermal switch” or snap disk as you said.
  7. From what I remember the cooling fans get their power from the computer board that you can access from the outside. From there it goes up to the thermal switch that you can’t get to unless you pull the unit. I would check to make sure you have 12volts leaving the board and troubleshoot from there. As Tom said you could add fans at the top of the vent stack pulling air up wired to a on off switch to keep air flowing. From what I remember the fans ran most of the time unless you were in very cold weather.
  8. We did a 5000 mile trip last spring around the country and only had an engine light come on once for about a minute. I posted on the site about it and it hasn’t happened since. Seems like every trip I go out on I have some little problem but that’s ok with me. I don’t want any BIG problems 😄 I agree very well built Motorhomes
  9. Ivan, I was thinking of getting Mudflap but I called there customer service and asked if you pay at the pump and she said you had to go inside to pay. Is that true?
  10. I have been using it for a few years now and I like the fact that you don’t have to go inside and can just pay at the pump. When I paid with my own credit card before at the big truck stops they always made you go inside and put some amount you think it’s going to cost. Some times the pumps are quite a distance to walk and then standing in line is a big PITA. The discount is a nice bonus to me and I just try and go to the truck stops that give me the best discount
  11. John, when I first got my Dynasty my Norcold 1200 worked good on electric but not on gas like yours. It fired up and had a flame but didn’t cool down much at all. I changed the burner and it fixed the problem. I had other problems after that and ended up changing the cooling unit with the Amish 12 volt compressor cooling unit. It converts it to a residential and has been flawless for two years now. If your door seals and over all condition of the box is good and you don’t want to modify anything I would highly recommend it.
  12. I was doing some maintenance today and never saw this before next to my hitch. Looks like an air line maybe for a brake system? If it is an air line I think I’m going to try and trace it back and disconnect it. I already have slow air leaks and want to eliminate potential problems.
  13. It was after I got home and the temperature was 60-65 outside and everything with the Aqua hot was off and the zone pump was running.
  14. Just got back from a trip and my Aquahot diesel wouldn’t fire for the first time. I had the same scenario as Venturer where it started the blower but wouldn’t lite and after a minute or two the diesel light would go out. When I arrived home I started to check into it and found one of the zone pumps was running with all the Aqua hot switches off. I tried pressing the reset button on the control board but it didn’t seem to do anything so disconnected from AC and turned my house and chassis mains off. After a few minutes I turned everything back on and the diesel burner fired up and went through a full cycle and shut off. I think my board might be going bad not sure. One thing I was amazed with was one night it got down to 30 degrees. I put the rear and bathroom zones on and left the front off on the Aqua hot furnace. With just the electric it kept us warm and was cycling on and off during the night set at 70. I didn’t think it would keep up but it did just fine.
  15. If anyone is looking for a direct replacement halogen bulb for the Docking lights this one fits perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M9ZZMC8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  16. Are you sure it’s the window seal? The roof clearance lights are known for leaking. If it’s the window seal you can use clear Pro Flex for a temporary fix but your going to have to get the seal replaced at some point. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FC98X2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  17. When I first bought my Dynasty the front driver side leaned after 15 min. I went to Josams and they replaced a hose and an air bag. Then the passenger side started leaking down slowly….probably was always leaking but slower so I never noticed it. A year later went back to Josams and had 3 air bags replaced and everything seemed ok for a short time. Passenger side started leaking slowly again so this year I went back and they found another problem up front and fixed it. We camped for a week and all was good then I came home two weeks ago and parked it at our lot. I went over yesterday and guess what passenger side was down again. I have been under there so many times spraying for leaks and have replaced many fittings myself as well as Josams fixing it and still this persistent leak. They have checked the 6 packs and not found a problem. The rear has all the original air bags and never leaks only the front passenger where all the bags have been changed as well as hoses and many fittings. I guess I’m just destined to put my blocks of wood between the frame as I have been doing since I have owned it.
  18. When you say nothing works I assume your blower motor doesn’t come on either? The control panel works off of a vacuum and has a vacuum pump in the generator compartment. If your pump isn’t working none of the controls will work. If your dash blower isn’t coming on then it could be the control panel. The panel on my 06 Dynasty is an early 2000’s Ford. There are many different versions so you have to take yours out and find one that matches the connectors on the back. Here is a few pictures of the vacuum pump and a control I found on eBay.
  19. I was just at Josams this Thursday and Friday. I had an air leak fixed and the all the wheel bearings and chassis lubed. I always tell Barry to have his mechanics inspect the chassis for frame cracks and so far hasn’t found any. He ended up replacing the front wheel bearings. I have a ring camera mounted on the outside by the door and saw quite a few other Monacos there getting worked on. I told Barry about this site and that he was well known and a lot of good things were said about the shop. Lost of free advertising
  20. Wish they had the outside vent in chrome like my dryer vent instead of black or white.
  21. Thanks for all the information from everyone. I’m going to change to ATF when I get back because we do and have traveled in some areas where I started up in the morning in the 20’s and I’m also not worried about mixing the two anymore.
  22. Ivan, yes my tank is just like yours it huge so changing fluid is going to be expensive. Frank, yes I believe you are correct in that I have the AW46 fluid. When I pulled a sample and compared it to ATF it’s a lot lighter in color. I think ATF has been added over the years to top off. Glad to know it’s ok to mix the two. As others have suggested I’m just going to wait and change the fluid when I get back from my trip. Thanks for all the replies.
  23. Thanks, I have read a lot of information on the site about the topic and I definitely would like to drain and refill but I’m getting ready to go on a trip and just wanted to change the filter right now and was just wondering if I could mix the fluids. It says in the manual this hydraulic tank holds 35 quarts…almost 9 gallons gezzz that’s a lot. I would like to put Transynd in but going to be pricey and even putting regular transmission fluid won’t be cheap either.
