  1. Shade sails on Amazon are pretty cheap, I guess adding some anchors to the coach and some type of post for the third corner, you could probably have decent shade with one of the triangle ones. If it tears up, your not out much and I doubt it would hurt the coach.
  2. The one thing I don’t understand about these inverters, is with all the technology advances in the past 20 years why are they still so big?
  3. The missing pin is 9 not 7, key pin on older VGA standard.
  4. That’s a VGA cable, probably hooked to one of the inputs on your TV, someone probably kept their laptop hooked to it in that cabinet.
  5. Just pack what you think you need and go. I used to take way too many tools and extra parts, but they were never the ones we needed. I have a small toolset now, (still probably more than I need) and someone has a key to my shop and can ship me more tools if I needed. Now if I were driving to Alaska again, I’d probably have everything everyone has mentioned in the thread plus a sat phone with internet access to you guys! —- Granville Barker 05 Dynasty
  6. You could also find some suitable plastic and a CNC shop or maker space could cut you a new plate. I made a new plate for the radio area of my dash out of some sign substrate that’s an aluminum sheet over a plastic core. I covered it with carbon fiber looking vinyl. Look at my other posts on here, there are pics somewhere. One other idea would be to 3D print a new plate. — Granville Barker 05 Dynasty
  7. Mine is on a fuse labeled unused in the rear run box, it’s on a board to the left of the big boy.
  8. I might be interested in your old sharp if you still have it.
  9. Just curious why most of the options tap into the high pressure side. I tapped into the low pressure side and ran a pipe to the other side of the coach with a valve and quick disconnect on the coach. Removed the regulator from the grill and added a hose to plug into the disconnect. I've been using it like this for about 10 years I guess, takes like 5 seconds to hook up. The hose I think was only rated for natural gas, but since this is low pressure and I disconnect and cut off the valve when I'm not grilling, it's been fine. I've smelled no gas leaks ever with this setup. https://www.amazon.com/GASPRO-Disconnect-Extension-Appliance-Certified/dp/B01M5KDC25/ref=asc_df_B01M5KDC25/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198068685752&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10351014767000919982&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9014113&hvtargid=pla-349094567654&psc=1 I think with the fittings, and the hose, I've got less than $60 invested in it.
  10. They are great, interface is a little weird, but I can turn the heat on and check the temperature in my motorhome from anywhere.
  11. I installed two in my Dynasty about two months ago. They are great, took less than 5 minutes to install each one.
  12. I’m glad I saw this thread, I would never consider a Marathon conversion now.
  13. I leave the diesel switch off most of the time, unless we need allot of hot water or we are using the furnace heat. I don’t like the smell of the diesel exhaust, and don’t want to subject neighbors to it at a campground unless necessary.
  14. In my coach there’s a splitter after the antenna amp, and the cables goto the tv’s and where the vcr used to be from there. The splitter is behind the panel holding the tv amp in my dynasty.
  15. Now I do recall my wife having issues with a heating pad not getting hot on the inverter, and I think it was a Braun product too.
  16. Ray, What brand tire did you have the blow out on? — Granville Barker
  17. No, it’s the Xantech MSW that came with the coach. In my 16 years with the coach, the only problem I can recall related to the MSW was an old Dyson vacuum cleaner dying. So if your not trying to run a residential fridge, it doesn’t seem to matter much for the most part. I wonder if it was an issue with your Braun charger. — Granville Barker 05’ Dynasty Countess
  18. My Phillips sonicare chargers work in the coach, and they will charge the Braun toothbrushes.
  19. I used to run campgroundreviews.com, you can search the site for big-rig friendly, or whatever amenities you want. They also have an app RVLife that will show you the reviews as well. I would say it’s really hard for one persons list of favorite campgrounds to satisfy another. We usually travel with kids, so a playground and full hookups are important to me, but probably not others. Anyway the website is a good resource to help find a campground to meet your individual needs. You can click on a reviewer to see all his reviews and find his favorite campgrounds. — Granville Barker 05 Dynasty
  20. My manual is in the coach in storage, but I think there’s a paragraph about using the engine diag button to get fault codes flashed similar to the abs. I moved my silverleaf from my Windsor to my Dynasty when I got it 16 years ago, so I’ve never dealt with that either.
  21. The part on the right is part of the demco excalibar 1 tow bar, that’s the tool to release the locks when you unhook.
  22. Steer clear of the blue-ox blue coiled wire to your toad, they disintegrate after a few years. The red cables from Demco last much longer.
  23. I put a mark on the floor where the wheels need to be for the right weight distribution. Tesla’s are about the same in either direction. Don’t forget to check your coach weight too and adjust you tag axel pressure with the trailer attached and loaded. — Granville Barker 05’ Dynasty
  24. Actually the yellow line was for towing my model 3. I was pulling it into the trailer forwards, which probably wasn’t the best way. Backing in is much easier I’ve found with the model y, you just need to fold the mirrors before you get to the cables on the door. The model 3 doesn’t have a hitch, and the ones you can add don’t support the tongue weight of my trailer. The campground near my wife’s grandma only had backins, like so many out there, so I really wanted to be able to move the trailer around in tight spots when needed. I’m on my first trip with the Y in tow, and so far it’s all gone great. It does take me considerably longer to hook up the trailer, load the car, and tie it down properly. I can still take the model 3, or any other car that will fit in the trailer on trips. Warning: if you get a Tesla, it won’t be long before you will want to take it on trips with you. One day I hope we see a Tesla semi based motorhome with autopilot.
  25. I back my model Y in the trailer and climb out the drivers window. When I lock the car it rolls the window up. I had hoped I would be able to use summon to load/unload the car but the ramp is too steep to summon the car in, and summon won’t work to unload because the Tesla can’t get a gps signal. I have enough room to open the door a little and roll down the window to climb back in to unload the car. It’s not too bad as there’s a board I can grab while climbing in and out and the fender is there to step on. The truck we used to tow wasn’t noticeable while driving the motorhome, but the aluminum trailer with the Model Y in it slows me down on steep grades. — Granville Barker 05’ Dynasty
