On the Camelot / Scepter models around that year, they mounted them under the front cap, ahead of the entry steps. On a Sig, I don't know.

Sound seems normal. They have to work harder as the pressure increases.

Mine probably runs between 30-45sec if it's just replenishing the tank from 90-120psi, and my airbags aren't making an adjustment at the time.

On our '07 Sig it sits just forward of the drive wheels. Here is a picture.

 

Also a check valve had gone bad and it was filling the entire system and not just the small ping tank. Some had the check valve in the wrong place and also ran like a long time

Read this post that I did say back.  I BELIEVE that you have the SAME Air Compressor, in the LEFT Rear near the Drive or Tag axle.  Frank MeElroy ( @Frank McElroy ) was my tech support here.  

My friend's NEW TO HIM Dynasty would NOT shut off the Aux Compressor.  He also had some issues with the air pressure gauges....and that morphed into "DO YOU HAVE PROPER AIR TO DRIVE" as some idiot had turned off the alarms.  We have his TEST his tanks and also drain them and do a leak down.  That raised a BIG RED FLAG for Frank.  The REAR tank spit out a bunch (say a few quarts) of water.  That immediately told Frank the problem. He had a BAD AIR COMPRESSOR.  He did NOT have TWO Drain Lines in the rear....like Franks' 2008.  The AUX Compressor had its OWN "Drying System".  OPPS, it failed.  My friend said that the air governor sounded "funny" and he had had 2 or 3  DP's before.  It also never shut off or he didn't think it was.  

Bottom line....he had Josam's in Orlando go over it.  His leveling problems were SYSTEM....and NOT AIR Related.  BUT, his air system was "messed up".  Josam's replaced the compressor with a new one.  I think it was the same type.  You COULD replace (assuming it is bad) with one like Frank's 2008....but you need to understand the circuitry and also add a DRAIN LINE to drain it.  

If you drain your rear tank (there is only one, I'll wager) in the rear on the left side....you MIGHT get water....  If so....then after the compressor is replaced or modified to a conventional one with a reservoir and a drain line.....THEN....time for a specialist to pull some air lines and look at your rear brake cannisters.  You DO NOT want water in your brake lines....

That's about it....

The picture is for the VIAir Shut off switch.  It is an ON @90 and OFF @ 120.  If you find it....then you can easily test it....USUALLY they fail in that the contacts become corroded and it will NOT start.  I SUPPOSE that it could be the other way.... but, it needs to cycle and it should be evident by watching your gauges....

If you air governor is cranky and is making different sounds or not working like it use to....look or have someone work on the compressor.  Just make sure that THEY know how the Monaco system works and that the "Dryer" compressors were unique and then replaced with conventional ones the next year....that's as much as I can help technically...

One other thing to consider if you have water in your air system, ask your self when the last time the air dryer was serviced, if you don’t know the answer it’s best to be serviced, the compressor on the engine will put moisture in your air system also as well as a malfunctioning leavening compressor and you don’t really know were it’s coming from, l rebuilt my stationary leveling system a year ago, new compressor, pressure valve and solenoid and made sure the built in moisture valve was working correctly and clean.
Tom Cherry is correct, you don’t want any moisture in your air system! When I ran my trucking business I serviced the air dryer every year, without fail!

Excellent advice.  Frank gets the credit for this.  The Front Tank was dry as Death Valley.  He had heard or helped someone else before.  He said it was specific to the time period with the "we dry ourselves" compressor rather then the bottom drain reservoirs (piped or not piped) like are used on most Monaco's...

SO...if there is water up front... bad dryer....water in the rear and a "we dry ourselves" Aux Compressor....then odds are...BAD COMPRESSOR.. Josams did NOT try to service or fix it....they just put in a replacement.  I have NO IDEA as to what you are supposed to do to make sure it is working....that would be in the manual...

Thanks. Talked to tech at Valid and he gave me a lot of info also.  Thanks everyone for the info. I think compressor is just going bad

Nope…..the AUX compressor.  I never got the brand and model of the compressor with the dryer….

I don’t think that George (Grizzly) will find it on the build sheet.  Ugly place for it…

Where is the check valve and ping tank located? I turned off my auto leveling system so it was off all night and coach level did not settle or change so the bags aren't leaking but the compressor came on this morning.

Here is a schematic for an 05 signature, I would believe that it is basically the same layout for an 07, you will find the ping tanks outboard of the main front air tank. FYI.

 

  The auxiliary compressor on my 05 is just forward of my drive axle but I believe Monaco moved it forward sometime in 06 or 07.

So have another question. Does the back air tank feed the leveling system or only the front air tank? My back air tank has a slow leak somewhere but my air bags are not loosing their level so I assume it is only the front tank that feeds the leveling system. FYI I talked directly with Valid and they have excellent customer service. A guy named Cris. Between everyone on here and Cris we have resolved our compressor issue and another issue with control pad. Thanks

Are you referring to the “Parked leveling system “ or the traveling air system?

 One other thing to take note of, on my 05 the compressor that supplies the parked leveling system only supplies air to the the leveling manifolds so it doesn’t fill the air tanks as such, at least that’s my take on how my system works, I wouldn’t think the later coaches would be much different, no need to fill the air tanks and with that small compressor it would take a long time to make that much air!

Parked leveling system, my travel mode and manual mode is all the same system. Talking with Valid they said it comes off the compressor head to a tee with then goes to front tank and to there pressure switch. I turned off my compressor(pulled fuse) and main air tanks still level the coach if needed without the compressor. Looks like issue is check valve at the compressor head. Haven't found any leaks so far on the 2 lines. I will double check but don't think a line goes to the manifold.The pressure switch is set for 90lbs on and 120lbs off. It is not adjustable The tech also told me to check and make sure someone didn't put a check valve at the tank on the line coming from the compressor other wise that would cause the compressor to come on more often

That will work until your main coach air tank(s) get down to about 65psi, then a pressure protection valve will close and not allow any more airflow to the leveling tank.

That's when your aux electric compressor is on it's own.

It doesn't fill your coach air tanks. Air can only flow one way. From your main tanks, to your leveling tank(s).

On my 05, I have a two wire harness going to the compressor, one continuous hot wire and one trip wire. When I rebuilt my system I thought it was one hot and one ground wire, it took me a while to figure it out, I don’t know what Monaco did beyond my model year.

Yes that is where ours is located behind the axle on driver side

Do you mean the ping tanks(leveling Tanks)?
