  1. Sorry to hear of your problem. RV'rs should be aware that many of today's DP's will have similar problems. Everything in the coach is controlled by either a touch screen or a tablet. Every mfr. is using a different system. Some mfrs. start out using multiplex A and then switch to multiplex B. You have no guaranty that the rv mfr. will be able to provide support.
  2. I posted a picture of simple ways of keeping doors latched.
  3. Jack James. No pain no gain applies !
  4. The large 1200 nocold was a bad design from day one. The cooling system is not large enough. I would have to disagree with cat Stephen. There is a reason why all high end units come from the factory with residential fridges. Even entry level rv s offer a house fridge as an option Our Dynasty has zero solar but does have 8_6volt batteries. If one uses the electronics in your unit: large TV,sound system microwave, charging cell phones laptop etc. You have to run the genset at least once a day. We boondocks without any worries of losing battery power No Norcold has the capacity of a residential fridge Our Jennair is 21 cu.ft. Your mentioning door latches is anextreme comment There are dozens of good add on latches. The door gasket on a Norcold is not available. You have to buy the doors for over $1000. The hinge pins are also a problem I have never read where someone regretted changing to house fridge.
  5. If you want brand new there are no deals. Maybe $100 off.
  6. I was wrong. The lens is glass and it twisted off. The housing is metal. I changed the bulb and all is good. Thanks for the help.
  7. It is all plastic. Sort of polyethelyne. The housing is one piece. But the lens is glued on. No screws.
  8. There is no bezel or removeable lens.
  9. Our 08 Dynasty has lots of puck lights. Both 3 inch and 5 inch. But they are different than any others I have seen. There is no bezel. They are all plastic and are a squeeze fit. I have one 3 inch that only works sometimes. I do not see any way to get to the inside of the fixture. I have a feeling it is disposable. Tag reads Liteco model 290 10 watt. Throwing out a fixture due to a bad bulb seems wasteful. Any help appreciated.
  10. Sorry, I confused the rv service plan with the rv designed system. The latter uses a different dish and has a roof mount. It also costs $2500. I did not confirm but it may be a 12 volt system. Have you traveled lately with your Starlink and encountered unusable low speeds. The net is full of complaints.
  11. Thanks fir that info. I am at Q and there is no wifi in our park. I can use my cell phone but no streaming. I would gladly buy that rv system but am concerned that it would often be deprioritized. Lately I see too many dissatisfied users. Maybe in a few years when Amazon has this service.
  12. The new RV system comes with a mount and the dish is different. I think it runs on 12 volts. The rules from Musk keep changing. Supposedly if you have a residential system it will only work out of your area for 60 days. It will reset if you connect at your home area. Too many rules. Too bad as at first it seemed this was the answer for rv'rs. I also do not know if one can put the system on hold while not travelling.
  13. Robert. When making your cables do you put the Koper shield into the terminal and then crimp?
  14. If you are wanting wet cell ordinary 6 volts I would go with Costco. I have them in both of our motorhomes. Great price. They only have a one year warranty but Costco asks no questions and the replacement also comes with a one year warranty.
  15. Tim> I only use Welding cable. It is flexible.
  16. We are heading to Quartzsite in our Bluebird at the end of the month. Our Dynasty needs some new battery cables. Good quality parts are hard to get and expensive in Mexico so I want to make a list of what I need. I have a Hydraulic Crimper and some cables from a previous job. It is the 6 volt units that need new cables. From the factory it has 4/0 for the cables that go to the cutoff switches. But the cables between the batteries are smaller. I think they are 1/0. My wiring diagrams show them as all 4/0. We have 8- 6 volt batteries. I think that because the short cables do not carry much current they went to a smaller cable. I would make them all 4/0 but I do not know if they would bend that tight. The short ones are only 6 inches long. Would 1/0 or maybe 2/0 be sufficient? Thanks
  17. Tony there is no need to provide additional air to the fridge. Your fridge in the house does not vent to the outside. Factory installations either do not cut the sidewall for a vent or they cut it and provide a fill for the whole. On our Dynasty factory install there is no roof vent. You tube is often wrong!
  18. Our 08 Dynasty is mounted similar to Frank's. The front has a custom made plate that holds the top from moving. At the rear about half way up from the floor there is a wooden block that prevents the fridge from moving backward. Then some lag bolts to hold down the fridge. It ends up being sandwiched. When our JenAir died we bought another Jen Air. Of course the sizing was different. It was slightly higher. Lowered the floor. Cut down the front of the drawer that was under the fridge. Made that space into a storage cupboard. I reused the metal plate at the top. Added lags at the bottom. Lagged the bottom of the fridge at the rear. In order to keep it sandwiched I made a new wooden block for the back wall. I was not able to add it once the fridge was in but used Gorilla Glue to attach to the rear wall. Some people make a dolly that is the same height as the fridge wheels. Often with wheels. If the fridge needs sevrving you can roll it onto the dolly. Many fridges have the computer board at the rear about a foot of the floor. Cannot be accessed while the fridge is installed. The new fridge is a French door. It is huge. Quiet. I am not a Samsung fan. As an aside we just had the GE fridge in our Mexican home serviced. It was that main board. Very common problem. The tech suggested a special surge protector. NOT one mad for electronic items. They are cheap on Amazon. Called a fridge surge protector When there is a problem it turns off the power for 3 minutes and then restarts.
  19. Truck wheels coming off is not unusual. In Ontario Canada they have hundreds every year. But mostly dump trucks
  20. If Ontario requires a similar inspection as a class 8 truck it is extensive. They pull the drums and " mic",check the front end,air brake tests, all lights ,tires and more.
  21. Your inspection depends on the province where you live.
  22. In the gneneral Class A forum on IRV2 a gentleman with an 09 was having trouble finding a Hydraulic pump for his unit. It is different than what Monaco normally uses. The rights to that pump are in England.Hhe found a pump in stock at this place:Far West Hydraulics in Indeo, CA (Owner is Mark, 760-347-5555). Could be valuable information.
  23. I would like to have those parts on hand. How many SKPa38 should I buy? What about the solenoid coils? I can source O rings easily, I noticed the solenoids in the list are 24 volt?? What material is preferred for the orings?
  24. I am in Mexico and just found that kit on a sort of Mexican e bay. 900 pesos delivered in Mexico. That is just over $45.00. Wow.
