  1. I use Peak Final Charge Global Extended Life (OAT) in both my ISL400 and the Onan 8k QD genny. The Onan doesn’t require it, but I confirmed with Cummins it’s ok to use it. It’s easier to just carry a gallon of premix that works for both. Probably a silly reason to change to OAT, but I’m red/green colorblind and could never make sense of the test strips to tell if I needed to add SCA. OAT made that issue go away for me. 🤪
  2. This things: 1. You are welcome to post a link or picture. 2. I’ve had very good luck reaching out to Amazon about products that were past the return date (i.e., they’ve never told me “no”). Once was a phone call and the other time was simply a chat with customer service.
  3. Manufactured December 2021, so a little over four months old when I purchased them. All six have the same date code.
  4. Bret, Your dealer is correct about the M144. I’m not sure of the reason, but since the last time I purchased tires (just over 5 years ago), they’ve reduced the number of sizes that they offer the M144. We called Toyo and confirmed they don’t offer that tire in my size any longer I just put new tires all the way around and used the Toyo M154 295/75R22.5 all around on my 2006 Dip. It took about 2 weeks for the tire shop to get them. I paid right at $550/ea installed with all the fees and taxes. This is my second set of Toyos. I put about 40,000 miles over five years with no issues on the previous set. The M154 seems to have a slightly softer sidewall, and the ride seems just a little better than my previous Toyos. Or maybe that’s just my “I spent a boatload on new tires” bias…🤣
  5. Sorry to create confusion. Windshields aren’t double pane. In many Monacos (and other coaches) most of the other windows are double pane from the factory (some on here have changed out fogged or broken double pane windows windows to single pane). The most common area for this to happen is the door window, the driver’s side window, and passenger side windows that may not have shades like the rest of the coach.
  6. Just a word of caution. I also use reflectix in the front windshield (given to me at the Gathering three years ago!) It is not advisable to use reflectix or any other reflective material or heavy reflective tint inside double pane windows. As @Ivan K mentions, it can cause heat buildup between the panes and cause the seals to fail, resulting in foggy windows. We’ve had at least one case of a member having the outer pane shatter because of reflective material inside the divers side window.
  7. Sorry folks. We had someone created fake account and spoof us. Their comments have been deleted.

    Toad Build?

Always! Maybe I should create a new section for toads!
  9. My rule of thumb (based on experience) is about 1 gal/hr under full load (both ACs and misc loads), so with 1 AC (fridge uses minor amount compared to AC), and 1/2 gal/hr sounds about right.
  10. 2008 Monaco Diplomat 40PDQ For more info check out this equivalency chart:
  11. Jim, Congrats on the new coach, but understand, Monacoers is like Hotel California… you can check out, but you can never leave. 🤣 You just become a S.O.B. (Some Other Brand) coach owner. Many of our members no longer own Monacos, but still contribute regularly. We hope you’ll do the same. 😉
  12. It looks like the original posters items have been sold, but I’ll leave this open for a while in case any additional horse trading goes on… 🐴🤣
  13. Bob, one place to check… mine has a 10 or 12 pin connector behind the receiver (mine was tucked in a hole in the black plastic box) on my system, sometimes the pins don’t fully engage. Probably a long shot, but easier than pulling wire. IF you have to pull wire, be aware it’s not a straight, clear shot from the speaker to the front cap. There’s an aluminum support that runs across the coach right at the point where the front cap attaches to the roof (ask me how I know…) There are a few gaps to fish a wire through, but finding them blindly is slow work. An inexpensive endoscope was very useful in my endeavors. Here’s the one I used: https://depstech.com/collections/wifi-endoscopes I’ve gotten many times my $40 worth out of it 😁 you would also be able to see evidence of any uninvited guests… 🐀 I have five extra speakers… Send me an email at scott AT monacoers.org and we can work out details on how to get it to you.
  14. @Frank McElroy @pwhittle do y’all have any suggestions? I’m guessing this coach has the Kongsberg Chassis Multiplex system?
  15. Finally completed my new internet setup, and I’m currently testing it in the toughest place we’ve stayed. I installed the MoFi 5500-5GXeLTE-EM9191 on the panel behind the TV. This keeps it out of the way, plus I already had 12v power there. I added a filter/voltage regulator to protect the unit. This also allowed me to run the 7 (!) antenna cables from the roof, through the front cap. (No small feat - I spent a good deal of time with my endoscope finding a route for the cables!) I also added a fuse block to distribute the 12v power. After trying several locations and not being pleased with the performance, I ditched the original Proxicast antenna and returned it to Amazon. I purchased a Parsec Husky Pro 7, 7-in-1 antenna in its place. (4x4 MIMO 5G/LTE antennas, 2x2 MIMO WiFi antennas, and 1x GPS antenna). I installed it on the roof just behind the front cap (see note above about cables 🙄) I am running this on a T-mobile data-only plan at $50/mo. I attempted to use Cricket at first, but they didn’t allow my new router because they said it was 3G, and they don’t support 3G any more…. I tried to explain, but they said once they’ve deemed I have an incompatible device, they’re no longer allowed to speak to me. Hasta la vista, Cricket! I’ve been testing the device this afternoon, and so far a very pleased. Here is my most recent SpeedTest results - on LTE (no T-Mobile 5G in Hayesville, NC!) The upload speed is nothing to write home about, but to put that in perspective, the best I’ve *ever* been able to get at this campground is about 4 Mbps down. Just enough to watch TV if you hold your mouth right and the wind doesn’t blow. Here is a test with my old system done this afternoon: So, in conclusion, I spent some $$, skinned my knuckles threading cables through the ceiling, but I’m really happy with my new internet setup. Many thanks to the good people at the Mobile Internet Resource Center https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/ for advice, and Mobile Must Have https://mobilemusthave.com/ for helping me determine the best antenna for my needs and providing YouTube videos showing installation. I got a good price, but the tech support and videos were worth any extra I might have paid.
  16. That *should* work. Create a “throwaway” gmail account and forward to Yahoo.
  17. Sorry folks… There is an issue where the several members have reported our newsletter as SPAM. All it takes is one individual reporting the newsletter as SPAM, and the mail provider relays that to Invision, and they block that address, permanently, to protect their email server reputation. Many times this happens accidentally, and sometimes the mail provider seems to do it based on an algorithm that no one can explain. I have battled this for over a year (and spent hundreds of dollars) with no success. The following email providers are the worst: yahoo.com ymail.com bellsouth.net att.net comcast.net The best you can do is submit a support ticket (Use the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of any page) and include your email, and I will ask Invision to unblock it. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. If it happens twice, they won’t unblock it again. At that point, your best bet is to change the email address you signed up with. We’ve had the best success with free Gmail accounts and free Microsoft (hotmail, exchange, etc) accounts, as they don’t seem to get blocked. Sorry I don’t have better news, and I hope this helps. PS - The only other option we have for sending out the daily newsletter is a paid email service. Since we send out about 100k emails a month, this gets really pricey really quick. For example, SendGrid would run about $30-40/month over and above the costs of the site (which are covered).
  18. Here’s what the WH bypass looks like on my 2006 Dip. Access it from the basement using the little access door in the second compartment , passenger side.
  19. Yes, same setup. I replaced my Magnadyne head end unit with a Pioneer double DIN unit, and all four speakers with JBL (you can see the rear speakers - black - in one of the pic ps above). My coach had all Magnadyne speakers instead of Sony for the dash radio. (Separate post in the “upgrades” section on that). I disconnected the bedroom speakers as they were more of an annoyance than anything. The only thing I kept from the original setup is the Sony unpowered subwoofer. I’ve looked far and wide for a better quality wireless powered subwoofer, but have found anything that will fit in the cabinet under the dining table… yet. I ended up using Klipsch R-1650-C speakers. I originally purchased CDT-3650-C II speakers, but did not have enough clearance between the ceiling and the roof. I replaced all five ceiling mounted surround sound speakers. The improvement in sound quality is amazing, even if I didn’t get to use the better speakers I originally purchased.
  20. Ted, See this post: I'm pretty confident the Shoreline hose reel and the Shoreline power cord reel use the same motor…. Might be worth a shot. …and while I had it open, I would buy a replacement gear from John Delmatoff (his is made of sterner stuff and will last longer). I’ve replaced the gears on both of my Shoreline reels and they look pretty much the same, other than the electrical vs. plumbing connections. hope that helps.
  21. No, we’re in the motorhome at Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds for the next week (we’ve been here almost a month). Then we move over to Gibson Cove in Hayesville, NC for a couple of weeks. We love it up here and spend a lot of our time in Hayesville or Hiawassee. We should meet up for coffee sometime.
  22. Nothing that I can see…. Have you emailed MoFi support? I’ve emailed them a couple of times and they were very responsive and helpful. I know my speed increase was pretty dramatic with the MoFi 5500 (I average between 30-40 Mbps) but I’m running on LTE (no 5G in Hiawassee, GA), so the 4500 should have similar performance.
  23. Spent a little time (and money) upgrading my surround sound system. I previously installed a Bose sound bar so we could hear the TV, but it’s no longer necessary and I can move it to the bedroom. Replaced my old HUGE Pioneer receiver with a compact Marantz N1506 5.1 surround sound receiver. (thanks @pwhittle for the recommendation!) Replaced all of the ceiling mounted El-cheapo speakers with Klipsch ceiling mounted speakers. (Thanks @Dae Sungfor the inspiration for the Klipsch system when I heard yours at your house) Added a Fosi subwoofer amp so I could continue to use the hidden subwoofer (haven’t found a powered, wireless subwoofer that will fit in the space… yet) I can now hear my TV in glorious, high fidelity 5.1 surround sound. If only my hearing was as good as my surround system. 🤣 Next, to move the Bose to the bedroom…
  24. Funny thing happened on the way to 100GB…. I was traveling for work this week, and when I got back to the coach my data useage had dropped from 88GB to 58GB??? Go figure I’ve only got a few days left in my billing cycle… not sure I can get to 100GB by then. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  25. …and I pronounce if “ruffle-mayo”. Or not at all…😉🤪
