  1. Just looked at Veurinks (Grand Rapids, MI) parts website and they list a center brake light but no dimensions. Give them a call to check fit... Adam
  2. Back to the wipers! Had ongoing issue with wipers stopping (thermal overload built into motor?). Replaced motor and problem reoccured and found that there was binding of the shaft coming out through the cowl. The round spring clip behind the wiper arm was too tight and the shaft seemed to be binding, too. Pryed the spring clip out a bit to provide a little clearance and gave the shaft a shot of silicone lube. No problems since and give the shaft and behind cowl linkages a shot of silicone lube periodically just in case. And agree that 28" blades has got to help, too.
  3. Think Monaco purchased axles complete with brakes and drums from Dana at that time. Should be an axle part number and manufacturer on your data sheet pasted on a wall or inside a cabinet. Once you ID the assembly (p/n and s/n), call their customer service number and they should have all the part numbers for you. Adam 2010 HR Neptune 37PDQ
  4. Was contemplating a radio change a couple of years ago after the Sirius function crumpted on my Magnadyne 1.5 din. Contacted Magnadyne and they volunteered they have a 1.5 to 1 din adaptor and also would make a plug 'n play harness for any non Magnadyne radio for a reasonable charge. Decided to purchase a stand alone Sirius receiver that plugs into the Aux port so didn't follow through with Magnadyne. Worth a call to them... Adam, 2010 Neptune 37PDQ, 2019 Jeep Cherokee
  5. Contacted by 2 members of this group and they were mailed to (hopefully) happy homes!
  6. Try PROGRESSIVE DYNAMICS in Marshall, MI. American made with a long RV history. The transfer switch I installed after the ESCO failed works great without hum. Lots of confusion with the two non-related companies sharing the same name.
  7. I replaced the 2 Carrier AC units last week and kept the 2 remotes. The units are from the 2008-2010 period before Carrier dropped out of the RV business. According to the HR build sheet they are for the Carrier model 68RV14113A units and control the fan, cooling, heat pump and propane furnace. If anyone needs a replacement, they're yours for the postage. Email me direct at aghyobo at aol dot com.
  8. Have Carrier ACs and had the same problem twice. First time it was something in the drain hose...disconnected hose at inside connection and used compressor set at very low pressure and blew out the obstruction. Second time was found when I was doing my once in awhile fin cleaning. Popped the plastic cover hiding the condesate catch basin...gross junk found and removed. A pain but if on the roof for something else, good idea to pop the shroud and clean the unit.
  9. My 2010 Neptune 37PDQ ISB has the primary filter on road side behind the AC condenser and secondary on road side higher up on engine...long reach.
  10. Previous coach was a 1998 Endeavor with ISB engine. Had a blown fuse in early 2000's and HR/Monaco tech service said to increase fuse by 5 amps...don't remember what the factory installed amperage was. Fuse was in FRB, followed their recommendation and had no more issues through 2010 trade in.
  11. My Neptune has a 75 gallon tank that trapped me on our first long trip. It should get over 500 miles on a full tank but didn't come close. Seems the filler pipe configuration causes the fuel pump to kick off way too early. I use a flashlight with every fill and continue pumping until the fuel gets near the top of the fill neck. Usually adds another 10-12 gallons, I reset one of the trip odometers and refill at around 450-500 miles. The fuel "gage" is just a guide, not gospel.
  12. Tom, disposed of all the ESCO paperwork so can't recover the specifics. Was within days of leaving for Florida...had to act quickly! As I indicated, the unit is made in Marshall Michigan down the road from where I live...called, picked it up, installed in the cold and on my way the next morning. I also have the Progressive Industries (different company, similar name!) HW50C surge protector upstream of the transfer switch (again, great info learned at the Chapter 419 in 2011 from Dennis Pybus). This setup has worked well. The first year I had the HW50C was at a Florida campground that had upgraded and installed new power pedestals...got an "open neutral" warning. Campground owner was ticked, called his installer who found that the pedestal's internal neutral was not properly connected by the manufacturer. Repaired and confirmed by the HW50C. Thought the IOTA affair was history but it does keep coming up. And recommend supporting a great local business....Progressive Dynamics!
  13. Navistar replaced my IOTA at a Chapter 419 gathering at the time of the recall campaign. The replacement was a noisy ESCO which failed within about 5 years. Purchased a Progressice Dynamics unit and it has been trouble free and quiet so there is another option. And it`s made in Marshall Michigan!
  14. The PTCR does not stink and I'm ready to get serious about replacing the Carriers. Veurinks just quoted Dometic units complete with new thermostats, wiring and lots of labor so think they're on the wrong track...expect an update from them early next. What I need is more current information about the "most logical" Coleman unit that utilizes the Carrier remote. The remote controls not only the heat/cool of the roof top unit but the propane heat and should be the way to go...if available. Anyone do a similar Carrier replacement lately? Adam
  15. Chased a similar problem and if you have the River Park box, start there. Had a bad pin connector...solved with a small brad (nail) to take up the slack at the pin.
  16. Just put the bus in storage but will have it out around June 9. Will get my nose calibrated, pull the PTCR and give it a sniff! Thanks!
  17. Yup, it sure is a Carrier unit! The installed capacitor which checked "OK" is a "start/run" and the only other component that may need to function in the parts breakdown is item #32, a "start thermistor" that I didn't remove or check out. Not sure what it does or if it is important to the startup problem. There are no other capacitors shown in the parts breakdown or found when I opened the unit up. And the AC unit is at that "suspect age" so dealing with leaks is not high on my list...want a long term solution rather than a stopgap. However, if there are any thoughts about the "start thermistor", please post!
  18. 2010 HR Neptune 37PBQ The rear AC unit is no longer cooling...interior fan functions but compressor "stumbles" repeatedly when trying to start up and no cooling. Removed the capacitor and it tested "OK" so assume the unit is ready for the scrap heap. Looking for the best approach to replace at least the rear unit and probably do the front as well since it is the same vintage. About 2-3 years ago there was info on a Coleman cooling/heating unit that was supposed to work with the existing Carrier remote control unit as long as the Coleman adaptor plate was installed. Part numbers were 47004B876 (roof unit) and 8530A5221 (adaptor plate). Since the Carrier controls both the AC and the furnace, the replacement should function in the same manner. Any newer info and direction from the group regarding this potentially expensive repair? Adam
  19. If your Cheetah is on a 4-bag Roadmaster chassis, yes go with the ride enhancement kit. Source Engineering is the supplier of choice and it sure helps keep the driver planted in his seat and hanging clothes on the closet rod! Since you seem to going after major chassis improvements, the best one I did was converting to the TRW steering gear. And congratulations on not getting hurt with the failed trailing arm!
  20. My Neptune had a similar issue and the coach has a fuse box in a rear compartment with a bunch of fuses protecting the lines going to the "trailer" plug. Check to see if you have a similar set up.
  21. Think wiper motors have a thermal overload function. If yes, it will reset itself after cooling down. So possible bad motor and/or binding linkage causing motor to overload and stop. If wiper arm stops "mid swipe" that's another clue.
  22. HR/Monaco diesel motorhomes on Roadmaster chassis used Eaton axles, gassers used Dana products. Then Dana purchased the Eaton Axle and Brake Div in 1997 and continued the design and manufacturing. Dana has continued to support the product. There should be a metal tag attached to the axle IDing model, ratio and serial number but using the build sheet is cleaner! Spent many years at Eaton making a fine product.... Adam 2010 Neptune 38PDQ
  23. REV replaced the IOTA transfer switch as part of the recall campaign with an ESCO. It failed within 3-4 years and I replaced it with a Progressive Dynamics PD52 unit...quiet and still functioning. I do an annual check of lugs on the PD52 and the hard wired Progressive Industries surge protector just in case something vibrates loose. Very happy with both units! Adam, 2010 Neptune 37PDQ, 2019 Jeep Cherokee
  24. Noticed in the pictures that there is a boot that seals the hole in the floor. Guess they forgot to install one in my coach and it is the main entry point for mice...no boot but a good trap located there during storage! Anyone know of a split boot I can install there? And yes, you should find zerks on the U-joints and slip joint. Adam 2010 Neptune 37PDQ
  25. Don't have a picture but suggest a "seat rail mount" that can be found on Amazon. Various designs have a phone/tablet mount attached to a flexible or adjustable goose neck. Mine screwed to the bottom of the dash, holds an old netbook (with very old GPS nav software). Even was able to clamp my XM receiver to the arm. Lost the flat dash platform vs our previous '98 Endeavor requiring a new mounting approach. Check out the Amazon options. Adam 2010 Neptune 37PDQ, 2019 Jeep Cherokee EDIT! Here's a picture. Face of mount has Velcro strategically placed to hold my netbook.
