If you want them, Mike, I'll hold onto them for you. We are in Mesa so you'll be near us going to Tucson. I'd be happy to meet you halfway somewhere. We are near Loop 202 and US60 junction. Let me know...I'll plug in your zip code and let you know what it'd cost to ship.......Dennis -

Sams Club had the same or close to the same seating unit at their stores. Might want to check them out.....Dennis -
Well we got our "message" from Direct TV today. Seems they are modifying the DNS service. Apparently they were only successful in negotiating terms with some of the networks. Below is the email we received today.

Tony, I may be confused but from your post, it appears your step cover simply won't close. Have you checked the solenoid which is on the fire wall in the generator compartment on the passenger side? May be something as simple as replacing that. If you do DO NOT CHANGE IT FROM UNDERNEATH. Go in from the TOP thru the genset....Dennis

Unfortunately, we never get the ENTIRE picture....only snippets from a news outlet giving us their interpretation of what went down. I'm holding out for complete details. The fact the court ruled in favor of the plaintiff indicates, to me anyway, the defendants went overboard on their social bashing, which is very easy to do, especially in today's climate....we are not as tough as we used to be.....Dennis

Tail Lights 2005 Executive
Dennis H replied to Dennis H's topic in For Sale: Parts, Components, & Accessories
Thanks Paul. I believe they were used 05-07 . Not sure when TYC stopped making them but I do know I couldn't find any anywhere. Someone who doesn't want to cut up the rear of their coach can have these if they want them. I hate to send them to the land fill...Dennis -
Paul, I agree whole heartedly but there must be limitations. Social media is an awesome way of telling the world about service received, both good and bad. Unfortunately it's a fine line one steps over from simply reporting the facts and embellishing what happened by inserting one's own personality, entitlement and opinions into the conversation. Furthermore, others jump on the bandwagon and insert their own opinions into the conversations and on it goes until the truth is buried and a whole new story gets told. I use rvservicereviews.com for recommendations but also view them with a grain of salt. If I use campgroundreviews I do the same. Once that fine line is breached and/or the post is vindictive from the get go, then it serves as nothing more that damaging to the provider. I'm sure that's what happened in this instance and the purchaser paid the price. ....Dennis

FREE, just pay for shipping from Arizona. Both tail lights are in good condition. The right (passenger) side trunk lid is good. The left side has cracks....Dennis

Well, I got my replacement tail lights and installed them today. Bigger chore than I imagined. New tail lights said "easy install, plug and play" . I think it was written by a salesman. Anyway, the new ones are in. I had to cut off the top tabs, remove the mounting pins, tap the holes for a 1/4" stud. I made my own studs out of a piece of stainless rod I had in the workshop. There were a couple other cuts I had to make to the tail lights before I could attempt the install. Guess what 'almost fit'.! Out came the Dremel and the Multi=Tool. I hacked off the necessary fiberglass on the rear cap to make them fit properly. Install was pretty easy from there on out. Project is complete. The original tail lights on the 05 Executive are from a 1999-2002 Lincoln Navigator. However, they are aftermarket tail lights made by TYC which no longer makes them. Since they are TYC specific, other brands will fit, but only after modifications. That said, I have 3/4 of a set of TYC tail lights that are in good condition. The 'trunk lid' left side is cracked but the tail lights and the right side trunk lid unit are fine. I hate to throw them away as I looked far and wide for just the trunk piece before biting the bullet and replacing the entire set. Anyone who has an 05 in need of or want of, these tail lights can have them FREE, just pay for shipping.

I wonder what happened to the boat. Think part of the settlement included the boat? Did the Gibsons get it anyway? I can't imagine they'd enjoy it considering the stigma now attached to it, but you never know with some people.....Dennis

2009 Knight kitchen slide problem
Dennis H replied to tarp199's topic in Chassis, Handling, Tires & Brakes
It needs to be re-adjusted. Your mechanical ability will determine if this is something you can do yourself or not. IMO, it's something left to the professionals. Regardless, it will take a couple strong arms and some equipment to get in back into place and adjusted correctly......Dennis -
Darn it ! I always miss the good stuff. Sorry to see you go Tim.....Dennis

There's several mods I've wanted to do for some time but never seem to have the time nor energy to do them. I finally decided to upgrade the front TV in my coach. I've been wanting to get rid of all the superfluous wiring and stuff Monaco crammed into the cabinets while upgrading the TV at the same time. Out went the 32" Sharp along with the 'box' and garbage in that cabinet. In it's place I put a 40" Smart TV with only a couple HDMI hookups. The Sharp was 50+ pounds and the tuner box was another 10# or so. The new TV weighs just shy of 9 pounds so I shedded a few pounds. Below are some pictures of the mod. I recommend this to anyone who is remotely hand and loves to work with wood although there wasn't a whole lot of cutting involved. The Sharp was 19" tall, 38 5/8" wide and the Vizio is 21.5, so I had to cut away 1 1/2" off the top rail. For speakers I added a sound bar next to the new TV and repurposed the cut section of the top rail to narrow the opening to 37.5". Picture 1 is the old TV, Picture 2 is the finished product. Pictures 3 and 4 are the old TV wires and 'stuff'. Pictures 5, 6 and 7 show the install in process. Any questions, give me a shout. I get my new tail lights tomorrow. Stay tuned.......Dennis

Ok, I found the files. IMO, everyone who has a 50amp coach should have one of these. It shows open neutrals, correct wiring, voltage and more. I've included the link to the tester and a pdf file with all the instructions etc. along with the SKUs from Home Depot. It's easy to build yourself and it could save you tons of money down the road....Dennis 50 Amp Tester Link 50 Amp Tester.pdf

I always check the pedestal before plugging in. I also use the Hughes Autoformer. I made, probably the same tester as John that I use. If anyone is interested, I'll see if I can find the parts list and instructions. I have them in a pdf file somewhere. I purchased everything at a local Home Depot and it wasn't very expensive. It's saved me a couple times already. I also found a 50amp plug at a campground wired as a 30amp. Yeah, I made them change it out. If someone's interested, let me know and I'll go search my log files......Dennis

Steve, most likely with the pedestal. Or it could simply be an electrical gremlin. (think corrosion/loose connection/dirt inside the pedestal) If it were a true open ground, it wouldn't just go away. However, be sure to inspect your plug for any corrosion and clean the prongs. I wouldn't worry about it unless it does it again...Dennis

More often than not, a band aid method is futile, especially where a water leak is concerned. I would remove any and all sealant, clean the area completely and reseal with new. Use sealant designed for aquariums as they are waterproof....Dennis

Bruce, did the Bloomberg not work out for you???....Dennis

Thanks for sending it to me, Eddie. I appreciate it.....Dennis

Jody, they are hydraulic jacks operated via hydraulic fluid. No grease fittings as grease would simply gum up the mechanisms. Any lube on the shafts will act as a dirt magnet. That said, if you want to lube them do so with some transmission fluid on a rag and wipe them down just before retracting them. You could also use a silicone spray but IMO do not spray/wipe them until you're ready to pull them up. Again, any oil based fluid will act as a dirt magnet and dirt is not a friend of the jacks....Dennis

Jaime, is this the port hole gasket? Here's one on eBAY. Port hole gasket OR: There's two used ones for sale that they might part out. $200 ZERO bids $250 ZERO bids Also, look in your manual or search your unit on line and get a part number. It's easier to search for it that way. Is THIS your model?....Dennis
