  1. Sure seems like CYA, doesn't it?
  2. When I installed our ML-ARC, I replaced the battery boost switch with the Blue Sea remote switch. Found 2 wires from the RRB to the FRB and used those to connect to the switch. It is superior to the boost switch as the lights in the Blue Sea switch let you know what position the ML-ARC is in. Auto, connected, or disconnected. Very pleased.
  3. Just my two cents, we removed the carpet and the tile and had Ernie install engineered wood on all surfaces except for the driver side slide floor. Love it and wouldn't go back. Been in since 2014, still completely satisfied!
  4. I had Josam's change ours out. It was only slightly more money than repacking the bearings with grease. I don't remember the actual cost, it was some time ago.
  5. I agree, but it was easy and it's now done. After everything else that has been done, it seemed like a logical suggestion that it might be sucking air. New controller in and testing now.
  6. I almost never raise my tag. My drive is very close to the 23,000# as it is, loading it up with the extra tag weight makes me a bit uncomfortable. Actually can't even think of the last time I raised it.
  7. So the latest, we replaced the fuel line, actually a fairly easy job as there was a large enough hole in the firewall to allow the new line to go through. I am very thankful for having a very mechanically inclined and talented small wife who loves to do and help with these projects, so it was she who crawled under and around and ran the new line. We got optimistic after the gen ran for 1 1/2 hours loaded and unloaded, our fingers were crossed, but it started surging badly after all that time. Good news is the new board from Flight Systems just arrived and after some time to cool things off we'll stick it in and see what happens.
  8. I will as soon as I get it done. I planned to do it today, but unexpected visitors puts it off to tomorrow, and I just upped my control board order to overnight so I am hoping to do both tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
  9. Yes, I plan to install the board myself, seems quite straightforward. We are in Montana right now and will be making our south to Lubbock, then eastward.
  10. I couldn't wait, after this week I will be on the move again with hot weather forecast, so I ordered a board from Flight Systems. Everything I can find on the web is positive about them. Fuel line tomorrow and hopefully board on Thursday.
  11. Just had an interesting talk with Cummins in Salt Lake City. I called to see availability for a 300-5961 control board and was told no availability, no replacement part info, and then was on hold for over 40 minutes when I gave up trying to get some info. What is particularly interesting is that part number is supposedly in stock on Cummins website and available for shipping, but if the fuel line doesn't work I am leaning hard towards the Flight Systems board.
  12. Sounds very interesting. The fuel line goes on tomorrow. I'll let you know, hopefully without a lot of drama. By the way, how many hours do you have on your gen? We have 1725.
  13. Has anyone had any experience with a Flight Systems control board? $595 vs $930, and with a 2 year warranty. Or even Dinosaur?
  14. I have also replaced the pump. I also would think a small crack in the top of the feed fuel line could easily suck air and not leak fuel. The fuel pump sucks fuel out of the tank at the top basically under no real pressure, and a tiny bit of air would make it stumble. Am I wrong for not worrying about the return line? Again with the several hours of good running then bad is the puzzling part. The place where I had the new fuel line made said they have seen some old lines with a "flapper" in the hose, a small piece of a deteriorating hose that gets flipped up with the flow and slows it.
  15. I am so frustrated with it by now that I would pop in a control board if I was sure that was it. I don't disagree on seeing a leak, I am sure I am reaching for straws and sucking a bit of air would cause the rough running. I'll find out in a couple days, but I am leaning more and more towards the control board.
  16. I have checked the brushes and they are fine. It is puzzling, we ran it for 5-6 hours after we had replaced the actuator and it ran fine until it didn't, high load, no load has no effect. After replacing the fuel pump it ran about 45 minutes fine until it starting surging and stumbling again.
  17. I am also having a heck of a time with my 10kw Onan. It is surging or stumbling much of the time. I have changed out the fuel and air filter, replaced the governor actuator, and now the fuel pump, it is still doing it, almost quits but not quite. It is finally throwing a 36 code. It was suggested to me that perhaps the fuel line has a small crack or hole after all these years and is sucking air, so just had a new line made up, and will install it in a couple of days when I am stopped. I have been using Onan troubleshooting and have done everything down to the next item on the list and that is the control board. Hoping the fuel line fixes it, it sure acts like it has to be a fuel problem.
  18. The Michelin X Coach Z, and the XZA2 Energy are labeled coach and RV tires by Michelin, although after 3 sets that cracked in 3 1/2 years I'll never use them again. Toyo calls its M144 a regional and urban bus tire. Continental calls its HA3 a coach tire. If you are only referring to its particular UV protection I think you are missing out on some excellent tires. We have had the M144's on for 4 years, excellent ride, better than the Michelins in my opinion and my wife's. Still look like new 40,000 miles in. I wouldn't put another GY on our coach even if they said they were fully protected from sun, ozone, UV, etc, they are still awful tires in my opinion.
  19. I would call Chris at Talin RV in Florida and ask him, he is a Girard dealer. According to the parts list for the Girard awning, you are looking for Rubber Seal for Flush Mount - Black (per foot) Girard part # 1500502-99
  20. This is the info I have which dates back to 2019. Hope it helps. Lisa Foster ACTIA Corp. 2809 Bridger Ct. Elkhart, IN 46514 Account Specialist PH: 574-266-2640 Fax: 574-266-2740
  21. Also when I had my problem I was able to contact Actia and got help.
  22. Gary, the main regulator on the tank reduces the pressure of the LP into the coach, if it fails it is designed to stop all flow of propane from the tank. If you add a secondary regulator to a line that is already regulated it won't work. Example, I use a fire pit that uses gas from the LP tank on the coach after the regulator, I had to remove the fire pit's regulator to get it to work, same for my Weber grill, had to remove its regulator as well. And just in my personal experience my 4D batteries have been good for 6 1/2 years.
