  1. Gary, The max size is 200 x 200 pixels. I fixed it for you, but if you want to change the size just double-click on the picture while editing your signature and a dialog box will open to resize it.
  2. Many Monaco coaches use windshield wiper systems from AM Equipment Company. If you have questions call or email them; they are very helpful in finding the right parts for your coach. AM Equipment 402 E Hazel St Jefferson, OR 97352 https://www.amequipment.com/ email: info@amequipment.com Phone: (541) 327-1546 They currently have a 10% off fall sale. Use code: FALL2020 Good through Wednesday, October 14, 2020
  3. That would probably be me... we currently request that each member include their coach information in their signature. The minimum requirement is First Name, Last Initial, coach brand, model, and year. Most add more info (see my signature below). We have a lot of new members (which is awesome!), but some haven’t updated their signature. I will send out a reminder to all site users to make sure their signature is updated. I will also look into your suggestion. The site currently adds the username of the person posting, but I’ll find out if it’s possible to add coach information. Scotty
  4. To add a little detail, that is a Sony NON-POWERED subwoofer (mine looks exactly like yours right down to the little "L" brackets). The original entertainment system had a subwoofer amp built in. If anyone has changed the entertainment system out, they likely didn't reconnect it, as many newer home theater receivers have preamp level subwoofer outputs instead of speaker level subwoofer outputs. My 2006 Diplomat originally had a Sony entertainment system with DVD and VHS. That was replaced with a Samsung system, but that system was designed for 3 ohm speakers, and the speakers in my coach are 8 ohm. This resulted in very low volume levels. I replaced the Samsung with a Pioneer home theater system, but have yet to decide whether to purchase an amp for the existing subwoofer, or purchase a wireless powered subwoofer to replace it - and then find a place to put the new subwoofer (as it undoubtedly will not fit where the existing subwoofer sits!)
  5. It took me almost a year to figure it out! I looked at that window several times and never thought the gap was big enough to cause that much noise!
  6. This one has a happy ending... about a year ago, while turning out of a campground I dropped a rear wheel off in a small ditch. My already-cracked windshield spiderwebbed (cracked to look like a spider web). I had the windshield replaced, but kept experiencing a very loud and annoying wind noise. I was certain it was the windshield and get the windshield company out there two more times to fix their mistake. The wind noise persisted. I recently got a rock chip in my “new” windshield, and immediately got the (same) glass company out to fix it. While there the tech asked if I was still having a problem with wind noise, which I was. He went over the windshield, inside and out, and could not find a problem. Over the last year, I have added new spray foam under the dash and in the front run bay to try and resolve the problem. While working with him, I noticed the trim around the drivers side window had pulled out about 1/16”. I sealed the trim with ProFlex, and after a 6 hour trip, NO WIND NOISE!
  7. Dateline: September 23, 2020... As fall is upon us, it occurs to me today that we as motor coach owners have been blessed in many ways. I sit in my ‘06 Dip, my toy and my hobby, looking out across Lake Chatuge into the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, thankful for blessings. When the Corona virus first hit, it was scary; devastating to someone who basically travels for a living. I could no longer go see customers, in a business that is very “high touch”. I had to learn to conduct meetings over Teams, Skype, WebEx, and Zoom, because my customers weren’t allowed to have face-to-face contact due to COVID-19. It was depressing for me, an extrovert, to not see people! As time progressed, Debbie and I realized that anything I could do from my basement office, I could also do from the RV, so we tried an experiment... We booked a few weeks at our favorite campground in Hiawassee, GA and tried living in the RV. It worked great, and opened up a new world for me. What was once our “vacation home on wheels” now became a means for us to be wherever we wanted and for me to continue to work full time. So while we practice social distancing and wear face masks when we go to the grocery, we are able to move about freely and enjoy our motorhome more than we ever though we would be able to before retirement. So today, I sit at our picnic table with an amazing view, enjoying the beautiful fall weather, working (well, I was before I started writing this...) and being very thankful for the very unexpected blessings that have come from the current pandemic. 8. I will probably regret asking this, but would there be any interest in a “virtual” Gathering, possibly using Zoom (or similar)? I can’t promise we can pull it off, and there are a lot of “IFs” and “Hows” to be answered, but the first question is “IF” there is any interest... - We could have presenters present over Zoom, if they are willing! - We could have a virtual, “moderated” Roundtable via Zoom It wouldn’t be like a Gathering from the social standpoint 😭, but it might be a way to keep some momentum going and share info in a different format than just the website... Thoughts? Suggestions?
  9. Several months ago I came across a website where the RV owner had developed a flush-mount faceplate for a Progressive Industries remote. There were downloadable designs and a link to design software, etc. Now that I'm ready to install the remote, I can't find the site. Is anyone familiar with this site, or have another lead on a flush-mount face-plate for a Progressive Industries remote display? Thanks, Scotty
  10. We've added a new Forum to "WebSite Info"! If you are a member of this website and have a blog about your Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Safari, or Beaver, or even about RV'in in general, please share it here!
  11. Steve, I have a 2006 Diplomat with the Carefree Eclipse awning. About two years ago it was left open 🤦🏻‍♂️ and the brackets torn off the side of the RV in a windstorm. I was able to replace the 1/4” lag bolts holding it to the side of the coach that were ripped out with 5/8” lag bolts of the exact same length, and it has held up well.
  12. Ivan, I'm pretty handy, but haven’t worked with glass. Are you saying this is something I can DIY, or something I should leave to a professional to do?
  13. There's no explicit rule against identifying bad service; however I think the way you handled it is better. My preference would be to share things like that privately or via an appropriate channel like you did. That said, we've had posts talking about specific towing companies, etc. that did a bad job, etc., and they were left up.
  14. I’m considering replacing my original Trimark keyless entry system with the newer model and adding a keypad at the entry door. Anyone have experience they’d like to share? I’m wondering if my ‘06 Dip has wiring in place, or if I’ll need to run the cables. The new system has better wireless security and offers future expandability. ...and I can purchase extra remotes 😂 Suggestions welcome! Scotty PS - Ill document and post pics here... if I do it.
  15. Just a suggestion... I use a spark plug boot with one end plugged with black silicone to cover my air connection on the toad when not in use to prevent insects, debris, etc from plugging the airline.
  16. I *think* you may be referring to the coax cables... If so, mine labeled “rear” goes to the “satellite in” connector in my rear electrical bay. I primarily use it to connect cable TV from the RV park to the selector up front, then distribute it as needed. I have three factory installed cables - one from the satellite on the roof; one from the rear electrical bay, and one from the passenger side basement that I use to run signal to an outside TV during football season...
  17. Well, at this point I *would* give it away just to get it out of my garage... 🤷🏻‍♂️ I just can’t bring myself to throw it away...
  18. I just purchased a new set of arms from AM Equipment. They were the OEM supplier on my 2006 Diplomat. https://www.amequipment.com/commercial-duty-wiper-assemblies I worked with Vanessa. She was extremely helpful and helped me find the exact replacement for my coach:: Vanessa Lee Customer Assurance Rep II Tel: (541) 327-1546 FAX: (541) 327-3479 vanessa@amequipment.com
  19. I’ve had to replace a jack and Visone had one in mint condition for about 1/3 the price of new.
  20. Wow! Do either of you recall if the fire was from the Espar unit? Or was it an engine fire? The comments about the fire suppression lead me to believe it was possibly an engine fire. scotty
  21. Thanks everyone for your replies. To clarify, I already have a RF-18 installed (for about a year now), but my wife finds it very difficult to use because the top 2 shelves are up pretty high. We have a step stool and have tried adjusting shelves to no avail. I’m thinking life may be better for both of us if I play the percentages on needing that second furnace and lower the fridge, and y’all have given me valuable insight. Thanks, and additional comments and suggestions are most welcome
  22. I’m curious... has anyone ever removed an LP furnace from your coach? My 2006 Diplomat has two furnaces, with one under the refrigerator. We have rarely used the furnaces, and even then only the main furnace seems to come on. (Only twice in three years do I recall the second furnace even firing) They are labeled “zone 1” and “zone 2” on the thermostat; however the zone 1 primary furnace seems to heat the entire coach. We primarily use the heat pumps for heating, and rarely use the LP furnaces (typically only if boondocking; once in really cold weather) I'm considering removing the second furnace, so I can lower our Samsung RF-18 to floor level, but before doing so, I have a couple of questions... 1. Do both furnaces share the same plenum? If not, can the plenums be joined? 2. Could I replace the “primary” furnace with a higher output unit to serve the entire coach? 3. Has anyone else done this, and what has been your experience? 4. Any other ideas or suggestions for lowering the fridge to floor level? Amy thoughts, comments, or suggestions are appreciated.
