  1. Take the advice of one who has been there and attempted that. Go to your Cummins authorized distributorship dealer and let them do it for you. Once you take the belt off and cannot put the new belt on, you are stuck dead in the water. It's not worth the few bucks you save. Chuck B Former Diplomat owner.
  2. Wow, this oil change thread has gone a long way. I was wondering when a member would bring air planes into the discussion. I wonder what the oil change interval on my lawn tractor is? Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  3. The ole saying goes, "if you do not use it, you loose it" . Acidity can build up in oil that can cause damage to the engine. On the chassis, rubber air bags, tires, can begin to dry rot. The transmission clutches will get exercised too. Exercising rubber components keep them from dry rotting. I recommend a 100 mile trip once a month. Check into a RV park overnight to exercise the house components. At least the trip will get you out of the house. That way when you take a trip, you will make it past the first 100 miles and the first nights stay. Chuck B 2004 Windsor

  6. Ray, I blame 2 people for that. One is the motor home dealer for not educating a new owner on how to use safety devices, and coach owner for not reading the manuals that come with most coaches. Some dealers have been known for removing manuals from a used coach before selling it. A lot of owner issues posted on this site are from owners not taking the time to read the manuals. A motor home is a very complicated vehicle. There is the actual driving the coach, and then there is the living in the coach. Then there are the private sales. Recently on the group there was a new coach owner asking for help after his purchase in a private sale. The previous owner took his money from the sale, handed over the keys, and essentially said good bye and good luck. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  7. Those of you who have been to the Monaco Harrisburg, Oregon repair facility might remember Mary Moppins seminar on outside wall products. Mary was not a fan on waxes that contained petroleum based waxes. The build up on the surface tends to destroy vinyl graphics. Her product Advantage is a waterless wash that when used provided a film that restricted ultra violent light from the sun from destroying the graphics. Try goclean dot com for more information. 8. I experienced a similar failure. I found out that when starting the coach and turning on the dash air, not enough air pas passing through the evaporator coil to regulate the high side pressure causing the Freon to leak out of the the ports used to install and monitor the Freon. I waited for the radiator stack fan to come on before turning on the dash air. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  9. I have experienced similar problems in the past. I found that while traveling, road vibrations caused the plug to the controls came partially loose. I unplugged the harness and plugged it back in. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  10. In my 8 years of full timing I have seen a lot of mistakes coach drivers have made. One comes to mind when one owner was so caught up in something, he drove off leaving his power cord connected and failed to disconnect his sewer hose. I was parked in the lot at the Elkhart repair facility when a driver came in driving his Sig. He circled the parking lot taking off the outside mirrors of 2 coaches parked in the end slots. A couple of us had to step in front of his coach to stop him. His wife came out the front door with a walker followed by the driver cussing us out. Chuck B, 2004 Windsor
  11. I have a hard time wrapping my head around folks who want to by pass safety devices such as slide out control procedures. Those devices are built in for protection of the coach due to mistakes from the driver, and possible malfunction of such devices. I was driving behind a coach when their drivers side front slide started to open. A oncoming vehicle hit the slide causing a wreck. One person lost their life. Sad. It is a requirement of this group to sign posts with the first name, last name initial, year and model of your coach. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  12. Belkin makes a line of surge protectors. Home Depot carries them. Belkin provides a $75,000 connected Equipment Warranty. Chuck B, 2004 Windsor
  13. Lightning strikes can cause a lot of damage to a coach depending on what the lightning strikes. It it strikes bare earth, it can go down into the dirt ground and cause a ground swell that can come up somewhere. That is why it is good to install a Progressive Industries EMS HW 50 C on the power cord coming into the coach. You can also be dealing with a ground loop. You need to go to a Cummins Authorized Distributor Shop. Chuck B, 2004 Windsor
  14. ?? Check out Bradd and Hall in Elkhart, Indiana. They have a good selection to choose from. They will install them for you. Chuck B 2004 Windsor

  22. The inverter in the Windsor is a freedom brand. It all depends on how the inverter is wired in the mail electrical panel. Wiring options are; dual in, dual out; dual in, single out; single in and dual out; or single in and single out. More than likely the inverter on the 2003 Windsor is wired dual in, dual out, which requires a 120vac sub panel. The output of that sub panel contains GFI circuit breakers. The owner needs to inspect the main and sub 120avc panel to post an accurate post. Chuck B
