Gazgreg
So is the there a way to NOT deploy the entry steps? For instance when you are parked next to a curb. Edited July 9, 2023 by Gazgreg
DavidL
Well, on my Newmar, there is a switch...for just the reasons you speak of.
Wrayj1
Greg, not likely. As you know you can keep them deployed when parked for a extended time, but no way to keep from deploying. When we stayed in AZ for 3-5 months we had a set of steps with handrail and small deck, I had to crawl under to unplug the coach steps. I had planned to insert a switch to turn off power to them, but we're selling so I won't be doing that.
philcarrell
Look at switches at the entry door Mine has one.
MyronTruex
I cannot defeat mine without unplugging them. It could be a real disaster to step out without them. They will just bump up against whatever is in the way and retract when you turn the ignition key. I can see some possible issues but none that outweighs the safety of stepping out into the open air. waterskier_1
You can not prevent the steps from opening the first time you open the door after shutting off the engine (or when the engine is running). This is a safety feature to allow passengers to exit the coach. After the first time, you can use the switch near the passenger seat to either keep the steps open all the time,. - Rick N
Ivan K
I used a magnetic tape over the door frame magnetic switch to cheat step and air bladder for troubleshooting. Like others said, you don't want to step into the air if forgotten...
