  1. The Autoformer is different from a surge protector. Ho to their website and read away.
  2. I see posts once in awhile about the Hughes system. RVers should be aware that these units are not UL approved and have been known to cause fires. I understand that some cg's do not allow them to be used. I think they sold the rights to that device to another company. Hughes does not have any UL surge protectors. Buyer beware.
  3. Glang: I read your post and I hope you do not mind a response to your frustrations with Marathon. WE rv'rs have always looked for Mfrs. to help us with tech support, free goodies and warranties when they have expired. At one time the assistance was quite common. But things have changed. Most of the big companies have been sold and the new owners are only interested in that bottom line. Monaco had great tech support. You could call them and one of the phone tech would often solve your problem without even looking at a computer screen. Ask for wiring diagrams and they would send you a CD with all the diagrams for your coach. Before Fleetwood went under they too had great tech support. Both Monaco and Fleetwood are owned by Rev. I doubt that a new Rev owner can get that type of support. I doubt any of the mfrs. offer detailed support. Most of the suppliers also had good tech support. But companies like Lippert bought up many of those suppliers. If support is offered it is scant. That being said do any of us own a complex item that costs big bucks where the mfr. offers tech support? If you bought a new house would the contractor offer any tech support. The motorhomes of yesteryears were simple. They had a small 30 amp 110 volt system and a few 12 volt fuses. Most did not have inverters . Only convertors. Very little electronics. They were fairly ease to fix. Your Marathon has 110 and 220 circuits. Probably 2 big inverters. A complicated battery charging system. 110 volt water pumps. Newer units have tablet screens that control most of the coach. Lots of wiring. I think you were in the maritimes when you had problems. Do you really expect Marathon to have a service center in a part of Canada with a sparce population. But there are companies that service OTR busses. THere are also truck repair shops that can handle electrical problems. Marathon is probably the best bus convertor. Same with Liberty. If you had a good road service they would tow your bus to a facility. Did you call one of the large dealers for converted busses to see if they could help? The only bad comments I have ever read about Marathon is that they are expensive.
  4. Your dryer plug is 220. You may have fried something.
  5. Repairs to air brakes should be done by professionals.
  6. If you want stop the compressor temporarily there is a gold colored circuit breaker in the front run bay. It is flat. That is the cb for the pump.
  7. Paul A. Will that tech support work? I thought Rev stopped giving support for legacy vehicles
  8. There are also connections in the DS armrest.
  9. Lippertis known for selling junk to the rv manufacturers. The slide out gear systems are a disaster. The 6th wheel frames have bad welds and the tubing is too small. Steps are also bad. After 08 when the industry was in shambles Lippert bought out many of the part mfrs. Unless you are buying a new Prevost or other high end coach your unit will be equipped with Lippert products. Lippert even has warehouses and small sub manufacturing facilities on the same lots of many mfrs. of those cheap pull trailers. Lippert is a one stop supplier. Horrible junk.
  10. For about a week I am no longer getting the daily digest. I tried to follow some instructions from April but am stumped. Help please.
  11. In many Monacos you cannot use a gravity toilet as the tank is not directly under the toilet.
  12. Old World Industries makes Final Charge and Peak coolants. They also make various private label coolants including some for Walmart. I could not find the extender so called and spoke with one of their engineers. He was the person that told me to drain some and add. He also told me to ignore the time limit as in most RV applications we do not drive the miles of an otr vehicle. They discontinued the additive.
  13. OAT coolants no longer require an extender. Just drain off a few quarts and add new. Shop around as the concentrate can be found for around $20.
  14. What am I missing in this thread. The op is wanting chassis batteries. They are neither 6 volt or rv batteries. They are simply common group 31 batteries available at any hd truck dealer,Costco, Napa and hundreds of other locations. In Canada they are priced between $130 and $150 each
  15. In Algadones Mexico you can get a quality job at a decent price. Very professional.
  16. The cheap jackstands are rated in pairs. Quality units are rated for each stand. OTC has a secondary line of jackstands that are excellent.
  17. Our 08 Dynasty came from the factory with a Jenair side by side fridge. This was a high end fridge with a solid Cherry wood front. It worked great! Then 2 years ago I started to have problems. 2 different techs worked on it. It was not leaking but some oil must have plugged one of the lines. After repairs it worked great but only for a month or 2. We replaced the evaporator and still it will only cool for a few months. I don't want to waste any more money. I know that today's appliances are mostly junk. More than one tech has told me that 7 years is the average life of a new fridge. Spending more $$ jusat means it has more bells and whistles. Same cooling system as a cheaper unit. Most of the appliance companies have been sold to the bigger mfrs./ GE is owned by a Chinese company. Whirlpool owns kitchen aid, Jennair and a few others. None have excellent reputations. Our fridge is a side by side 36 inch counter depth. Just under 70 inches high. Side by sides a are not as popular as the French door units. I will not buy a Samsung or LG. Bosch fridges are not like their dishwashers. I could take a chance on a Whirlpool. But I found a discontinued Jenn air. It is 2 inches higher than mine but there is a drawer under the fridge that could be cut down. My dilemma is finding some on locally to remove the old fridge, modify the drawer and install a new one. I do not want to remove the windshield. At first I thought I could remove the driver side window and seat. Then I noticed that above the sofa is the emergency exit window. I hope someone can help me with the following questions. Looks like I would have to remove the window valence and the blind. If I undo the blind string from the wooden tension adjusters will it become unstrumg? I have not opened the emergency exit window but it looks like it could be removed by sliding the window out of the way. BUT the window awning arms are in the way. Can I just undo one of the arms or would I have to remove the whole awning. Will it lose tension? Any hints and tips appreciated. I live in a Province that is an RV wasteland. Lots of dealers for those cheap pull trailers and 5th wheels. They won't work on a DP. I cannot take it to ND or MN. as the borders are closed Has anyone had success with a Whirlpool lately? Thanks
  18. When I had the bathroom leak no caulking seemed to work. I finally sealed the the movable window to the frame. The window no longer opens and there are no leaks.
  19. If you buy your cord from Gkendening the male plug will be attached. That pl ug is high quality The cable is extremely flexible. Not Chinese or glossy plastic.
  20. This is the 3rd time I have heard of corrosion in those connectors. Another owner found one of the wires not attached . One owner found a corroded fuse in the rear run bay. There are far too many connrctors and they live in a horrible environment.
  21. I am so glad you flund the problem and saved a ton of money
  22. Personally I am not a big fan of the Racor system. Go to any freightliner dealer and look at the fuel filters. They are usually Davco. Fass is another popular system. Air in the fiel system is a real problem. I think Racor also has a more modern system.
  23. The post is full of errors. Every province has different rules. Some car deales are oprn but reduced hours and sales staff. Auto dales in Canada are diwn 75%. As for problems with full timers: There are not many fill ticmers in Canada. Many of them have a semi permanent spot in an RV park .
  24. There is no question that this forum is a thousand times bettrr than the Yahoo forum.. It was a bad format that became even worse. You can be away from this forum for a week and easily catch up on the threads. I love this forum.
  25. I amin Canada. There is a Cumminsdealer in Coburg that works on a lot of motorhomes. The guys at Source Engineering gave me the name of a tech at that Cummins facility that is an expert at fixing J1939 problems. Could be an option for you.
