  1. Do you have the Monaco installed Heliotrope solar charge controller or an aftermarket unit? I looked through the Heliotrope owner's manual and it does not say anything about disconnecting in covered storage. I think I would leave it connected and see how it goes.
  2. Both charge. Check your Intellitec Big Boy solenoid in the rear run bay. They are notorious for carbon buildup on the interior contacts.
  3. Post #9 has a source for the CADET software for the Kongsberg system. CADET Software For Monaco Multiplex Chassis - iRV2 Forums
  4. Wow! You're getting in deep already. Our Executive had the Power Gear/Valid leveling system but it worked well so I didn't have to worry. Are they available from Power Gear but just expensive, or has Lippert dropped these parts? What does Newell say or are they the last resort?
  5. What model refrigerator do you have and did it come from the factory or was it added later? Have you turned off the ice maker? (The reason is most icemakers use electric heat to release the ice cubes.) What model year is your Knight? What is the date code on your "new" house batteries? Are you certain your house batteries were fully charged? How old are your chassis batteries? Most Monaco diesel coaches use an Intellitec "Big Boy" isolation relay to join the house and chassis batteries. When the battery voltage reaches the specified level it closes and both battery banks are charged. The Knight may have only a subset of this system. Your owners manual will explain it in detail. By comparison we have a Samsung RF18 refrigerator and four Trojan T-105 6-volt batteries. With the ice maker off it will easily last overnight and that includes lights and some TV time before bed. Also, make sure you're not trying to operate the microwave or a coffee maker on battery power.
  6. For a new hose to fail so soon it must not have been crimped properly or was cross threaded. Let's see how long this next hose lasts.
  7. Link to my thread with pictures and differential oil specs. Also, Shell Spirax S6 AXME is one of the few that meets the MIL-L-2105E specification Changing the Eaton rear drive axle oil - iRV2 Forums
  8. We have the Heliotrope RV45D charge controller. I've removed it to change the settings and did not see any fuses. I've also removed the charge wires from the panels on the roof and there were no fuses there either. I'm guessing they are somewhere back near the batteries.
  9. Yes. You can turn that branch of the water system off at the Manibloc in your water bay. They are divided into hot on one side and cold on the other. I had to remove a panel inside the adjacent kitchen cabinet to access the back of the shower fixture. Very tight work.
  10. I changed the gear oil in our differential. It requires Mil Spec 2105D 75-90 gear oil. I used 14 Quarts of Redline Synthetic gear oil. There is a warning in the manual to make sure it's filled all the way to the fill hole.
  11. On the early model coaches Monaco installed the fuel tank in the front basement compartment. When the fuel and propane tanks are full it tends to overload the front axle. On slighly newer coaches they moved the fuel tank aft helping the weight distribution. Not much you can do but relocate heavy items aft. I also installed 315/80R-22.5 front tires. Even the large Newmar coaches in this era have the same issue.
  12. Make sure you check your fresh water fill hose. Ours was bad and the tank would only hold less than half.
  13. I had an upper shock mount break. I drilled a hole in the mounting plate and inserted a grade 8 bolt and mounted the shock to it.
  14. Who manufactured your original throttle assembly? Was it Kongsberg? What engine is in your coach? The reason I ask is the throttle position sensor must communicate with the engine ECM. Do you still have the original throttle position sensor? If so, don't let it out of your sight!
  15. We need to first figure out if the "no start" is related to the transmission light. When you say no start do you mean it will not crank over, or it cranks and doesn't fire? What condition is your chassis battery? Did you try the battery boost switch? Does the generator run and will your inverter charge the batteries?
  16. Our 2004 Signature uses a Sanden U4756 compressor on a Cummins ISX. It has a serpentine belt pulley. I think Monaco added the A/C compressors to the engines. Our dryer is a 4 Seasons 33276.
  17. Frank is correct. In late 2008 and 2009 Monaco installed the Kongsberg chassis multiplex system on the diesel coaches. There are very few places that can work on it. It may also help if you tell us what electrical problems you are having?
  18. Johnwuch had HWH Active air installed on his 05 Windsor. He had a complete Firestone system in his garage. https://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/firestone-intelliride-in-2005-imperial-342831-3.html Also, some of the guys on IRV2 have been able to get the Firestone software to run on Win 7. https://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/firestone-intelliride-in-2005-imperial-342831.html
  19. Monaco installed Valid air systems on 2007 and newer diesel coaches. 2006 and older used HWH systems except for some Windsor models and your Imperial. (A few of the Windsor owners have successfully repaired their Firestone systems.) So you should be able to retrofit either system. Having owned and worked on both I prefer the HWH system. The wiring to retrofit either system will be extensive but you may be able to adapt some of the current wiring. The optimum system would be the HWH active air but it's a $10k system upgrade from a current HWH air system. Also, Roadmaster Chassis and Freightliner are not related. Roadmaster was a division of Monaco Coach Corp that designed and built their own chassis based on an early Chrysler military division design. Best of luck!
  20. 1997-1998 were transition years for Cummins and Monaco. More than likely it's a mechanical engine but depending on when the chassis and engine were built there were a few electronic engines. Those mechanical engines are highly sought after.
  21. If you still have the original 80 watt solar panel you are doing great with 5.8 amps. Many folks confuse watts with amps.
  22. Congratulations on such a fine coach. Monaco used a large Intellitec relay to connect the house and chassis batteries. It's called the "Big Boy:. They are famous for getting carbon buildup inside. You can either rebuild it, or replace it. It's located in your rear electrical panel next to the engine (see picture). Be careful working back there as there is a lot of energy in all these batteries. Are you using the Boost switch next to the driver when you crank? Depress it and hold it for 10 seconds then crank the engine. Note, the Boost switch activates the Big Boy relay so depending on how bad it is this may not work. Most of us have installed a new gear reduction starter. It will crank much faster and require less battery power. Link: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f123/isx-525-starter-replacement-part-366504.html
  23. It's attached to the ceiling in your main basement bay just to the drivers side of the frame rail.
  24. The seats are manufactured by Villa International.
  25. No, the new Comfort Control thermostat will not work with the old A/C. You can use a conversion control board in the new A/C for it to work with the original 5 button thermostat. The problem is the conversion control boards are on back order.
