  1. It is great that hwh has remained in business. It seems all of the suppliers are being bought out by Lippert or Dometic Once these old companies are sold service is not important and legacy products become obsolete.
  2. That is the fan system ! I remember posters being very pleased with the result. I mentioned this because the op was adamant in not wanting a house fridge
  3. Back when everyone was having Norcold problems many users did a fan install. 3 computer fans were installed under the roof top vent. This provided the proper air circulation. If you go to the irv2 Monaco site there are pictures
  4. Unless you change the cooling system the risk if fire is always present. No matter what you do the cost is what you called expensive. JC refrigeration could replace the cooling system with a 12 volt unit. Or you could install the Amish cooling unit. It still runs on propane. If you install anything that uses propane a fire extinguishing system should be installed. More expense.

  6. I went to the Bridgestone web site. There is only one tire exclusively for a coach. It only comes in a 315/80 . Very aggressive tread. I would never put them on any mh. Maybe on a Prevost. There are a few tires listed that are primarily for trucks but also can be used on a coach. So to repeat what I wrote there really are no specific motor home tires other than the g 670 Anyone using those is engaging in Russian roulette. Even Michelin does not make rv specific motor home tires. They dud have one tire that was popular on smaller motorhomes about 10 years ago. They cracked like crazy I have not checked lately but most mfrs. use Michelin. I have seen a few with Contimentals. They stopped using Toyo after a problem on National/ Country Coach. I think Toyo said it was front axle overweight problem.
  7. Wayne. What size did you use? What model Bridgestone did you buy. Thanks
  8. Why do people think they should buy motor coach tires Onl gy makes those and they are the worst tire known to mankind. I think Continental has motor coach tires but not much size choice. Most mfrs. have steer or multi position tires that can be used on a MH. Often this is noted in the literature. If not just call the mfr. tech support and they will recommend a suitable tire. Bu these are not specifically mh tires. They are truck tires that will work.
  9. Thanks, but I am fully aware of the Rev group. They no longer provide any support for Legacy Monacos. I am not even sure if they will send you a build sheet. It is not a parts list and only includes the models of major parts. Sometimes it is handy. The parts list in this forum is the best resource for Monaco owners.
  10. Geraldoh. Can you please provide further info . I have never seen a website called monacorev??
  11. Nice report. Velocity has many locations. Which one did you use?
  12. Hi Bob. Have not been able to use our unit due to the pandemic and closed borders. I will watch gor Churchill news and post anything relevant .
  13. We live in Manitoba. I would be cautious booking a tour tight now. Climate change is having extreme effects on that area. Might not be any bears to see. I don't follow the North very much but there has been trouble with the railroad. I do know that they could sure use the tourist business with all the closed borders.
  14. Thanks. Mine is the original sensor. The new ones are quite different. The same shape as a breakaway switch. Replacing it would be a big hassle. The inverter is in the second from the front bay. Attached to the ceiling. I would have to drop the ceiling in the next bay The wire probably exits before the wheel well. It is my understanding that you can just disconnect the sensor. The inverter then defaults to one temp. setting
  15. Bingo! It appears there are 2 sensors. The Magnum attaches to a battery terminal. I still do noy know if it is the positive or negative The sensor attached to the battery case is for the Monaco installed solar panels. I will have to call Magnum for info on how to repair the attaching of the lug to those wires. I think the white compound is some sort of heat proof compound. Thak you for the help.
  16. Vito. I am not doubting you but I already have a temp. sensor. Why would there be that many wires?
  17. Thanks but my temp sensor is sandwiched between 2 of the batteries I have the wiring diagrams but nothing in there for the house batteries. I do not understand why all the wires were soldered together. Why not just run one wire. Could it be for the alladin or the dash medallion? Strange.
  18. Being stuck in Canada I had our 08 Dynasty in enclosed storage. I removed all the batteries and they have been stored connected to a battery maintainer I was cleaning up the battery trays and noticed a broken wire in one of the house battery trays. It is a flat grey telephone style cable with 4 very thin wires. Red,black, yellow and I think green. The wiring was disconnected from the terminal. 3 of the 4 wires were poorly soldered together. The red was not. Strange terminal. Thick copper ring and a bell shaped end where the wires enter. The bell is quite large and was filled with some sort of white sealant. Nothing was crimped. End of terminal had a boot that tapered to the telephone style cable. I am now wondering whether it was hooked to hot or ground. What is that cable? I am wondering if it is something to do with the inverter. Any suggestions? Thanks
  19. Sperdy autoglass is a great company. They have branches that do semi's and motorhomes. They will order the glass from the USA. They have done 2 mh windshields for me. Very professional.
  20. Danze are low end and I think Chinese. The old Monaco used high end brand name faucets in Dynasty models. How things change.
  21. We have not yet experienced the havoc this inflation will cause. Freight rates are out of sight. Some are 50% higher than pre endemic. Consumers are the ones who will cover those increased costs. Large trucking companies are worried about not being able to buy tires. Forget favorite brands. Prices for HD truck parts are also high. Companies hesitate to stock up as many parts are year and truck brand specific. Do any of you remember when Nixon imposed price and wage controls. We are Canadians and always did a lot of rving in MN and ND. We quickly learned which food items were greatly cheaper than in Canada. We had no price controls. I am also worried about interest rates. As a retired person higher rates would be good. But high mortgage rates will kill the economy. These are not normal times and no one can predict what is going to happen. Will prices keep going up? Will availability become worse? What will prices return to normal? Food for thought.
  22. I understand that China is hoarding rubber. On a lighter note: I drive long haul in the summer and sometimes end up on small county roads. I was in the woods of Wisconsin yesterday and was close to fond du lac today. Saw at least 5 hand written " wood for sale" signs. One was selling 2x4 cut off bundles for about $5.00. Nothing waslonger than 12 inches. Another was selling small pallets for $4.00 and larger for $6.00. They were lightweight throw aways. Crazy.
  23. I had a similar problem in our Dynasty. Was caused by the flexible kitchen sink hose leaking right into a junction box. But water getting into a different junction box would cause the breaker to pop.
  24. Just do a simple Google on the subject. Rvtailgate life has lots of info. The nfpa has them listed as prohibited. When your mh was built all the electrical components had to have an approval. It could be ul,ulc, csa and few others are approved. PD surge protectors are approved. Hughes are not.
