Fuel gauge not working
Just Jim replied to Norman Austin's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
Anyone know if our gauges are electronic? The Holley website says it will work with any electronic gauge. I'll do some checking to make sure it is compatible before I order one. I'm hoping I can find a loose ground or some other simple fix. -
Fuel gauge not working

Well even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while. Found the sending unit this time. It is behind about 3 different pick up lines going into the tank... I think they are the aqua hot, engine and genset pick ups. Anyway, at least I found it. I'm going to do some testing on it to try and determine if its the sender or the gauge or something in between. I've seen the Holley unit on other threads. Curious if anyone has used this as a replacement for the Centroid? Its not bad at $100. https://www.holley.com/products/gauges_and_gauge_accessories/gauge_accessories_and_harnesses/parts/19-250 -
Fuel gauge not working

I also have a gauge showing full. I've looked a couple times and can't even find the sending unit on my tank. Taking a short trip this weekend, so I'm going to look one more time for it before I head out. At least this time I have the tank full to the top. I should be good for a 150 mile trip. -
this is what I used to fix the non powered subwoofer issue. That woofer is in the back of the kitchen slideout and next to impossible for me to get to unless I remove a lot of plumbing drains etc.... so I just used what I had. Found on Amazon. Some of the Windsor owners can chime in for confirmation, but I think Monaco changed the Windsor in 2003. Before that they had a steel upper structure. If you do a search for the brochures they pretty much all mention what kind of chassis each one had. The Dynasty, Executive and Signature were the top of the line Monaco. Holiday Rambler was a sister company with similar models.... you should check them out as well as the Beaver brand. Those three brands were built very similarly. Happy hunting.

in the picture above with the yellow wire attached to a button... that is the program button for the touch pad. You can test the keypad to see if it is functional by hitting 555 or 556. That should lock everything, bays and door. If you don't have keys for the bays, then don't try this, because if it works, then you will not be able to open the bays!!! I did not have any key fobs for mine, so I just bought the new transmitter and it came with two programmed key fobs. Much easier for me to just swap out the box and no programming required. There are step by step instructions on this site, just do a search.

do you have a touchpad beside the door? If so, you can use it to open the baggage doors. Replacing the keypad if you have one is pretty easy. Also, if it has the keyfob type system then that controller was located under the access panel on the top of the dash. The touchpad wiring is under the passenger side armrest. Just make sure you keep the terms keyfob and touch pad separate...they use the same actuators, but are different systems. The picture of the black box is for the keyfob. The wiring is wiring for the touchpad. Hope this helps.

Tragic RV Front Tire Blowout Accident
Just Jim replied to Dr4Film's topic in General Motorhome Discussion
That is what I have heard to Byron... I just hope if it ever happens to me, that I'll have the ability to stay on the accelerator. It really seems so contrary to what you would think needs to be done. -

very sad... this just hurts my heart. -
I had this issue and thought it would be an easy fix. Just lightly sand and spray on some new clear coat, right? I knew it was not going to blend well, but was hoping to stop the peeling. Long story short.... the paint is really thin. using 1500 grit, I was in the primer in no time. So, my easy fix became a repaint... and matching 20 year old paint is a nightmare. My new motto... it doesn't look great... but it looks better than it did before. I am hopefully retiring in a few, so my plan is to repaint the entire coach. Should be a fun project. The difficult part is not the painting... it is controlling the environment. Temperature, humidity, lighting for a vehicle of this size is a challenge.

Joel, It sounds like you have a key fob that will open the main door, but not the bay doors? If you have a key fob that opens the door, then I think it is possible to add a key pad beside the door. My coach came with both, but when I bought it, there were no fobs and the keypad did not work. So I replaced the key fob transmitter that is located under the dash access panel. I also replaced the keypad that is by the door. Since you don't have existing wiring (unless it was an option and they prewired for it) the keypad may be a challenge to get wired. If you have wiring for a keypad, it will be in the arm rest on the passenger side. I have attached pictures of the transmitter in the dash, the keypad and the keypad wiring in the armrest. I hope that helps. All of those products can be purchased and there is a great write up in this forum about installing. Just do a search for it.

On my old Dynasty, I used the permabond tape to cover a crack. It worked really well and the top section was white so it did not show much. If the section is painted, then may look much worse. Perhaps the tape is paint-able? Otherwise I would think fiberglass repair and paint. I'm curious if there are other suggestions and will follow.

I would rather sell both and I had them listed at $150 plus shipping, but make me an offer. I think it would be better if you took them apart. -

I bought my mirrors from another guy on this message board. His had the turn signals in the mirror and the chrome was in much better condition. New ones are about $450 each I think. Mine do have several areas of the chrome finish peeling, etc. The mirrors are working and in good condition. I've seen some people paint the mirrors instead of getting the chrome re-done, so these would be ideal for that or as parts to replace the internal workings. -

That is correct. No turn signal in the mirrors. The ones I installed had the amber turn signals. -
Mirrors are functional, but the outside chrome finish has some blemishes. I posted this as a tag onto another listing, but have not gotten a single response, so either it was not seen or I priced them to high. So, make me an offer if you need the components for one or plan on painting them. I hate to throw these away. Jim
