  1. I had the same issue, and here is the advice Chris Throgmartin gave @throgmartin: "Put the slide all the way out and then pin the spring which is on the right side of the assembly. Then remove the right en cap or tilt it out so the cog wheel on the spring is free. Make sure the spring is pinned before doing this. Now, bring the slide in about 4 inches, roll up the excess fabric, and then re-assemble the end cap. Now move the slide back out and check the fabric tension. You just put one wind on the spring. Every 4 inches of slide travel equals one wind. You may have to go 6 inches; the fabric should be taut. " Hope that helps! Chris will tell me if I got it wrong. 😂 PS - I have SOKIII slide toppers.
  2. Yes sir! You are posting correctly! I am moving this post to Electrical, but will leave a link in “General”.
  3. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I've gotten a few messages lately about "where are the files?" Everyone sees the files being uploaded by Frank (Thanks @Frank McElroy!!) and wants to browse them. All of the files brought over from the Yahoo! site under the "Files" section are under the"Downloads" section in the new site. (Sorry, but it won't let me change the name to "Files" 🤦🏻‍♂️) At the top of the screen, select Browse, then select "Downloads" to view the available files. From a mobile device, use the "pull down" menu (three little white horizontal lines in the upper right hand corner), then select Browse ==> Downloads.
  4. We have added a listing of new files (found under the "Downloads" section) uploaded to the site each day. I sent out a "special" newsletter today showing files uploaded over the last three days; normally it will only show the previous day's files. If there are no new files upload it does not appear. --> Clicking on the filename in the newsletter will take you directly to the file download page We have also added notification of new Articles, Photos, and Calendar Events to the Newsletter. These sections will also only appear if there is new content. Your suggestions to improve the site and your comments are always welcome. Scotty
  5. Well, for a Hattiesburg boy that went to MSU and now lives in GA, I do OK. My in-laws live just up the road from you in Aberdeen. The site is a lot of work (I guess it’s my hobby??) but I enjoy doing it. 😉
  6. One of the really valuable parts of this website is our files section. How many of you have a “stash” of files - many specific to your coach - that might really help someone out? How often have you needed a particular document and found out that another member has it (but it’s not available on the site?) As our Monaco-brand coaches age, and with the dwindling tech support from REV for non-REV coaches, it becomes more critical that we share these files in a central repository. Bill D’s Monacoers has always been a go-to, and it is my hope we can increase the value of our site over time for all Monaco-brand coach owners. I’m issuing a challenge to all of our members to take a little time and share your stash of files with the group! (Frank - who manages the Downloads section - is gonna kill me!) First, a few rules... - Please do not upload files that are *property* of other sites. We ask people not to upload our Parts List to other sites, and we should have that same level of respect for other sites. - Please try to name the file something the moderators can interpret. “2006 Monaco Diplomat Owners Manual.pdf” is great, we know what that is!! “D50699238476.pdf” is not so understandable.... 😂 Likewise, a good description really helps us understand what the file is and where to put it so it can be found easily... - Monaco/Beaver/Holiday Rambler/Safari owners manuals, wiring diagrams, plumbing & piping diagrams, etc. from Monaco and it’s predecessors are particularly needed, since those are no longer available from REV and becoming difficult to find. - Ditto those same files for components (generators, aqua-hot, inverters, etc.), as many are no longer published or available from the OEM. - We LOVE anything that you have authored and are willing to share bout your coach! How-to documents, White papers, etc... How to upload: - Click on Browse | Downloads and click on the “Submit a File” button in the upper right hand corner. Thanks everyone! Let’s continue to keep this site as a great reference tool for Monaco, Beaver, Holiday Rambler, and Safari owners! Scotty
  7. Your wish is my command (sometimes). Hobby section added below.
  8. Fred, et. al., Glad you found the code. Just for reference (and others who may read this thread), there’s a comprehensive Aladdin troubleshooting guide in the “Downloads” section that includes the reference codes and instructions for setting multiple parameters and troubleshooting.
  9. Hey Luther, My dad was in the Navy, but a little before 1964. He was on the destroyer USS Flint as Chief Signal Master in WWII. Scotty
  10. PLEASE keep mentioning them! Even the small stuff. I’m really enjoying this thread!!
  11. Hello Everyone, The most common complaint we’ve gotten (at least once a day 🤦🏻‍♂️) has been the inability to click on a link in the Newsletter and read the related content on the forum. As of today, I’ve reconfigured the site to allow you to click on a link in the Newsletter and read content on the site without the added step of logging in. Hopefully this will improve everyone’s experience with the site. Please continue to share your comments and suggestions about the site. We continue to grow and have added a lot of members since the beginning of May. Two items I’m still working on... 1. Sorting the Newsletter by topic (so all posts in a thread appear together.) 2. Adding the massive database of messages from Bill D’s Yahoo group. This has become a science project. 😂. Anyone with database experience that wants to chime in and help would be greatly appreciated. 😉 Keep on motorhoming! Scotty
  12. Hal, You’ve posted it in the correct place. You can always contact a moderator though the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of the webpage. When you seek the coach and are ready to remove the posting, just message the moderators and we’ll remove it. Regards, Scotty
  13. Ken, et. al., It took me a bit to figure this out, but members cannot delete posts. Just send a note to a moderator and we’ll delete it for you.
  14. Bob, my understanding after reading up on the technology is that it’s not a tracking satellite antenna. It’s more like XM than DirecTV in that regard. According to the literature it can be used in motion. From SpaceX: ”SpaceX shared that the ground terminals "look like a small to medium sized pizza box" and that they WOULD work while mobile and mounted on boats, planes, and other vehicles - with no need for aiming required as long as the receiver was "reasonably pointed to the sky" Again, if they do what the advertising says, it will be very popular with RVers!! But the realist side of me says we’re getting the best case scenario - reality might not be quite as good, but even if it’s not all that and a bag of chips, it will likely be better than the current cellular options. I currently have the TOGO Roadlink C2 (Winegard) unit, and really like it (the AT&T service is good, and the $360/year unlimited internet is great) but the price for service will almost triple - and I’ll lose the true unlimited internet - in October when my current annual subscription runs out. I’ve been working from my RV a lot more lately, and need good internet for that and for streaming TV, so I try to stay on top of the “latest and greatest” internet service for RVs.
  15. I do. Richard Smith @Dr4Film makes a really nice pedestal checker that's easy to use. I only got it in February and it's already saved my bacon once. Richard - you might want to put info about your pedestal checker in the Vendor section! You should use the motto "30 seconds can save you $30,000!" Pffft! right after I posted this I saw where Richard had just posted info on it... 🤦🏻‍♂️
  16. @Steven P just replaced his bedroom slide seals, I'm sure he can provide some helpful info.
  17. I've used a similar product to what Nick @K9 Exec used 👆🏻, purchased from Home Depot. I had some "suspicious" looking crud in my evaporator pan when I was cleaning it. Once I cleaned the coils, wiped the evap pan with Clorox wipes, and dried out the mess I made in the coach 😐 (Hint, put some plastic and/or towels down under your AC units in the coach), the smell was gone, replaced for a day or two by the Clorox smell, then nothing. That was two years ago and no recurrence since... Hope that helps...
  18. I heard firsthand from @rtmurley about the steer tire blowout he had shortly after installing Tyron bands. Ray, could you chime in? I'm certain there are others...
  19. Their website states 25ms latency - which is comparable to cable or slightly worse than fiber, and better than cellular. They are also advertising 610 Mbps speeds, which is about 50x most cellular connections and on-par with the best cable and fiber options. All for "around" $80/month. IF they can do what their advertising says 🙄, it'll be awesome. ...and FWIW, I signed up to be a beta tester... 🙂 Just so I can give first-hand reports to Monacoers!! 🤣
  20. Mike, Would love to see a little more info about wiring the LED lighting under the kitchen and living room slides. I've been thinking of doing that, but struggling with where to run the wiring and what circuit to connect to. Also any insight about installing the LED lighting in the door handle. Was wiring already present? Or nearby in the passenger side panel? Thanks, Scotty
  21. I vote we have a “2006 Diplomat Rally” and Bob and others can teach us about our coaches! I’m only half kidding... 😉😂. I’ve learned a tremendous amount from Bob. Of course, Bob is usually at the Gathering, too...
  22. Awesome thread! So many ideas to “borrow” 😂
  23. Propane quick-connects, brass fittings, and grill adapter came from propanegear.com Black iron pipe and RectorSeal #5 Pipe Thread Sealant (yellow) came from Ace hardware. The only thing I would do differently next time is use a brass 3/8” close hex nipple instead of the 3/8” close black nipple. You can get a wrench on the hex nipple to tighten it; not so with the black iron close nipple without damaging threads. Checked for leaks, then cooked the first meal on the grill tonight! Success!
  24. Please do! Love stealing good ideas from everyone!!! 😂
