  1. Most parks have a referral system, ask at the office. Alternatively ask around the campground as someone local will know someone. Check license tags for locals or again, ask at the office. Another source is RV Service Reviews, link below. You can click on STATE and it will populate via States then Cities. If you click on Sort By Location, it'll provide you with Cities alphabetalized.....Dennis Service Reviews
  2. Jim, here is a link to the 2009 owner's manual in case you don't have one.....Dennis 2009 Owner's manual Let me know if you don't find the info you're looking for. I have all the books that came with my coach and I'll try to get to them today or tomorrow....D
  3. David, I would tend to agree with you. Considering I've got over 100,000 miles on the coach, I was surprised how clean it actually was. Most of that is surface dirt. I looked closely at both sides and there was no buildup of junk on the fins.....Dennis
  4. David, I started at the back and worked outward. That was a real pain. Lots of contortionist positions and some choice words. That said, posting the pretty pictures was easier than the grunt work ones....Dennis
  5. After reading all the discussions on rear radiator cleaning, I was inspired to check mine out. While I hose the radiator off as much as I can every time I wash the coach, I've never given them a close inspection and thorough cleaning. With 100,000 miles on the coach, I thought I'd pull the sides off and see what they look like. I've not had any overheating issues but this week the weather is cooler, (it's been 110-113) so I thought it would be a good time to tackle this project. You never know what you'll find and everyone knows how those 15 minute jobs turn out, right? Anyway, I got my garden sprayer, my gallon of Simple Green HDPro, my power washer, screw gun, bits, hoses, goggles and rubber boots out and set out to tackle this project. I'm not sure if I looked more like SpongeBob or one of the Minions, but I was ready for whatever this radiator looked like. So, I removed both the upper and lower grates. Lower one came off with four bolts and four screws. Upper one was held in place with four screws and sealed with silicone. After cutting thru the silicone, it came right off. Boy, was I surprised after removing both grates. The radiator looked pretty good considering the miles. There was an ample amount of debris which had collected around the bottom but everything else looked pretty good. See Picture One, below. The lighter colored area on the right is where I hit it with some aerosol AC condenser spray. Then I remembered I'd better take a picture. As you can see, it didn't look too bad. I then mixed up the SG HD Pro, @ 4:1 and liberally sprayed the entire area. After 5 minutes, I rinsed it completely. After five treatments, you see what it looks like in Picture Two. I'm happy with the result. I did crawl around and hit the inside of the radiator with the pressure washer. Keep in mind, to use the pw at it's lowest setting and keep the wand at least 18" or so away from the fins. The simple green did a fantastic job and I would recommend it to anyone thinking about cleaning their radiators. Off tomorrow to get some fresh silicone so I can put everything back together. I'm happy knowing my radiator is clean again...Dennis Two things I forgot to mention, that might be pertinent to anyone with a side radiator; First, this project took about 5 hours to complete. That includes set up, cleaning and close up, not including the upper grate which still has to be installed. The second thing is there are some wires that run thru these compartments as well as a coil of tubing. Inspection of both of these items revealed an area of abrasion on the tubing where it appeared to be rubbing on the metal grate. This will eventually lead to a failure. I used a piece of split loom to protect this tubing from any further damage. If you have a side radiator, this might be something you want to look at sooner rather than later. I don't know if my coach was just 'special' or if it's a Monaco deal. Anyway it might help to check......Dennis
  6. Duct tape and a black felt marker and it'll be good as new. A lot of my redneck buddies do that all the time. You outta see how they fixed the washing machine.!!! Seriously though, I'd try using some super glue, (sparingly) to see if it can be fixed that way. There's no real stress on it so it should hold up ok....Dennis
  7. Well I'm confused, so please help me. Let's start with the rear run box. Is the switch on the rear or front? Make sure it's toggled to the FRONT. Then try to start with the key. If it doesn't work, then leave the key ON toggle the switch to rear and try to start it. If this is what you've done, please forgive me for not understanding. If this works, then you have a bad ignition switch. Check the connections on the back of the switch first. If they're ok then it's easiest to replace the switch rather than trying to take it apart and mess with it.....Dennis
  8. One MUST use extreme CAUTION if using a power washer. It's NOT RECOMMENDED for a reason. Those tiny fragile fins? They're there for a reason. Better to use a garden sprayer with cleaner, such as Simple Green Pro HD. Even then THAT must be diluted 3-1 before use. Gently spray it on, then hose it off. If the run off is dirty, repeat until the run off runs clear. Damage those fins and you'll be forking out big bucks to correct it.....Dennis
  9. Click Here to see where we've been. I've included a separate set of files for Big Rig access. Comments are encouraged. Helpful ones anyway......Dennis
  10. Steve, are you sure it will be "sticking way out"??? When I was researching, I felt the same way about the Samsung. After the Norcold dumped the second time, I'd had enough and the Samsung was readily available. So, I figured I'd learn to live with it or fashion new handles out of some scrap stainless and hope for the best. Well, after installing it I attached the handles with some trepidation. All for naught. The handles don't protrude as far as I thought and measured for. Just providing my experience. Measure carefully.....Dennis
  11. Waste Management was happy to take my Norcold. :) ....Dennis
  12. Steven, I'd be happy too. Second time is always easier. If you can promise a week or so of low humidity and 78 degree weather, count me in.... πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ... Dennis
  13. Steve, a couple things. First; you get less 'pop' from 2 12VDC vs 4 GC batteries so I would change them back out if this was my coach. 12v are cheaper but don't provide the best bang for your buck. More detail is available if necessary. We went with the Samsung due to it's exact fitment and good reviews. I installed it myself 6 years ago and it's been flawless and we are full timers. I have the same setup as you and have had no issues. If you're not aware the receptacle behind your existing fridge has two outlets but only one is hooked to your inverter. The other is not. So if you wanted to change to the inverter linked above, simply plug that one into the other outlet but that would mean your fridge is off if the generator is off or you're not plugged in. As for the technical side, I would imagine you'd have to contact GE for more info as to whether the modified sine would work with their fridge. If you're interested I've linked some pictures of my installation below. It took me a couple of days to complete it but I did it in a campground with limited tools available. Good luck....Dennis Samsung Refrigerator Install
  14. When I had a similar situation, I opened the generator compartment and up under the windshield, I found the center nut had become loose. Not falling off, just loose a bit. When the wipers were on high, the extra torque necessary, allowed the arms to "slip" a bit thus causing them to stop then start. Might check that nut on yours. If it's tight, turn the wipers on high while you're under there and see what those arms are doing. Yours may be different from mine. Good luck..Dennis
  15. You know the brake/tail lamps are double element bulbs, yes? One element is the tail light and the other is the brake light. Ergo, just because it lights with the headlights doesn't mean the brake lamp element hasn't failed. Easiest fix is to pull the bulb and check both elements. An alternative is to have someone hit the brakes and see if that bulb lights up. Make sure the key is on or the engine is running, depending on your set up.....Let us know what you find. I suspect a bad bulb.....Dennis
  16. The redneck in me says to simply use vice grips and a clothespin to protect the fuel line.... πŸ™‚ ...Dennis
  17. Everything Tom said depends on the CURT being new and not used. CURT custom makes their units if you so desire, so if you purchased a used unit anything is possible. I had a hookup that used the ball connection as the ground for the car so there was no extra wire coming from the car to the coach. That may confuse you even more. Make sure you use diodes in the HHR if it's a new install. Keep us posted....Dennis
  18. That was a different matter altogether. The party in that complaint posted false information and after notice, continued to embellish what happened and was sued for defamation etc. Posting exactly what happened in a specific case cannot be litigated. Further, when a complaint is filed with the State entity, such as the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, BAR, that complaint, investigation and result is kept on file for the offending entity. Additional similar complaints can result in significant penalties for the offending entity......Dennis
  19. Thanks Scotty. Frank pretty much said the same thing. Kudos to you both. Thanks for answering....Dennis

  22. Dave, I'm relatively new to this forum so I'm not sure if we are allowed to name facilities or not, so until I get clarification from a moderator, I'll hold off identifying them. However, I did post an appropriate review HERE. That may help.....Dennis
  23. Any embossed numbers of either of the parts??? or is that two pictures of the same part?? Question still applies....Dennis
