  1. Does anyone out there have an unwanted Control Board Intellitec # 73-00824-001 that controls the Big Boy Relay, 12V Kill Switch and the Battery Boost Switch. I have a glitch with the board on my 2003 Signature with the Cummins 525 ISX. M&M can rebuild them but it is a 7 business day turnaround. I am also checking with Visone as well. 2. I had the same chassis problem on my 03 Signature. I was dragging one of the arms after the vertical section broke off and was dragging on the road sending a trail of sparks out the back of the coach. Upon inspection, the other side was almost broken off as well, we were very lucky it wasn't a major disaster. Fortunately I had a couple of ratchet straps in my truck so was able to pull the arm up off the road and limp into a campground I had just left. As usual for a travel glitch, it was a Sunday. The Vertical members are 3 x 3 x 3/8 Square Tubing. I had Standons in Calgary Alberta machine 2 pieces of solid square steel 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" by 12" long. (I was a welder in a former life) They cut a couple of holes in the upper and lower part of the broken members, chamfered around where the welds broke, inserted the solid square, plug welded around the holes to the solid square and then around the chamfered broken welds and added gussets as well. They did an excellent job at a reasonable cost.
  3. I have not started on installing the Racor 79030R yet but will advise on size of fittings when I do in the next few days
  4. As a matter of interest, on my 2003 Signature with 3 slides, the two front slides extend different lengths, the Driver Side extends further than the Passenger Side. Both sets of cylinders are the same length physically but do not extend the same length. The passenger side Cylinders have an internal spacer to eliminate the possibility of extending too far. When you remove them make sure you identify where they came from if you are doing them all at once.
  5. I have replaced the slide cylinders on both HWH Slides on my 2003 Signature and had the Slide Cylinder seals replaced by a local Hydraulic repair shop. If I remember rightly it was about $40 per cylinder. Synchronizing the cylinders is important and the HWH Manual has the procedure
  6. I ordered the Racor 790R30 today and will install it as soon as I get it next week. Doesn't look too complicated but will install so the filter is easier to change for sure.
  7. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions. I now have a plan to: 1. Check out the existing unit thoroughly especially connections 2. If unsuccessful replace the unit with the Racor 790R30 3. Install isolation valves on the gzin and gzout Again, thanks everyone for your help and suggestions, much appreciated. Owning one of these beasts is a never ending learning curve and helps keep the grey matter active.
  8. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions. I now have a plan (half the battle) to: 1. Check the existing system out thoroughly and if inoperable, 2. Replace the Priming Pump Assembly with the Racor 790R30 and the integrated Control Panel 3. Install Isolation Valves on the gzin and gzout (good idea) Thanks again all, much appreciated
  9. Can you send me the Model number of what you installed as I can't read it from yhe photo., the Parker HanifIn box I have has 2 rubber covered push buttons and 2 lights, one for prime and the other for water drain. Does your new installation do the same? mswmckeown@gmail.com
  10. On my 2003 Signature with the 525 ISX The Fuel Injector Priming Pump has failed. There is a Water Separator that is integral to the Unit with a small Parker Hanifan actuator box. Both the Priming Pump and the Water Separator have a small rubber covered button to operate the priming pump and another to operate the water separator. They both have an indicator light that is supposed to come on when either is actuated. There is a Fuel Filter and a Glass Bowl on the unit. I have looked all over and cannot see any part numbers anywhere. Does anyone out there have any info on this unit. I tried Cummins Parts and they do not list it for my engine so it was probably an OEM addition by Monaco. Any help would be appreciated. mswmckeown 2003 Monaco Signature
  11. 2003 Signature 3 years ago the Solenoid Valve that operates the cooling fan failed causing the Cooling Fan to run continuously. This happened while heading north from Sioux Falls SD to Saskatoon SK bucking a severe head/cross wind all the way. The significant effect was a giant sucking sound as the fuel gauge needle plummeted towards empty.
  12. Good idea to physically check your fittings first. I recently did a lot of work on air leaks on my 03 Signature and there are combinations of 3/8" and 1/4" diameter air lines with 1/8" NPT and 1/4" NPT (National Pipe Thread) 90's, Tees, Straight NPT to Hose connectors and Couplings.
  13. I was traveling at about 62MPH on the inside lane when it happened. Huge bang right under my wife's seat, and headed for the shoulder but was able to bring to a controlled stop. Did about 3k damage to the wheel well and surrounding fiberglass so all in all got off pretty lightly. The service person that came out of Ocala had had another call out the night before (Saturday) on another Motor Home blowout going in the opposite direction. They were heading to a Gators game in Gainesville with about 10 people on board. They ended up in the bush off the highway with some injuries and the Motor Home totaled. Their blowout was also on the front right tire and it was also a Goodyear tire. I was traveling for business about 3 months later and ended up sitting next to a person on the way back to Tampa who was a passenger on that same Motor Home, a far worse experience than I had.
  14. No bead lock or bands were installed
  15. 2003 Monaco Signature I replaced all my tires at 7 years 3months. I had replaced the 295/80R/22.5 Goodyear tires with Michelin 315/80R/22.5 in August 2013 and have just replaced those again with Michelin tires . I had my Coach weighed at the Minot FMCA Rally and learned I had been running my front tires at a tire pressure lower than was required for the weight. Even so, after 7 plus years and close to 40,000 miles there was still plenty of tread left on the tires and no sign of side wall cracking. All in all, I am very happy with the Michelins. It was a huge difference in ride and handling switching to the larger Michelins from the Goodyear tires. I might add I had a blowout on I-75 with a Goodyear tire on the front right tire which certainly got my attention.
  16. I have had pretty good luck finding parts for my 03 signature from Visone in Kentucky
  17. I has a similar issue on my 03 Signature. Did not charge on Shore Power or Generator. Dave Pratt pointed me in the right direction to the Big Boy Relay. It was not working, no buzz and no green light on the rear run panel in the engine compartment. There was a 7.5 amp fuse blown that caused the problem. Replaced the fuse and all is well.
  18. I am in the process of getting all my airbags replaced on my 03 Signature at Josam's in Orlando. I had a blowout on the front right tire and my air pressure had never been the same so suspected some damage in that area. Barry, the service Manager has a cheat sheet for airbags on many Monaco Coaches so you might want to give him a call at 407 438 7020, he may be able to help you out.
  19. Indy Dixons, I have not had an issue with any of the 12v lights. I did change all of the 2" halogen bulbs to LED's. There is 64 total in the coach. Rob (03 Sig)
  20. I didn't have a problem with those speakers. I am not sure what would cause that. Dennis H mentioned a cause that seems plausible to me.
