  1. Strange how Rev handled the whole purchase. When Rev took over Fleetwood they continued stocking parts for legacy units. The same "good old boys" manned the tech support. They even honoured warrantees on vehicles that were sold by the old Fleetwood. But once they had Monaco everything changed. What an industry!
  2. Did you call Tim at RVcams? He is the Defacto expert on this subject. He will solve your problem.
  3. The only thing obvious about GY tires is that they are horrible. River cracks, no warantee. The G670 has to be the worst rv tire ever made. Go back about 12 years on IRV2 and read all the complaints.
  4. Does your dash have a removable panel close to the steering wheel? Just a few screws and you can see a lot of wiring. Look for a 12 volt inline fuse holder coming from the monitor. Your monitor is likely dead.
  5. This thread has become like a Monty Pythan skit. A DP is not an abbreviation for a Diplomat. I give up.
  6. Look on the left side of the dash. Just under the plastic dash. Should be a round port wuth a large screw on cover. I have assumed you are having problems in a dp. Please do not muddy the waters with anything to do with a pickup. Different animal.
  7. OBD2 is only for gasoline vehicles. Diesel use a different system. Almost always there is a port by your left foot. Another connector may be in the rear run bay.
  8. When my Monitor( Sony) startedt to act up it died within a few days. Tim at Rvcams is an expert and a Monaco owner. He will have everything that you need.
  9. It seems that this tyoe of toilet can be problematic. If you surf any of the rv forums that include entry level bath and half they all compain about toilets that do notwork well. I think some must hae a seperate pump as it is difficult to access the mrchanisms. Our unit is a 2008 and other than using too much warer the only problem has benn the soft touch push button. I supppose after this post it will quit. The very best rv toilet was the Sealand. It came in 2 heights ,porcelain bowl and a ball and seal system tjat was easy to fix. I think Dometic now makes that toilet
  10. Unless something has changed the Tecma is not built by Thetford. It is European. French I think. there are not many macerating toilets that are designed for a NON drop situation. Marine people use Tecmas. You can spend over $2000 for a good one.
  11. Nice to see a positive post on this subject. If only someone made a new door gaskets. We are looking at buying an addition to the fleet. A 34 ft. Used dp. I know it will have the Norcold. If we do buy something the 12 volt unit might an option.
  12. Where did you get the idea that 12 volt is becoming an industry standard. I would guess that when it comes to motorhomes maybe 1 out of a thousand is 12 volt. I am not referring to puny little 8 cu. ft. units. Why would anyone want a little fridge when you can carry lots of cold beer and rock hard ice cream. You sure would not renovate you stick home kitchen and install a dorm fridge. We have a 22 in our Dynasty but the 18 Samsungs are big enough. Bigger is better.
  13. You say that all the grounds are cleaned. Are you sure that you found them all? There are a bunch. Ypuhave to remove the cables and clean the male end on the frame as well as the terminal. Have you ever checked all the cables at the batteries? Are anyof the cables corroded under the plastic shrink connectors? I found that some of my cables were extremely stiff at the battery end . I cut into the plastic shrink material and they were full of blue acid corrosion. I was at Massey's on Phoenix and was given a lecture on battery connections. They should shine like a gold ring. There are a few hidden j1939 Deutsch connectors. One is in the engine bay back below the air filter. There is one (possibly 2) in a huge bundle of wires on the passenger side frame rail. Mine was wrapped with electrical tape. Very hard to find as it is up high from the earth or pavement. I was able to spray the connector with electrinic cleaner. I have read where some owners found a loose Deutsch pin. Another owner found a corroded fuse in the RR bay. Mine is an 08 and it has a Medalion dash read out. It would show bad ecm communication. I also would get a derate. There may be some wiring in the drivers shift console. I had some blue crimp connectors that were iffy. Do not ask me how much this cost me at a FL dealer even though theyfound nothing. Do you have battery cut off switches in one of your battery bays. They connect to frame mounted juctions that are exposed to the elements. Hope this helps.
  14. Bob> We hve been listening to rod truck radio since xm began. The power hour with the guys from Pittsburgh power is superb.
  15. A factory residential does not have a roof vent. Unless irt came off the line before they decided to install a residential unit.Monaco made a new side vent that is solid and fits in the same brackets. The inside walls on the side ot the fridge had ZERO insulation. Kevin: That outlet on your unit is for the fridge. Jerrygrosman: The OP had a factory residential fridge. AS for the Amish unit or any other propane fridge you won't find much support for that thought.
  16. Flyer and MCI are the same company. I live close to their factories. They have been doing a lot of work on Hydrogen
  17. Here is some more info on Roadmaster. K, here is more information from Lazydaz and other dealers here at Perry, GA, along with some things I've researched on the Net.... The "potential" Navistar International bid for Monaco is indeed a rumor at this point, as nothing has been announced. However there is some substantiation to the rumor. I hope that it happens as Navistar International is a very good company, from my experience. They do an honest job of customer support and have an excellent reputation in the trucking industry. While truck sales have dropped, along with everything else, Navistar does not seem to be in serious trouble and does have several hundred million dollars in cash reserves. Some background information.... In 1985 International Harvester was in serious trouble for numerous reasons not important to this discussion. As a result, however, they did sell off the largest portion of their business, the Agricultural Division, which left them with the truck and engine divisions only. The next year, they changed their name to "Navistar International Corp." They remain a leading truck and engine manufacturer today. Within the last 5 years Navistar has been moving closer to ties with the RV industry - especially Monaco. In June of 2003, Daniel Ustian, the President and CEO of Navistar was appointed to the Monaco Board of Directors. In the summer of 2005, Navistar purchased Workhorse, a leading manufacturer of RV chassis. In January of 2007 Navistar and Monaco signed an agreement to join forces with respect to chassis manufacturing. A new company was formed, called "Custom Chassis Products, LLC" which is the company that now manufactures Roadmaster chassis. Navistar owns 51% with Monaco owing the other 49% Custom Chassis Products (Roadmaster) was NOT part of the Chapter 11 filing that Monaco filed the first week in March. That action effected only Monaco wholly owned divisions. Navistar executives have accompanied executives from Monaco at the Monaco pre-rally in Georgia last week, and the FMCA rally in Perry this week. I was not at the pre-rally so I don't know more details about that, perhaps someone who was can add some details here. So, is Navistar going to buy Monaco? They certainly are in a good position to do that, and "some" large Monaco dealers are hopeful that an announcement to that effect will be made very soon. But as of this posting, it is indeed, officially still a rumor. __________________
  18. Tom. You know more about some of the facts than I,but I distinctly remember reading about Navistar going to the judge re Roadmaster. I was enraged at the time. The whole receivership was a sham. That judge was horrible. I may be old but what I read made sense. I will not post anymore on this subject as I get upset.I appreciate your comments.
  19. Tom. When did they destroy the Roadmaster chassis? And why? Rev never got involved until Navistar gave up. Navistar paid nada for Roadmaster. The judge had agreed onthe pittance that Navistar paid for Monaco. But rhen Navistar realized that Roadmaster was not included. They did not want to buy it as they coukd be liable for warranty claims. The judge just added the assets to the Monaco "purchase" at no additional cost. The above is my old man's recall of that horrible event.
  20. The netal brackets that hold the fan motor on our 08 Dynasty were not well designed. They also had bad welds. When I had our Dynasty at Massey's in Phoenixthey remove the brackets and had the welding shop next door reinforce everything. Maybe the brackets have something to do withthe broken bolts. Monaco sure needed better welders.
  21. Recently there was someone selling a dinette. I think it might have been in the Monaco forum on IRV2. Or it might have been in tha Facebook group for Monaco parts and motorhomes for sale.
  22. I still use the us gear unified tow brake system IMHO this is the best toad brake ever built it is proportional and uses the vacuum booster. New units are not available but I bought one NOS system and a used system. I have enough spare parts to keep the system in working order for many years. It is permanently installed on the toad so only an umbilical cord yo connect.
  23. When our Dynasty was less than a year old I eas having trouble with bathroom lights turning iff at random. I was in Elkhart and found a place just across the border in Michigan. 2 of the fellows had worked at Monaco. H said that Monaco had too many lights on a 16 ga. Wire. Changed to a heavier wire and all was good. If everything is off and you only have one light on do you still have a problem? Anything beyond that I bow to Frank and Mr. Whittle. True experts.
