  1. There has to be a vent tube attached to the top of the fresh water tank to let air in and out as the tank fills or empties. Check to see if there is a blockage in that tube. Chuck B
  2. All it takes is a contact closure/short on the 2 furnace wires to start the furnace. Chuck B Any generic thermostat can provide that.
  3. I have found out at the majority of the dealers I visited was that if a coach was left for service, many times that coach was pushed to the back of the bus so to speak if another coach came in for service with the owner staying with the coach while the repairs were made. A one week repair promise time might turn out to several weeks. Chuck B
  4. I trust that you are aware there is a difference between a flat "phone cable" and the flat data cable that connects the different units. The difference is how the plug at each end is wired. The longer the flat cable is, the easier it is to introduce cross talk into the cable/system from a florescent light fixture that is going bad. If you are going to replace the cable you would do better by using a twisted cat 4 two pair cable than a flat cable. Chuck B
  5. Be careful that the 315"s do not rub the inside of the wheel well cover. Others have tried and were not successful. Chuck B
  6. IMO, the only true test of shocks are to use the same coach. Install one brand, drive a given road, replace the shock with another brand, and drive the same road again. Chuck B
  7. Tiffin is a premium manufacturer of luxury recreational vehicles known for its excellent product quality, outstanding customer service and brand loyalty. Purchase includes Tiffin Motorhomes, Vanleigh RV and other associated operating entities. The Tiffin Group generated approximately $800 million in revenue from the sale of RVs for the fiscal year ended Feb. 28, 2020. The sales of the associated operating companies are primarily made to Tiffin Motorhomes and Vanleigh RV. Transaction is consistent with THOR’s long-term strategic growth plan. THOR Industries Inc. (NYSE: THO) today (Dec. 21) announced the acquisition of Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. and related companies (collectively, the “Tiffin Group”) for $300 million, funded with a combination of available cash and a draw on the company’s existing asset-based credit facility. The purchase agreement was executed and effective at the close of business on Dec. 18, according to a company release. Tiffin Group LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of THOR, will own the Tiffin Group, which will continue to be managed by the Tiffin family and existing senior management team. Click here for an investor presentation prepared by THOR Industries on its acquisition of Tiffin Motorhomes. Bob Martin “The Tiffin brand is synonymous with quality and customer satisfaction in our industry,” said Bob Martin, THOR president and CEO. “For many decades, Tiffin has set the standard for the luxury class A market. Its strong presence in the luxury class A segment makes it very complimentary to THOR’s current North American portfolio. I have known of and respected Bob Tiffin and the Tiffin brand for many years. Bob and his family have built Tiffin into an industry leader, well known for its Class A motorhomes, quality workmanship and outstanding customer service. I was therefore thrilled to be contacted by Bob when he wanted to talk about joining the THOR family of companies. From the start, it was a great conversation which established a natural fit for both companies and quickly led to this acquisition. “The Tiffin Group operates in Alabama and Mississippi with more of a vertically integrated business model than is typical for our industry. The geographic separation from Elkhart offers numerous strategic opportunities including an expanded and talented workforce and a host of potential new suppliers,” Martin added. Bob Tiffin For his part, Robert “Bob” Tiffin, chief executive officer of Tiffin Motorhomes, said as a “family-owned business since 1972, finding the right partner for the future of the Tiffin Group of companies was crucial.” “The future of this group of companies is critical not just to the Tiffin family but to our employees, our dealers and our incredibly loyal customers,” he continued. “We needed a partner who we could trust would sustain all of those elements and help us grow the business in a manner that is consistent with how we’ve done business at Tiffin for nearly 50 years. I have known of Bob Martin for many years and have always respected THOR’s business model and how effectively they have added new businesses to their portfolio, while maintaining the independence and legacy of each new addition. “THOR’s strategy to empower its companies to compete with one another and to avoid a centralized operational strategy for its different companies was very important to us,” Tiffin added. “The dealers and customers who love the Tiffin brand will continue to receive the high-quality products they have grown to expect. And I am not going anywhere as I will continue to operate the Tiffin companies as I have with no timeline for change. My sons, Van and Tim, as well as my grandson, Leigh, will also continue to have major roles in the Tiffin business. Instead of feeling like I sold a business, I feel like we have aligned with a great company that will enable us to take Tiffin to a new level while maintaining the Tiffin culture and brand integrity that has set us apart from our competitors for years.” THOR Industries has been very consistent in making acquisitions that fit specific parameters, the release continued. THOR focuses on acquiring “successful companies with strong management teams, top-quality operations, excellent products and a solid dealer network. THOR operates using a decentralized business model, allowing its brands to compete aggressively with one another and to manage and run their own operations, while benefitting from THOR’s financial strength and resources to drive future growth.” Transaction & Company Highlights: Tiffin Motorhomes, operating in Alabama and Mississippi, manufactures a luxurious lineup of both gas and diesel Class A motorhomes including the Allegro Breeze, Allegro Red 340, Allegro Red, Open Road Allegro, Phaeton, Allegro Bus and Zephyr models. The company also produces a premium Class C product line – The Wayfarer. Vanleigh RV, operating in Mississippi, produces a line of fifth-wheel towable products, including the Pinecrest, Vilano and Beacon models. Additional companies within the acquired Tiffin Group include a window manufacturer (Alabama-based Wynne Enterprises Inc.), a furniture manufacturer (Alabama-based Roma Enterprises Inc.), a door manufacturer (Alabama-based Tiffin Door Co. Inc.), a fiberglass supplier (Mississippi-based Water-Way Inc.), and an RV transport company (Alabama-based Drive-A-Way of Red Bay Inc.). Tiffin Group will operate as stand-alone operating company within the THOR family of companies. The Tiffin family and the Tiffin Group’s experienced management team will continue to manage their operations, just as they and their family have done for the past 49 years. Of Tiffin’s $800 million in RV sales in fiscal 2020, approximately 90% came from motorized unit sales and 10% was from towable unit sales. The purchase price of $300 million is subject to customary post-closing adjustments. The purchase price was funded through existing cash on-hand as well as $165 million in borrowings from THOR’s existing asset-based credit facility. Subsequent to this transaction, THOR’s availability under the ABL remained robust at over $550 million. Company officials anticipate that the ABL borrowings related to the acquisition will be repaid by the end of our current fiscal year and also anticipate further debt reductions on its Term Loan B facility during the fiscal year. Colleen Zuhl “Tiffin is firmly established as a top performer in the industry. We see great opportunity, working with the Tiffin management team, to realize significant growth in its value,” said added THOR Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Colleen Zuhl. “While Tiffin’s motorized gross profit margin and operating margin have, in recent years, been lower than our North American Motorized gross profit margins, our experience with prior acquisitions leaves us confident that, in a relatively short period of time, the Tiffin Group margins will become more reflective of our North American Motorized segment for similar products. THOR’s ability to assist the Tiffin Group in developing high quality products at competitive pricing in the market creates a great opportunity for growth in the future. Exclusive of the effects of purchase price accounting and transaction-related costs, Tiffin will be accretive to our fiscal 2021 earnings.” “We are excited to be a part of the future of this great company and see many opportunities to drive growth of both its top and bottom lines,” added Martin. “While well established in the luxury Class A space, Tiffin is relatively new to the towable and Class C markets. Tiffin currently has no offerings in either the travel trailer or Class B segments. Growing the great Tiffin brand name into these segments will be well-received by dealers and consumers alike. In Tiffin, we really acquired a company that was incredibly well-established but, at the same time, had very large opportunities for growth. It’s a unique scenario that offers great upside to us. As we move into a new calendar year with strong momentum of industry growth and a growing and diverse end-consumer base, we are very confident in the future of THOR. It is with this confidence that we are excited to add Tiffin to our North American portfolio and look forward to realizing the benefits that such a well-established company will add to THOR for years to come.” THOR anticipates holding a virtual Investor Update Event in the second half of its fiscal year to provide investors with a comprehensive update on the company’s progress and current outlook regarding the 2025 goals related to net sales, gross margin and cash flow from operations that the company introduced in October 2019. The update will also provide further insight into the company’s road map for the future. Details regarding the event will be provided in conjunction with the company’s second quarter earnings report. 8. Contact the manufacturer Lippert Industries, they should be able to tell you. After all, this is a new product. Chuck B
  9. Lippert Components Inc. (LCI) announced today (Dec. 17) that its Friction Hinge stay-put door technology is now available in an easy-to-install aftermarket kit.The Friction Hinge is a seamless hinge that replaces the standard RV entry door hinge and enables the door to stay open in any position, making it the ultimate solution for easily controlling the position of open RV entry doors, according to the company release. It is an easy-to-install, durable device that has been tested and proven to handle wind gusts of up to 25 mph, and is compatible with all LCI entry doors as well as several other competing RV and trailer entry doors. Lippert Components has officially made the Friction Hinge accessible to consumers, so anyone with an LCI Entry Door will have the ability to upgrade their RV’s standard entry door hinge to this upgraded, stay-put hinge. It offers a simple installation method that does not require the need to remove the door or existing hinges. The Friction Hinge also eliminates the need for door catches and gas strut installations, and comes equipped with a one-year warranty. The LCI Friction Hinge operates similar to a laptop computer screen – allowing the RV door to remain in place in any needed position. It is the ultimate upgrade from standard RV door hinges as they oftentimes leave doors vulnerable to slight wind gusts. The Friction Hinge was developed to be a permanent solution and eliminate the need for door catches that can easily break and cause costly damage to the sidewalls of RVs. “The Friction Hinge gives RV owners an inexpensive, practical option for upgrading their entry door,” said Senior VP of Aftermarket Mark Boessler. “Developed as a long-term solution to regulate RV door movements while adding protection and increasing door strength and durability, the Friction Hinge functions with various innovative purposes to RV owners while maintaining simplicity and being user-friendly.” While the Friction Hinge is just now making its aftermarket debut to the general public, it has been installed on complete door assemblies for RV and trailer OEMs for several years. After the success it has brought forth for OEMs, LCI engineers and product managers worked hard to come up with a simple and efficient solution for the aftermarket. “We thought it would naturally be a good idea to offer the Friction Hinge to the Aftermarket so that end users could add it to their doors and enjoy the benefits of it,” said Scott McKinnon, Lamination and Awning Product Manager. “The evolution of the product over the past five years has led to tremendous growth in consumers’ trust for it to protect their RV doors from the wind; and with that increase in confidence, the Friction Hinge has steadily become a staple in the RV industry.” Chuck B
  10. On my 2004 Windsor the ABS diagnostic module is located in the front bay below the drivers seat. See picture. In order for it to work properly, you need to follow the instruction in your manual. Several years back, the going thing was to push the button about 25 times to activate it. All that did was to disable the module leaving you with no ABS when the coach went into a skid on wet pavement. Send me your PM to jbee99807@gmail.com and I will send you a picture. 11. On the 2004 Windsor it is included in a wiring harness that is above the the right knee in the dash as you sit in the drivers seat. It includes a push button and a red LED. Instructions are in section 5, security system in the spiral bound manual that came with the coach. Chuck B
  12. I had the same issue. What I did was to cut a hole in the back of the cabinet large enough for easy access at the correct height and make repairs. Lowes has 1/4 inch cabinet grate plywood that can be used to cover up the hole. Take the cut out wood with you and Lowes will match the stain in a 1/2 pint can. Good luck, Chuck B
  13. Usually if a fan speed varies like your does, its because of lack of grease/oil on the shaft that holds the bearing or bushing. Is that discussed in your manual? Does the annual PM of the unit cover that? When is the last time you had your annual PM done? Nothing lasts forever, its around 8 years old. JMHO, Chuck B
  14. There is a burglar alarm magnet switch that is our of adjustment. It feed the signal to the dash light. Chuck B
  15. If I were going to replace my shocks, I would go with what Source Manufacturing recommends. Source uses a custom made shock from Bilstein available only to Source. Scott Zimmer, the old Roadmaster plant in Oregon manager, can advise you what to do. Give him a call at 541-935-0308. Won't cost you anything to inquire. Chuck Boros
  16. I have visited both Monaco assembly lines and talked to the wire loom person. Each coach has a wire loom constructed for that coach. The loom includes All options that coach can have even though the coach might not include all of the options. The loom is installed in the coach on the drivers side where the wall and ceiling come together. Pig tails are then routed to the various areas where the option equipment are located. The Aladdin system usually connects together with the system behind the rear TV in the cabinet the TV occupies. Because of the size of the wire loom, it is hard to use a signal tone tracer/probe if that wire happens to be in the middle of the bundle of wires. Good luck, Chuck B
  17. Try Bradd and Hall in Elkhart, Indiana. They cater to motor home owners. Chuck B
  18. Send me a PM to jbee99807 @ gmail dot com. I will send you the adjustment procedure. Chuck B
  19. Through the years Monaco has installed many different options using various wirings.. It sure helps if those posting problems to include the year and model of their coach when asking for help. Chuck B
  20. If you have a Todd/Toddco transfer switch, you need to get rid of it ASAP. It has been determined to be a fire hazard. Monaco had a recall on it, but that recall is no longer valid because Monaco is no longer in business. In the mean time remove all power from it. Chuck B The picture you attached is Not a transfer switch. Chuck B
  21. I would be more concerned with frozen water lines especially the ones that are hidden from view. When water in water lines freezes, it expends in the line and ruptures them. When they all thaw out and you turn on the water, listen for broken lines. Chuck b
  22. Depending on how old the batteries are and how much sediment has collected on the inside bottom under the plates, the battery can Blow Up. Chuck B
  23. Monaco had a bad run on the module. The spring under the button was too weak to keep the button from operating due to road vibration. I would try to find a replacement module. Chuck B
