  1. I have a C13 caterpillar engine. My hydraulic Steering hose on the pressure side is leaking has anybody had this problem before not sure if I can fix it or I have to replace the hose. Thanks Kevin
  2. He was a very particular guy had a 2009 beaver Marquis 45 foot. In Excellent condition. His story sounded similar to yours he thought he had it fixed a couple times ended up not fixed. I think he said he was a retired caterpillar mechanic.
  3. I was on a rally last summer. And one of the guys there had that exact same problem he finally gave up drilled a hole in the track and put a hitch pin in.
  4. Well I thought I do a write up on my conclusion to this problem bottom line batteries were bad. But I’ve learned a lot about the electrical system on my couch. I’ve upgraded the remotes to ME -ARC and installed a BMK. I also had to upgrade my AGS. In the process I found that one of my temperature sensors was broken and non-functional but it wasn’t a big deal because I had to run a new network cable from the BMK to the inverter anyway. I’m still drawing about 14 Amps with basically nothing else on but the refrigerator. Not a big deal I have 640 amp hours. It sat in front of my house for three days not plugged in and I still had 40% battery capacity. I do have solar panels so during the day it’s not drawing hardly any amps. Thanks again for everyone’s help
  5. I need to clarify.I’m not having any problem with the Toyo tires it was the Goodyear tires .
  6. Whatever you do don’t buy Goodyear. When I bought my rig they threw in brand new tires I didn’t know any better. 15,000 miles later two of the rear tires went bad.I replace them with Toyo. 20,000 miles and 2years later the steer tires went bad replace them with Michelin‘s. I noticed a huge difference in handling.
  7. I bought a hydraulic cooler from radiator supply house last summer and delivered it right to the campground was highly recommended by other RV owners
  8. Not sure about your particular coach but mine goes to the wet-bay area and is labeled satellite and cable input
  9. I just purchased a tailgater. In my wet-bay there are two coax cables connections.one Labeled cable one satellite. In my entertainment center where I keep the Wally there were two coax cable’s not labeled I put aluminum foil in the end and tested for continuity on the other end I got lucky the first one worked I hooked it up and everything worked fine
  10. I just purchased temp stick for monitoring the temperature in my RV during this cold spell in the Midwest I don’t have my RV winterized .so far it’s working pretty good it emails me every 4 hours on the temperature inside the shop. And I have it set an alert if it gets below 34° . To test it I set the sensor outside and it alerted me by text message right away.
  11. Not sure if this will apply in your situation but two years ago I was going to replace my slide covers. I wasn’t for sure if I could do the job so I started with one and pulled the material off. The material that was rolled up on the roller looked brand new and there was enough of it to cover the slide so I reversed it that was two years ago And it still looks good today. Like I said not sure if this helps.
  12. I just got done dealing with this I tried to buy new tail lights but could not find any. I ended up just cleaning the ones I already had. I took them off the couch and in a laundry sink wet sanded them with 2000 grit sandpaper until all the oxidization was off. Then I used Maguires rubbing compound and buff them out with a buffer and then I put a coat of Maguires wax on them they look brand new. I also clean the inside out with Dawn dish soap and a microfiber towel.
  13. I’ve had the Air Force 1 for 5 years no problems. I transferred it from a pick up truck to a jeep with no problem still working.
  14. Well I finally got to talk to somebody at Magnum. With the inverters in the on position three amp draw is normal. He said that’s what it takes to energize the inverter. I also talk to him about his BMK/Shunt. The problem with that particular model is it will only read the amperage that the inverters are drawing from the batteries it won’t show how many amps are coming from the house side. even though the house negative is connected to the shunt. I’m leaning towards a victron battery shunt . Has anybody installed one of these before? From what I’ve read it seems pretty easy and user friendly with a Bluetooth mobile app.
  15. Yes I have 8 AGM batteries my inverters are magnum MS2812. And yes I was having problems prior to installing the new batteries the old batteries were toast three of them were actually cracked open. Didn’t know that until I took them out to get my core charge back. I replaced one of my positive cables also it was bad. in the beginning I was going by the amp draw on the Aladdin system. The last time I posted those were amp draws from the battery negative side with a multimeter. I’m still processing all the information that everybody’s posted I will let you know what I come up with. I have a call into magnum about their BMK system to see if it’s something I’m capable of doing. Thanks for everyone’s help
  16. Between the inverter and the Aladdin system I’m drawing approximately 10 A . That doesn’t include the other things that draw amps with everything turned off like the other inverter. I have my RV parked in a shop that has no windows and I have turned off the lights and walked around in the dark in that thing and there is nothing on no humming no lights no motors running.
  17. Well I took the RV to a mechanic which I’ve known for a lot of years after 30 to 45 minutes explaining the situation to him he was pretty determined that my batteries were bad he told me to charge them up disconnect them from the couch and let them sit for 4 to 5 days. I did that the batteries never lost hardly any voltage. i’ve narrowed it down to two problems first I did like you said I hooked my multimeter up to the batteries and then I started disconnecting the feeds in the front run box before I started I was having a 4 amp draw coming from the batteries this is with both inverter disconnected and the battery switches in the on position. One by one I disconnected the feeds from to the front run box and one of them when disconnected the amp draw went to zero I hooked the other three back up left that one unhooked. The Aladdin system Seems to be the only thing affected by that feed. I haven’t tested everything but most things seem to work. The second problem is with the driver side inverter with all the breakers in the off position and Inverter in the off position I have a .3 amp draw. This is normal according to Magnum technical support and that is what the other inverter is drawing also. As soon as I turn on the inverter on the amp draw goes up to 3 to 4 A. With all the breakers in the off position and disconnected from shore power. I have three projects going on with the RV right now and this being the most challenging. Thanks for everybody’s help
  18. If you have solar panels I think you need to change something on the charge controller. Not 100% sure on that.
  19. I’ve had trouble with my door also this last summer we were locked in the coach ended up opening the window reaching out opening the door. After I took everything apart one of the door rod clips broke I was able to find something that worked at the hardware store but it wasn’t an exact fit. Does anybody know where to get parts for these latches?
  20. I have a switch right inside the door. The step will stay out when the coach is not running.
  21. LOL So much for traveler choice awards. Update on my situation I did send my LNB into to Rf Mogul and they tested it and it’s working properly. They’re going to use that LNB on their system.
  22. Well I finally got the bird circuitboard and installed it the other day. Everything seems to be functioning properly on the big boy and the bird circuit other than on the eight pin connector the number five is supposed to have 4 V and it has 12v not sure what that’s all about I haven’t traced the wire to find out where it goes. So I unplugged the RV from shore power and flipped all the breakers on made sure everything was turned off in the coach and three or four hours later I went from approximately 12.8 V on the Aladdin system down to 12.1. I plugged it back in the shore power charged everything up. I disconnected the inverters on the positive post turned everything off again overnight. Next morning batteries were dead less than 5 V. A buddy of mine was thinking one of my inverters was bad but I think I ruled that out. My shop is really dark when all the lights are off and I walked all around looked in everything there’s nothing on or lit up and I can’t hear nothing where is all this power going? I have an appointment with a guy in a week and a half to check the amperage or current draw from the batteries. I know there’s a current draw because you pull off the positive post there’s a big spark I’m not sure what that’s gonna do it’s just gonna tell me how many amps are drawn
  23. Hello Richard, The reason I was looking at the Hughes RV 220-50SP. Because it also had a surge protector Built into it. I’ve debated this issue for years reading different post some say I need additional protection and some say I don’t. My transfer switch/surge protector is model number surge guard 40250.
  24. I’ve seen a lot of different answers to this debate I’ve had my RV for four years and I’ve never used any additional surge protection. This is what’s in my RV I am considering buying this because I have been in some RV parks with some very low voltage Hughes Autoformers RV220-50SP Voltage Booster (with Surge Protection), 1 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXL9YJV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_ogMTFbKSCD9QB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1.
  25. I did a load test on the house batteries all good. I took the big boy apart again it looked just like it did after I cleaned it in the spring. I think it’s my bird relay I took it out everything looks good clean no loose connections or burnt marks. I have 12.96 V on chassis side and house side of the big boy relay and the two Green wires Whether I’m plugged into shore power or unplugged from shore power. The only time it changes is when I turn the chassis or House batteries off. I did purchase a Big Boy Relay on eBay and installed it and nothing changed. I picked it up pretty cheap hundred bucks with delivery so I have an extra one. I ordered a bird relay from PDX Rv I’m not sure when it will get here ordered it last Monday haven’t heard from them. I also checked the salesman switch and it appears to be functioning properly also. And when I hit the switch for the power boost the big boy clicks but nothing changes there’s still 12.96 V on each side. I did read the article on house batteries not charging and the voltages did not match what they’re supposed to.
