  1. Just to add more cofusion: If you own a Monaco product with trailing arms that were replaced by the original "Monaco" you still have a problem. Monaco did not improve the original arms. They simply installed the misengineered garbage. The op and anyone else that has the original style arms should not install anything other than Source built arms. There is a video that shows the engineering that went into these Source arms. I do not care if you are a welder or know a super welder. Spend the money and get the best. They are expensive and worth it.
  2. My OTC jack stands are rated at 22 tonnes( not tons) for each stand. Very beefy.
  3. I plan on removing the rear wheels on our 42. ft. Dynasty. I will be 81 this spring and heavy work is no longer possible. I have a young man that helps me with the motorhome. Our MH has no jacks but the tag axle actually has a lift mechanism. I know to jack up both sides. I do have an X12 trorque multiplier. I do not have a large torque wrench. I was planning on buying a HF air wrench that is advertised to handle 1000 ft. lbs. I do haven IR 5Hp 60 gallon compressor. Will I be able to lift the tag axle high enough with the manual controls? also have 2 20 ton jacks and a 20 or 30 ton air over hydrulic jack along with 2 low height OTC jackstands and 2 higher ones. I do not have those 2 inch qq. tube lenchs to insert between the frame rails. Next I will need some advice on removing the drive axle wheels. I have done this on our Bluebird but it did not have a tag axle. Are the lug nuts 33mm?? Thanks
  4. The worst part of Starlink is dealing with the business practices of Musk. He raises or lowers prices at will. Changes the technology without giving you the opportunity of upgrading. There is no customer service toll free #. I am told they do not respond to emails. I have to wonder if things will change when Amazon enters the market. Despite my whining we are considering buying a unit. Amazing technology.
  5. When I was looking for drums for our Bluebird I found a crossover chart to Webb drums. Webb not only mfrs. drums in the USA they also sell off shore drums that meet their standards. If the drum you need fits many other vehicles you may find one by Googling using the info for that vehicle. You also may find a post in a truckers forum with more info. Happy hunting.
  6. I admire your ability to "keep on trucking". Too bad you do not get paid per view.
  7. On our 08 Dynasty I run 115,100 and 95 I was running 110 in the front but the alignment shop said to add some air to the front. Handles well.
  8. On my 08 Dynasty there are wires that come from the dash to the drivers side area with all the switches and shifter. Monaco use crimp buttons connectors on some of those wires. I was told by Monaco that sometimes causes data communication problems. The Deutch connectors have been known to have connection problems. Don't know if any of the above helps .
  9. Self paying could end up costing many thousands. If you follow any trucker's social media a 10 mile tow can cost $2000 or more. Some towing companies are ruthless. We have been with coachmet for over 25 years. Fortunately have only needed them 3 times.
  10. If you are going to Quartzsite this season there is an informal group of Monaco owners. Nice bunch of fellows. One of them is an expert on this subject. I think he has adjusted over 50 doors. No cost!
  11. You are looking at the wrong dealers. OTR trucks rarely use the 295/80.But if you go to real tire dealer they are available. Simple Tire has about 4 models. They ship to a dealer in your area who looks after the instalation. You can also get them with the FMCA tire buying plan.
  12. Kevin. You should not add SCA to an OAT coolant. Not required. Unless you are a chemist I would not fool around with anything other than distilled water and that coolant.
  13. I changed my coolant to Final Charge I spoke with one of the engineers. He stated that the coolant would outlast the engine. They used to sell a booster but now you can just drain a few qts.and replenish Never add SCA.
  14. One thing to look at is how Monaco ran the heater hose at the rear on a side rad. Many of the hoses rest on frame members and angle or Chanel iron. I had 2 of my hoses wear through. Now all of mine are mounted properly.
  15. Bosch is what you will find in most Prevost conversions. High quality.
  16. When the pemp keeps running could the average be returning to the tank. This can happen if the check valve is faulty. On our Monaco they used a cheap poly valve. If your unit also has an Asco valve and it has a spec of sand on the diaphragm that will cause the same problem. However that does not explain why it does not happen with a full tank. Weird.
  17. We have a separate washer and dryer. They work great. Had a different unit with a Splendide. Hated it. Took forever. In the end we only used it for smaller items and suffered with Laundromats. understand that some of the bigger non rv combo units work rather well. I thought they did not fit in most mh's. Does it need 220 for the dryer?
  18. We have had the standard spledide. To put it bluntly they suck. And it is just the 2 of us. With your family you would hate that setup. One of those one piece top and bottom units would be ideal. We have a stacked unit and it works well. Sometimes you can find the one pice top and bottom at used appliance shops.
  19. I am not in need of any new units but I just saw this in another forum. Heck of a deal Walmart Has Dometic Roof AC's Half Price+Free Shipping $1029 plus tax. Free shipping. This specific unit comes with Heat Pump and the multi zone thermostat circuit board already installed. Several RV online retailers have been listing this unit for $2,000, or $1700-1800 plus shipping charges that pop up at checkout. Here's the model number of this specific unit that you can search for on Walmart's site: H551816AXX1C0 15,000 BTU Black Bottom--White Top Heat pump installed Free shipping direct to your address Can be returned to local Walmart store I just ordered my third one. Randy just ordered one. As I understand it this is the successor to the Penguin II but with many improvements (no sheet metal, less vibration and better fan = quieter). Early indications are that it uses 1/3 less electricity than Penguin II's.
  20. Great that it worked for you. I do not think they tow if it is an accident.Good Sam, FMCA and Coachnet Do NOT cover accidents. Even some insurance companies do not cover acidents. I think Progressive has coverage.
  21. There are many other mfrs. that have systems with similar problems. Of course that does not help this discussion. Entegra and others are installing systems that run on a tablet. Probably the whole system is a Chinese import. that system bites the dust you are beyond a brick even the blinds run through that controller. Even cheap travel trailers have a remote that controls Many items. There is a good Tech on both you tube and Tik Tok that showed all the electronic test kits for many different brands of multiplex systems. Good luck finding someone with the diagnostic tools in Tucamcari. Or anywhere in my home country of Canada. I suspect that Lippert has something to do with this junk.
  22. Raymond: Do not be so sure that AAA roadside will cover you in an accident. Or for that matter in many areas you have ZERO coverage Some states do not have any MH coverage with AAA. AS well there is a miles limit and maybe a $$ limit. I see that you have anj 08 Dynasty. Is it a tag model? In many cases after an accident you may not be able to tow via the front wheels or front axle. I would nver let them tow our 08 Tag Dynasty except on a Landoll. They could end up damaging your frame. Will AAA provide a special trailer? Many here are shocked to find out that towing can cost up to $10,000. In some states the highway patrol provides the towing at your expense. They do not all ow any other services. They may also insist that it be moved to the first open area before being loaded to a trailer. As mentioned in this thread not all insurers provide towing after an accident.
