  1. Added a new forum for members to showcase upgrades made to their coaches. While there may be some overlap with other categories (there will), this section is more about improving functionality or appearance than solving a particular problem or failure.
  2. Just a little additional add... and this is second hand stuff I recall from @throgmartin... I use Biobor and Opti-Lube, much the same as @Tom Cherry I recall from the gathering two years ago that Chris Throgmartin was discussing the lubricity of diesel fuel when our engines were originally designed versus the lubricity of current formulations of ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD)... in short, current ULSD does not have the same lubricity, and additives increase the lubricity, which makes the lubricity of the fuel closer to what our engines were designed for... if I can find my notes from that session I’ll post them here.
  3. I HAVE GAS!!! Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. Here’s a pic of the finished project. Materials List: 1/2" BLK TEE 1/2"X3/8" BLK BUSHING 3/8" CLOSE BLK NIPPLE 3/8” PROPANE QUICK CONNECT BRASS 1/2” 90° BLK ELBOW 1/2"X1/4" BLK BUSHING 1/4" MIP X CLOSE HEX NIPPLE BRASS 1/4” RV PROPANE QUICK CONNECT BRASS RectorSeal #5 Pipe Thread Sealant - yellow (approved for propane & natural gas) A smattering of elbow grease and a few drops of blood from skinned knuckles... I also purchased a 24’ 1/4” propane hose with quick disconnects and an adapter for my Coleman Roadtrip Grill (see earlier post). I have yet to purchase the 3/8” hose for my fire pit, but seeing that it’s 80°F+ today and a low in the mid 70’s tonight, I might not need that yet...
  4. Follow-up #1. Got the quick disconnect, etc. to tie in to the coach’s prep fitting, quick connect propane hose (24’), and an adapter for my Coleman grill that eliminates the regulator. I like this because I can still use the grill with the original regulator with 1lb bottles (or 20# tank and hose). I also got a wye and a second hose so I can run the grill and fire pit at the same time. I’ll post pics and a parts list when it’s all done.
  5. Hey, you do it and if I like it I’ll do it to mine. 😂😂
  6. Jason, Following up. My digest came complete with pics this morning. Did yours? one down... 😂
  7. Thanks Jason. Great suggestions. - The newsletter app developer is working on grouping by topic, but she says this will be several weeks. I’ve attempted to modify the scripts, but realized quickly that I’m not a programmer. We will have this, but I’ll have to wait on the developer to add this feature. -I’ll check on the picture loading. I’ve noted this also. I wonder if turning off the lazy loading (thats an option) of pictures on the site will correct this?? I’m always open to ideas; if you are knowledgeable in these areas I’ll accept any help I can get!! Scotty PS - I turned off lazy loading of images. We’ll see if that helps the newsletter. If not, I’ll turn it back on later...
  8. Yes, they are from Harbor Freight; no, I checked and they are not subject to recall. 😉 The ones I purchased are on clearance right now. I don’t usually buy from Harbor Freight, but I had to have these “that day”... https://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton-jack-stands-34924.html
  9. This was recommended by @Doug Hoegh and I’ve found it to be a great resource for propane fittings and accessories. PropaneGear - “Propane Know How | Do More with Propane” https://propanegear.com/
  10. I bought a pair of 12 ton jack stands. The most weight I have on any corner is 9,600 lbs, so the 12,000 lb per jack rating seems sufficient. I place them under the frame rails.
  11. Several of my friends have taps on their LP systems for grills, fireplaces, and other accessories. Looking at my owners manual, it refers to “exterior gas line hook up prep”. On my Diplomat, behind the water heater is a black iron pipe with a shut-off valve, then about a 2” section of pipe that is capped. 1) Can anyone confirm if that is the “hook-up prep”? 2) If so, isn’t that on the low pressure side of the regulator? Thanks, Scotty
  12. Mine acted similarly prior to the motor going bad. I think it may have broken a tooth on the gear. New step motor fixed it for me.
  13. So sad! My condolences and prayers for his wife and family.
  14. Just chit-chat, but I hear friends — and have them asking me questions about our RV. Some who used to prefer hotels and resorts are now thinking an RV with their own personal space is how they will vacation in the future. Could bode well for the industry, not so well for finding that perfect camping spot if it plays out that way.
  15. All, I had to delete multiple posts on this thread as they were political, which is not allowed by our site guidelines. There are plenty of places to discuss politics; this isn’t one of them.
  16. Ok Gang! It *appears* the Daily Digest is working properly. Let me know if you have any more issues.
  17. Steve, I’m late to the game, and it sounds like you’ve probably covered the bases, but on the one Sharp TV I have, you can actually disable the HDMI ports with the remote. If you talked with Sharp tech support they probably covered it, but I thought I would mention it. Menu -> System Options -> Input Terminal Setting -> HDMI Setup -> Enable/Disable Maybe thats the magic bullet. 😂 When I bought this TV it was a demo, and I couldn’t get it to work. Turns out they had disabled the HDMI ports and put it in Demo mode. 🤷🏻‍♂️ PS - it is a Sharp Aquos circa 2009...
  18. No judgement here, just sharing some additional information... There are three somewhat related groups on FB: - The Monaco Owners Group - Steve Giano's site, the largest of the three by far (3,300+ members), which has many, many members in common with this site, but there's no direct relationship between the sites. Steve created this group in 2017 before the new site came about and while this group was still on Yahoo!. I believe it was the first Monaco site on Facebook. They allow us to post our events on their group, and we cooperate with each other. - "Bill D's Monacoers" Group on FB that was created by Bill Groves @Hotrod at the request of Dave Pratt to drive traffic to this site. There are few posts and the site primarily redirects people to this site. This helps our ranking when people search on Google, Yahoo, or DuckDuckGo (Search Engine Optimization, or SEO). - A Monacoers group on FB also created by Bill G that gets occasional posts and is meant to be complementary to this site, but does have occasional posts. Posts on there are frequently posted on here also. This actually helps our SEO more than the "Bill D" group because it is an active site using the word "Monacoers". There may be other Monaco FB groups that I am unaware of, but none to my knowledge that use the name "Monacoers". In addition... - There is also an extensive group on IRV2 under the Monaco name. IRV2 strictly prohibits any mention of Monacoers.org as they consider it a "competing" site (I may or may not have gotten some stern emails from them when someone mentions our site). I never really thought we competed, I always thought we were complementary sites, but since IRV2 is now owned by a for-profit entity they have clamped down on the mention of other sites. There is a lot of useful information there, and again, a lot of overlap with our membership. That doesn't include all of the subsets of Monaco coaches - Holiday Rambler groups, Beaver groups, Safari groups... Maybe one day someone can compile a complete listing, which I believe would be of benefit to the community. Scotty
  19. Actually, it does have a polling option... You must start a new topic, and there is a POLL tab... near the top of the screen 😉 As far as preferences, it doesn't bother me that some folks prefer the old Yahoo! site. That site served this community very well for over 15 years! If Yahoo hadn't yanked the rug out from under us (and every other Group), it would have saved your Moderators quite a bit of time over the last 6 months! That said, I'm partial to the new site because we can do so much more with it. Best Regards, Scotty
  20. Nope, nothing has been removed, but the moderators got a few nasty emails through the "contact us" form... Thanks for your patience everyone. We believe all to be fixed now... Daily Digests will start back this afternoon, and assuming they don't blow up, will continue each morning. The Weekly Digest has been shelved until the developer can figure out what happened. I can't tell if individual unsubscribe requests stayed intact - you*may* have to go back and unsubscribe again tomorrow for those who don't receive the daily digests - but wait until tomorrow, please, and then it may take a cycle or two for the unsubscribe request to "take hold". Best, Scotty
  21. That’s a result of me shutting down the system before it completed the task. I don’t know that there’s a way to recover it. As best we can tell, either there is an error in the code, or running two Digests (Daily and Weekly) with overlapping content caused some unexpected behavior... The application developer is trying to figure that out, and I won’t restart the Weekly Digest until we have an answer. I will restart the Daily Digests soon. The first Daily will cover everything since the crash, the following that will revert to the regular “daily” update.
  22. The system has finally purged and executed all of the pending orders. I think we’re in the clear... I’ll restart the Daily Digests when I get my courage up... I’ll check in to see if it kept your preferences to unsubscribe... It’ll be a while before I try the Weekly Digests again. 🤦🏻‍♂️ What an ordeal!!! Scotty
  23. Hey Mike, Please check out the thread "Digests" in this section for a full recount of the issue. We had one of the website applications go rogue on us and we are working with the application developer and the Invision support team to correct it. I apologize for the inconvenience. Scotty
  24. Thanks. Apparently it started this morning with the Daily Digest, and you previously unsubscribed from that. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Scotty The Daily Digest has also been suspended, as it started this behavior this morning. Invision Support stopped the batch process with Weekly Digests. I have engaged the NewsLetters application developer to resolve the bug. If you are receiving multiple Daily Digests, please be patient. It is turned off and we are working to correct the issue. Stay tuned. Scotty
