Capt. Tango Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 2003 Dynasty - The tray fills up with water buy the ice tray fails to cycle and dump. Can I remove it and run some type of diagnostics on it? Worked great for years and just stopped.
Dr4Film Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 Have you read through the NotSoCold Service Manual Ice Maker Section to review the Troubleshooting steps?
Jerry G Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 Was @$ 100 for a generic replacement at HD or Lowes, I forget. Easy to do.
timaz996 Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 After fixing one twice and buying another one that failed I bought a counter top ice maker and now I have more room in the freezer.
Russ R Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 Get the Norcold Service Manual from the files section of this site and run the troubleshooting.
Solution Ivan K Posted March 22, 2024 Solution Posted March 22, 2024 If you want to play with it, you'll have to remove it to take the plastic cover off. There are test points to quickly run it through a cycle to see whether it stops or not at a certain point. It's just a standard unit used by other manufacturers, not Norcold specific. YouTube has videos on it.
Capt. Tango Posted March 23, 2024 Author Posted March 23, 2024 Thank you , thank you, thank you. Thanks for all the input and suggestions. Turns out a cube was jammed in the tray. 1
Ivan K Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 If you get it working, I think it is a good idea to drill an access hole through the cover side to be able to adjust water amount for the tray if you ever need to do it, without removing it again. 1
