  1. Bingo! It appears there are 2 sensors. The Magnum attaches to a battery terminal. I still do noy know if it is the positive or negative The sensor attached to the battery case is for the Monaco installed solar panels. I will have to call Magnum for info on how to repair the attaching of the lug to those wires. I think the white compound is some sort of heat proof compound. Thak you for the help.
  2. Vito. I am not doubting you but I already have a temp. sensor. Why would there be that many wires?
  3. Thanks but my temp sensor is sandwiched between 2 of the batteries I have the wiring diagrams but nothing in there for the house batteries. I do not understand why all the wires were soldered together. Why not just run one wire. Could it be for the alladin or the dash medallion? Strange.
  4. Being stuck in Canada I had our 08 Dynasty in enclosed storage. I removed all the batteries and they have been stored connected to a battery maintainer I was cleaning up the battery trays and noticed a broken wire in one of the house battery trays. It is a flat grey telephone style cable with 4 very thin wires. Red,black, yellow and I think green. The wiring was disconnected from the terminal. 3 of the 4 wires were poorly soldered together. The red was not. Strange terminal. Thick copper ring and a bell shaped end where the wires enter. The bell is quite large and was filled with some sort of white sealant. Nothing was crimped. End of terminal had a boot that tapered to the telephone style cable. I am now wondering whether it was hooked to hot or ground. What is that cable? I am wondering if it is something to do with the inverter. Any suggestions? Thanks
  5. Sperdy autoglass is a great company. They have branches that do semi's and motorhomes. They will order the glass from the USA. They have done 2 mh windshields for me. Very professional.
  6. Danze are low end and I think Chinese. The old Monaco used high end brand name faucets in Dynasty models. How things change.
  7. We have not yet experienced the havoc this inflation will cause. Freight rates are out of sight. Some are 50% higher than pre endemic. Consumers are the ones who will cover those increased costs. Large trucking companies are worried about not being able to buy tires. Forget favorite brands. Prices for HD truck parts are also high. Companies hesitate to stock up as many parts are year and truck brand specific. Do any of you remember when Nixon imposed price and wage controls. We are Canadians and always did a lot of rving in MN and ND. We quickly learned which food items were greatly cheaper than in Canada. We had no price controls. I am also worried about interest rates. As a retired person higher rates would be good. But high mortgage rates will kill the economy. These are not normal times and no one can predict what is going to happen. Will prices keep going up? Will availability become worse? What will prices return to normal? Food for thought.
  8. I understand that China is hoarding rubber. On a lighter note: I drive long haul in the summer and sometimes end up on small county roads. I was in the woods of Wisconsin yesterday and was close to fond du lac today. Saw at least 5 hand written " wood for sale" signs. One was selling 2x4 cut off bundles for about $5.00. Nothing waslonger than 12 inches. Another was selling small pallets for $4.00 and larger for $6.00. They were lightweight throw aways. Crazy.
  9. I had a similar problem in our Dynasty. Was caused by the flexible kitchen sink hose leaking right into a junction box. But water getting into a different junction box would cause the breaker to pop.
  10. Just do a simple Google on the subject. Rvtailgate life has lots of info. The nfpa has them listed as prohibited. When your mh was built all the electrical components had to have an approval. It could be ul,ulc, csa and few others are approved. PD surge protectors are approved. Hughes are not.
  11. The Autoformer is different from a surge protector. Ho to their website and read away.
  12. I see posts once in awhile about the Hughes system. RVers should be aware that these units are not UL approved and have been known to cause fires. I understand that some cg's do not allow them to be used. I think they sold the rights to that device to another company. Hughes does not have any UL surge protectors. Buyer beware.
  13. Glang: I read your post and I hope you do not mind a response to your frustrations with Marathon. WE rv'rs have always looked for Mfrs. to help us with tech support, free goodies and warranties when they have expired. At one time the assistance was quite common. But things have changed. Most of the big companies have been sold and the new owners are only interested in that bottom line. Monaco had great tech support. You could call them and one of the phone tech would often solve your problem without even looking at a computer screen. Ask for wiring diagrams and they would send you a CD with all the diagrams for your coach. Before Fleetwood went under they too had great tech support. Both Monaco and Fleetwood are owned by Rev. I doubt that a new Rev owner can get that type of support. I doubt any of the mfrs. offer detailed support. Most of the suppliers also had good tech support. But companies like Lippert bought up many of those suppliers. If support is offered it is scant. That being said do any of us own a complex item that costs big bucks where the mfr. offers tech support? If you bought a new house would the contractor offer any tech support. The motorhomes of yesteryears were simple. They had a small 30 amp 110 volt system and a few 12 volt fuses. Most did not have inverters . Only convertors. Very little electronics. They were fairly ease to fix. Your Marathon has 110 and 220 circuits. Probably 2 big inverters. A complicated battery charging system. 110 volt water pumps. Newer units have tablet screens that control most of the coach. Lots of wiring. I think you were in the maritimes when you had problems. Do you really expect Marathon to have a service center in a part of Canada with a sparce population. But there are companies that service OTR busses. THere are also truck repair shops that can handle electrical problems. Marathon is probably the best bus convertor. Same with Liberty. If you had a good road service they would tow your bus to a facility. Did you call one of the large dealers for converted busses to see if they could help? The only bad comments I have ever read about Marathon is that they are expensive.
  14. Your dryer plug is 220. You may have fried something.
  15. Repairs to air brakes should be done by professionals.
  16. If you want stop the compressor temporarily there is a gold colored circuit breaker in the front run bay. It is flat. That is the cb for the pump.
  17. Paul A. Will that tech support work? I thought Rev stopped giving support for legacy vehicles
  18. There are also connections in the DS armrest.
  19. Lippertis known for selling junk to the rv manufacturers. The slide out gear systems are a disaster. The 6th wheel frames have bad welds and the tubing is too small. Steps are also bad. After 08 when the industry was in shambles Lippert bought out many of the part mfrs. Unless you are buying a new Prevost or other high end coach your unit will be equipped with Lippert products. Lippert even has warehouses and small sub manufacturing facilities on the same lots of many mfrs. of those cheap pull trailers. Lippert is a one stop supplier. Horrible junk.
  20. For about a week I am no longer getting the daily digest. I tried to follow some instructions from April but am stumped. Help please.
  21. In many Monacos you cannot use a gravity toilet as the tank is not directly under the toilet.
  22. Old World Industries makes Final Charge and Peak coolants. They also make various private label coolants including some for Walmart. I could not find the extender so called and spoke with one of their engineers. He was the person that told me to drain some and add. He also told me to ignore the time limit as in most RV applications we do not drive the miles of an otr vehicle. They discontinued the additive.
  23. OAT coolants no longer require an extender. Just drain off a few quarts and add new. Shop around as the concentrate can be found for around $20.
  24. What am I missing in this thread. The op is wanting chassis batteries. They are neither 6 volt or rv batteries. They are simply common group 31 batteries available at any hd truck dealer,Costco, Napa and hundreds of other locations. In Canada they are priced between $130 and $150 each
