Hmmm…. Let me know. I made a few tweaks yesterday to several things on the site - mainly to improve searches, but I did have to change the template some. It’s supposed to be gray, no pink… but then I’m a bit color-blind, according to my darling wife…

Cliff, at the risk of sounding too,simple, check the dump valve exhaust ports for dirt daubers or other obstructions. My 2006 Dip won’t dump in 90 seconds, but it does dump completely on about 2-3 min. And yes, I lived with slow dumping for about two years before I cleaned out those ports. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ok, I've made some changes to the site, and the system is rebuilding the search index without the Newsletters. The search function may not work properly for several hours beginning at bout 1:00 am eastern time on Saturday 12/11/2021. I've also stopped archiving Newsletters and deleted the archives, as that was 100% duplicated content. I've also upgraded the site to the newest release, which supposedly had some search engine improvements. Let's see if that helps! Scotty

Several members have been curious about how many folks who participate in the Monacoers’ site dry camp, so we thought we’d ask!

I used a drill bit to drill holes at each corner, then used a jigsaw to cut the hole. I covered everything with blue painter’s tape to keep the fiberglass from splintering (not sure it would, but preventative…). It also help keep from marking up the paint around the hole. For the foam seal I used Great Stuff Outdoor foam sealant: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JDD1ZR3/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_NXSKGVC063MHGNAJP0PN I believe it is. It was not connected.

You are correct! I should have said multi-meter, not ohm meter! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Well, new caps are less than an oil change for your ‘Vette, so here’s hoping that fixes it!

Also, there is a procedure in that manual to check the capacitor with an multimeter. I used that procedure to check my caps.

Hello All, I have a burned-out light in my speedometer assembly. I’ve pulled out the speedo (gauge, Not swimsuit), and it appears to be a sealed unit, with no way to get to the bulbs, so I don’t know what kind (incandescent, LED?) or the size (usually a 286 bulb). Has anyone opened this unit? Is there a trick, or do I need to find a speedometer shop to fix it? (PS - it feels odd when you’re the webmaster and can’t figure out which forum to post your question in. 🤣)

@Steven P - Would your setup address these issues? Also, as additional info, I replaced my factory cameras last year, and still had problems with my video (right, left, and rear). I found the culprit to be the Aladdin Jr switching. I haven’t figured out a solution, but I have figured out the video from the cameras is very clear, and the factory monitor still has a decent picture.

I used the supplies he recommended in his post. (If you are going to do this, I STRONGLY recommend reading his thread.) To echo John’s advice… unless you are doing the calibration in an aircraft hangar or enclosed garage with smooth concrete floors, don’t bother trying to use the tape provided with the kit for calibration. Use the measuring wheel and chalk he recommends. Additionally, there are not a lot of directions in the manual for setting up the calibration layout. Measure well, and understand that laying out the grid EXACTLY to the dimensions shown for your length vehicle will give a good result. The more accurate you are, the better the “stitching” process will work. It is much easier to use than the original CCC unit, and both the Bluetooth and WIFi functions work perfectly. I’ve read that some of the very earliest versions had some software/firmware shortcomings, but those had been corrected by the time I purchased mine (April 2021). I can also personally attest that their tech support is very responsive. I broke a component when installing mine, and they sent me replacement parts next day air at no cost to me. I’ve also asked questions about upgrading my heat pumps to the latest Penguin II units, and received a quick response with the good news that my Micro-Air could be upgraded to work with the new units.
