  1. You scare me with your reply that you have tires on your coach that are over 5 years old. It is the past opinion of many on this group that tires over 5 years of age are a accident waiting to happen. I remember a lady who owned a Monaco coach who thought that her tires that we "over 5 years old" were good to ride on. She had a blow out on one of her front tires causing her to travel across the median into on coming traffic hitting a car head on wiping out a family of 5. Even though the tread life on the tires looked great, The deterioration on the inside of the tire is what caused the failure. There were fine hair like cracks on the sidewalls. Do you check the air pressure each morning before you drive down the blvd? If I were you, I would rethink replacing your tires especially the front tires. Chuck B
  2. I have been on this group since it's beginning in 1998 or so. I would say that 99% of the members dealing with alternator problems will tell you the easiest way out is to have your alternator rebuilt. I have seem many members who went with another alternator, especially on the road, wished they had theirs's rebuilt. JMHO, Chuck B
  3. The transmission need to be at operating temperature before checking using the arrow method. Chuck B
  4. Send me your email address to jbee99807@gmail.com and I will send you a 2004 Windsor chassis wiring diagram. Chuck B
  5. It would help if you posted the year your Camelot was made. Chuck B
  6. Past experiences with coach owners about problems with the DUVAC circuit on the alternators by replacing them as opposed to rebuilding the alternator can cause additional problems. Is there any way you can find your original alternator and have it rebuilt? Chuck B
  7. Do yourself a favor and install a gravity fed toilet with a spray flushing wand. Camping World has them for around $200.00. Chuck B
  8. As to the capacity, there are a lot of areas in the engine where antifreeze will collect after draining the antifreeze. I would also use what is now in the engine to keep from having to flush out the old antifreeze which is very time consuming. I would add a mixture of water and antifreeze in the bottle as opposed to straight antifreeze. I would also use what is now in the engine to keep from having to flush out the old antifreeze. You also might want to consider replacing the thermostat. Chuck B
  9. WW Williams is the Allison transmission authorized distributor and repair/parts facility for Allison transmissions. Go to their web site to find the nearest dealer where you are located. Chuck B
  10. I do not "spoon feed" people. I point them in the direction I feel they need to go and let them determine what to do. Chuck B
  11. The air/HP on the roof is a generic unit capable of fitting several applications. The wiring to it, the switch settings on the circuit board, and the type thermostat used determines how a given application works. Then there is the flat ribbon cable that ties all the units together. If they cannot digitally talk to each other, they will not work the way they are designed to work. You need to make a decision as to what you want to do. If you want to stay OEM from the factory, good luck. If you want the system to work properly, you need to make some changes. Many of the components are no longer available. The new air/HP units come with new designed circuit boards that Are NOT compatible with what you have now. Any failure with what you have now requires a very costly complete change out of all associated components. Then there is the flat ribbon cables that ties the units together so they can communicate with each other. We full timed in our coach for 6 years. In order to keep the DW happy, I had to keep all the systems working the way she was use to being working. There are not many coach owners left that has the HP/furnace found on our coaches. Most had the Aqua Hot system. I suggest that you get out the manuals for your air/HP units and familiarize yourself with each of the components, how they are wired, the many option settings, to better understand what you are dealing with. 12. I posted where the 2 blue wires were attached to on my coach two post I made previous. Chuck B
  13. The circuit board in the air conditioner. I was just trying to give you an easy fix without going on the roof. Excuse me!!! Chuck B

  15. On my coach, the furnace requires a contact closure to turn it on. There are 2 blue wires coming from the furnace going to the air conditioner circuit board on the roof. Cut those wires, strip them and hold them together to see if the furnace starts. If it does, purchase a generic thermostat at Lowes such as a Honeywell Home RTH111B non-programmable Thermostat. Mount is where you can extend the 2 wires connecting it to the thermostat. You can use that Thermostat to run the furnace. Chuck B
  16. I would look at what brand transfer switch you have. If it is a Todd or Toddco switch, I would get rid of it immediately. The color of the housing is black. It has been known to catch on fire. Chuck B
  17. Monaco did not use the RR8S on the Windsor until late 2003. Chuck B
  18. Yes, wish he would share them with us or at least me. We are a dying breed. Tell him I said hello and wish him the best. Chuck B
  19. How are you charging up your house battery bank? If by generator, you need to allow the generator to run long enough to complete the 3 stages of charging. Bulk, absorption, and float charge which can take up to 4 hours or longer. Chuck B
  20. I often think of the names of coach owners from the past. One is Dave O. I hadn't seen any posts from him lately. Does anyone know anything about him? Chuck B
  21. For all you oldies who have been around in the 90"s as long as I have, I got an email from Jack. Mary asked about him a couple days ago. I got an email from him this morning. I invited him to check the monacoers dot org group out. Chuck B
  22. There is a data base All service providers use to dispatch a tow. Sometimes it is not the closest provider, but the least expensive tow which can be hundreds of miles away depending on your location. If you choose to have a technician dispatched instead of a tow, if the technician cannot get you back on the road again, you will have to pay for a tow to be dispatched. Then there is a limit as to how many miles you can be towed before a mileage charge is added to the cost. Make sure you are towed to a "authorized service facility". Chuck B
  23. The light can be removed from its housing to use. There will be a couple feet of wiring. The plastic knob allows you to wind up the wiring. Chuck B
