  1. Bob, your EMS HW-50C does everything that MY Power/Pedestal Tester does except for testing for a Fake 50 Amp pedestal. The only advantage of testing the pedestal with a tester is only if you do it BEFORE spending the time to get into your site only to find a problem with your power pedestal that would require you to move someplace else.
  2. I test the pedestal even before pulling into the site just in case we have to move to a different location due to problems. I build Power/ Pedestal Testers for RVer's who are electrically challenged or prefer not to deal with putting it together themselves. I build two different models, one basic and one a little more custom. I have attached a photo of my Digital Custom Power/Pedestal Tester. It tests for proper polarity, ground, neutral and displays the voltage on each leg. It also has a RED indicator light on top which checks for authentic 50 amp service versus Fake 50 amp service. Fake 50 amp is really two 30 amp legs not two 50 amp legs. With Fake 50 amp you will only have 7200 watts of power to use versus the full 12,000 watts of power with an authentic 50 amp service.
  3. Open neutrals are also a huge concern for RVer's. I also recommend using a dab of Camco Electrical Protectant and Lube on your 50 amp plug before plugging into the pedestal. It improves conductivity among other attribute. https://tinyurl.com/y7e9zn3m
  4. Enough said! Article from RVTravel.com A fifth-wheel has exploded at a remote campground in Alberta, leaving six family members with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Last Monday rescue crews scrambled to Marten River Campground, 180 miles north of Edmonton. At first the family was sent to a local hospital, but they have since been sent for more specialized care in Edmonton. The family consists of two adults and four children, ages six to 41. Investigators said the family had a small, “single use” LP cylinder inside the rig which leaked and exploded. This sad case reinforces the call for all RVers to ensure their LP detectors are truly operational.
  5. What you are hearing is the end of life alert. Replace it with like model.
  6. There are companies that will make replacement panels custom made to fit your exact panel layout. I don't remember what their names were off hand. Did you happen to look through the Monacoers Parts List to see if someone is listed there? Edit: I just returned from looking through the parts list which I have on my Laptop and there are listings in there where you can find replacement panels or have a custom one built.
  7. To my knowledge the owner of this forum, Dave Pratt, his brother-in-law (Paul) has had such a real life blow-out. Possibly Dave will chime in on this question.
  8. I would rather trust a metal fixture inside my wheel versus a plastic composite one and save some money too!
  9. Is your concern about finding the location of your Allison Transmission Dipstick or have you misplaced the OEM dipstick? If you are looking for the location then check directly over the transmission. If you are looking for the physical dipstick then chances are you never had an actual dip stick. Possible just a cap which means you could plug the fill tube with a rubber or cork stopper. You read the ATF level by using the Transmission keypad, never using a dipstick.
  10. That is the exact same model that was in my 2002 Monaco Windsor. Never used it from day one. So one day while staying in Tulsa OK on our way to Alaska I was changing out the kitchen faucet and decided to finally remove it. The old faucet and Insta-Hot went into the trash. The new faucet came with a soap dispenser so that's what went into the opening.
  11. Have you traced any water lines FROM the unknown faucet on top as to where they go?
  12. That second faucet is for the Insta-hot. Probably not plugged in. Look under the kitchen cabinet to make sure it's connected. I removed mine and installed a soap pump for dishes.
  13. I quit purchasing the plastic spools made for the shades. I decided to purchase sewing machine bobbins. Plus they have metal ones that you can buy which will never break.
  14. I would be checking the floor of the bathroom versus the window.
  15. Here is a link to the current ALLSTAYS web & app site. https://www.allstays.com/ There is also a link to the APP's https://www.allstays.com/apps/ There is nothing on the pages that I can see where they are no longer supporting the app's. Maybe try contacting the owner to get a clarification.
  16. Are any of the cords broken or it may just need a tension adjustment at the bottom spools.
  17. Don, When on 50 amp shore power the Inverter is not providing any power. The charger portion is maintaining the House Battery bank and keeping your Chassis Battery fully charged also. The Inverter portion is actually in a Pass-Thru mode. It may have been a fluke incident or a power blip from the shore power supply. Do you keep your Inverter on 24/7/365? Mine is on all the time to keep my fridge running if any of the 120 VAC goes out.
  18. My Allstays apps are still working on my Samsung S7 Edge.
  19. I always purchase the 80 oz jugs at Walmart which treats 250 gallons. I add a maintenance portion of Biobor JF to the jug then use half of it for any fill-up. One jug treats two fill-ups.
  20. I use this device that attaches directly to the spout of the Diesel Kleen jug. Been using it for years without spilling a drop. https://tinyurl.com/ya5ddfua
  21. Bill C Jr, You don't say what size of Class C you are considering because it makes a BIG difference as to what you can tow. If you are serious about downsizing to an average size Class C you had better give serious thought to downsizing your towed vehicle also. 6K lbs is a lot for smaller types of Class C's to haul around the country. If you are only downsizing to a 30 foot Class C or longer then you have many options to choose from that have adequate towing capacity for your 6K vehicle. https://tinyurl.com/ya3n78gt However, if you are looking for Class C's under 30 foot such as the one listed below in the link you had better change out your towed vehicle to a smaller one. https://tinyurl.com/y7nsnpmw
  22. Mike, Roger Berke can answer all of your questions and concerns. Did you check his forum for procedures on replacing the HT Thermostats?
  23. I've been using a mixture of Diesel Kleen and Biobor JF for years now. Not necessarily every fill up but I always do when I plan to park the coach for an extended time after filling the tank prior to parking.
  24. John, Motorcoaches have been exempt from the federal regulations for 20K maximum for some years now. I don't remember when that exemption took place though.
  25. Our Windsor has a rear axle rating of 23K and a front of 13K for a total of 36K. For many years we were not allowed on I-90 through Ohio due to their scales. They have since waived the Federal mandate for 23K axles on motorcoaches. It is a know fact that motorcoach manufacturers have used the same axles for a variety of coaches in the food chain. Plus there is also a safety factor built into the axles of a certain percentage. When we were Full-Tming our coach was over-loaded especially the rear axle as I was towing a 12K cargo trailer which had a tongue weight of 1800 lbs due to the way I had to load it. Traveled that way for over 8 years with three trips to Alaska and back, no problems. We no longer have the trailer as we purchased a winter home in Florida so we only tow our car now and the coach is now underweight.
