Cricket Golf Cart

Recommended Posts

I hope I put this under the appropriate heading, please move if better in a different one.

Anyone have a Cricket cart?

Thinking the SX-3 would be the ticket, it will fit in our Scion Xb toad.

Looks like they have been around 14 years or so.

I know carts are not allowed in some parks, & some charge a fee to bring your own.

Most require Liability Insurance, but my agent says only about $50 a year, little more for full coverage.

Thoughts?

We have a Cricket that fits in our Honda CR-V. We have only had an issue using it once at a Jellystone. We insure ours for Liability and Theft

We have a Cricket and love it. On our 3rd year with it and have had zero problems. We went electric since a lot of campgrounds don't allow gas carts. Fit in our Ford Edge nicely.  We got ours after watching one get loaded easily into a Honda CRV. On our 3rd year with it and have had zero problems.

We have it insured under our FMCA Nationwide RV policy. Was an additional $50/yr for the rider.

Dave,

I believe a member has one but he doesn't post much.

His name is Rick Melling. I think I remember him carrying it inside his Chevy SUV HHR.

Yes, we have a Cricket and we take in in our HHR.  We use it a lot around the house too.  We have insurance on it since some parks require it, though we've never been asked to prove it.  Then again, we haven't taken it a lot.  We haven't been anywhere in a while.  When we go out again we might be taking the trike on a trailer.

We had a Cricket for about three years.  Worked great.  Goes fast enough.  Never any issues except when I towed it because we ran the batteries down.  DON"T TOW A CRICKET!!  It ruins the motor and motors are about $300.  The Cricket fit in our Ford Edge.  We had it insured.  We sold it because we purchased electric bikes, and also wanted a full size golf cart for use in the neighborhood.

We have a 3.5 yr old Cricket SX-3 we purchased new. We have carried it around the country in our Saturn Vue. Recently purchased the complete rain enclosure, tinted windshield and a trailer hitch. We are pretty much stationary in Crystal River Florida now and we use the Cricket every day. It has worked well and we are very recognizable in the Park since we have the only Cricket in here. Have had a lot of inquiries so I think another one or two will show up in the near future. I really like the built in charger and the ability to accommodate 4 people on the unit. Works well for us!
