  1. Cathy, the drain hose was filled with water? Sounds like the pump was bad. Gary 05 AMB DST
  2. Jim, I used a regular battery charger plugged into a inverter circuit or by running the generator. Gary 05 AMB DST
  3. Cathy, on my 05 Ambassador, the rear of the tank is higher than the front. From the front, the water level is even with the top of the tank but if you open the access panel on the passenger side you will see the water is about 2" below the top. Gary 05 AMB DST
  4. I had the same problem and I think it is the washer that seals the turning reel on the water inlet. I just eliminated the reel hose and put a new short hose that connects to the supply hose. Just waiting to get the courage to remove the whole reel assembly to rebuild it. The assembly is attached to the bottom of the upper floor and the lag bolts are hard to get to. Gary 05 AMB DST
  5. My 05 Ambassador's passenger side roof beltline caulking dried out and cracked. It caused the luan to delaminate. I wasn't aware of this potential problem and never checked it. This was within 4years since bought new. All those days facing east with the sun beating on the roof. I watch it closely now. Gary 05 AMB DST
  6. Kevin, where is the awning relay located. I've heard that the wire is too small. I like the use of knightmoves. Maybe I'll write a song about it. Gary 05 AMB DST
  7. Robert and Aimee, Doesn't the ATC light refer to automatic traction control? Did you accidently turn on the ATC on the console switch? Do you have the owner's manual? Gary 05 AMB DST
  8. At what temperature does the warning light come on? Gary 05 AMB DST
  9. I am trying to understand the thermostat and dip switch. I believe that in my 05 Ambassador it had the CCC thermostat. I see CCC2 mentioned a lot. I remember seeing that when you install a new AC, you have to set the dip switches to match the previous setting. I also saw that you can change the board from the old AC to the new AC and it will be set to work off of the CCC settings. This seems much easier than getting a CCC2 thermostat and setting the dip switches even though I already have a CCC2 waiting in the wings.🤔 As Judge Janine would say, "What say you?" Gary 05 AMB DST
  10. Todd, my temperature will go over 200 then the fan kicks in and it goes down to 180. I have the Cummins add-on thermostatic fan clutch that was installed in 06, 07. Could you have that? Gary 05 AMB DST
  11. Art, helicopter tape was the name of a tape used in Viet Nam on helicopter blades to protect the leading edges from chips. But those dam hill boys in Nascar stole it and call it Racers tape. Amazon has it if you go that route. Gary 05 AMB DST
  12. Art, just curious, is it cracked inside and outside? Gary 05 AMB DST
  13. Matt, did you get my message? Gary 05 AMB DST
  14. Matt, I'll take the 5 button thermostat. Gary05 AMB DST gryhester@yahoo.com
  15. Bob, in my case I just drove as usual and checked the level. If the level gets too low, the check engine light will come on. I don't think that there is any large air traps in the system. Gary 05 AMB DST
  16. Boy, this is getting scary as the parts problems are getting closer to 2005. Gary 05 AMB DST
  17. Todd, When I changed my coolant I drained it from the radiator. I then filled it with distilled water and ran it to operating (open thermostat) temperature. I did this 3 three times till the water showed no coolant. I filled it with Fleetguard ES Compleat. 1,000,000 mile coolant and no SCA. I took the water canisters to various Take 5 oil change shops for disposal and a tip. Disposal was the hardest thing to accomplish. Bought an extra Compleat as the level goes down as the voids get filled. Gary 05 AMB DST Todd, I used the radiator petcock. Didn't want to mess with the hoses. Turn on the heater full blast to flush it. Gary 05 AMB DST
  18. Matt, could you give some information on the model you used for replacement. Thanks, Gary 05 AMB DST
  19. Rikadoo, Do you have a bunch of things hanging on a key ring that you use for the ignition switch? I had that problem and now just keep the key in the ignition. Gary 05 AMB DST
  20. Ed, after many trips to the Wapakoneta, assembly plant, while at the ramblin'pushers maintenance rally, I learned that "all" wiring is run in the upper right corner of the roof. They had a floor plan of the coach that stood vertically that they were working on and manually ran each wire from the rear corner to the location of the device. I don't remember if the wire is run over or under the insulation but it should be easy to find it by removing a ceiling light. The bad thing is replacing a failing wire, though the talk of using the ductwork as a path seems convenient. Gary 05 AMB DST
  21. Rick, I don't even want to picture you seeping on the bed. Gary 05 AMD DST
  22. I cut an access door on the end of the bed storage space. Just lay on the floor to access the storage area. Gary 05 AMB DST
  23. I've been with Pressure Pro since 06. Old system but simple. I am anti-electronics. Gary 05 AMB DST
