  1. With this faucet you have the added advantage of scalding protection in case of a flush during shower. https://youtu.be/ES2LfJEyhIk
  2. It is recommended to charge the batteries prior to adding distilled water. Don't know why, but I read it on the Interweb.
  3. The original tires were 255/70R22.5 and are fine per the specs from Hankook on their AH34 with 100 on the front and 120 on the rears. By jumping to the next size up you shift the load range up and the inflation down, but you get a stiffer ride with no benefit. Based on their inflation chart if you ignore the axle number you should be running 90 psi on the front and 80 psi on the rear (see below). Then take into account the axle on the front @ 10,000 lbs. and you can use the single axle number of 90 psi, but on the rear since your axle is rated 19,000 lbs. you will have to run @ 95 psi. 4. MTR comes with high accolades. Being a Cumming resident, I can attest to their reputation!
  5. When on standby, a resistive element can be made part of the circuit to limit current. During a starting event, a relay could be used to remove the resistive element and put the caps "on line" to start the engine. Now for the math! And boy what a relay. We have put the Discovery up for sale and have already had a valid offer. And, no, it is not a tag rig. The listing went up while I was out of town. She didn't know the difference! πŸ™ƒ https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2013-Fleetwood-DISCOVERY+40G-5026631705 I think I'll still hang around here for a while just to see how the group is doing.
  6. I'm glad I read down this far to read Chris's story. Very funny.
  7. If I don't end up selling, the tires will be replaced. Promise. Thanks for all the great advice.
  8. 40 ft. Discovery has original tires dated late 2012 but has been inspected by the truck tire center and they say they are still good. Most of its life the coach has been in conditioned space enclosed in a storage facility. On a scale of 1 to 10 how desperately should I be looking into new rubber and what is the latest recommendation for 275/70-R22.5?
  9. How about instead of rubber, it gets replaced with a grass skirt? https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Truck-Mudguards-Spray-Suppression-Equipment-Spray_60758099024.html
  10. On the 7-pin connector, you can provide 12VDC to the towed vehicles battery + terminal. ALWAYS put an in-line waterproof fuse on that connection (typically 20A). Attached is the pinout for my Fleetwood Discovery, which is probably standard. I fabricated my own quick disconnect cable to make sure this 12VDC source was included. Trailer Hitch Plug-Discovery.pdf
  11. 1. Always flush the campground water source for a minute to clear any debris (mud and sand), and sanitize the hose bibb threads. 2. Try disconnecting the hose either at the reel or the check valve and run city water through to flush any debris. Note the flow rate. 3. Place valve in city water position to eliminate fresh water tank and pump from circuit. 4. Remove pipe/hose from inlet side of filter and flush. Note flow rate. Replace connection and run flush with filter cans removed. Note flow rate. 5. Put the cans back on without the filters. remove the connection on the output side of the filters and flush. Note the flow rate. 6. Replace the connection to the filter output, remove all screen filters and clean them, then open all faucets and note the flow rate. 7. Turn off faucets one at a time and note flow rate. At this point you should know at least where your problem lies. Getting to the location where the blockage is might be the hardest part, but at least you know where to start. The plumbing is usually PEX-A, but 1/4" and 3/8" takes a special tool and if the blockage is in the pipe line you will need an RV tech. The bladder tank, if you have one should be set to the same value as your pressure reducing valve. The PRV is shown at the end of your hose on the reel and is replaceable. I take a water pressure gauge and measure pressure somewhere on the service side of the PRV. If you have an adjustable in-line PRV you can set the pressure to a known value. The point is that the bladder tank has a Schroeder valve (bicycle tire) and you add or remove pressure to match the static pressure of the system with the PRV set to the desired pressure. It should be in the 35-65 lb. range. Note that if you set pressure at 8,000 ft. asl keep it on the low side unless you want to readjust to lower altitudes when you come off the mountain.

  13. I hope you fare better than I did. I had a body shop (RV specialist) replace the 18 ft. awning on my Arctic Fox last year, and the bill was $6,433!
  14. Thank you all for the suggestions and "hints and kinks". We may have a broker coming to look at her so wanted to be prepared for anything. This coach is a beauty, and we will miss her - but times will be getting tough.
  15. No matches or smoking until repaired! πŸ˜‡
  16. Is it too late to add these magic potions? I did not have the intension of parking so long and have added conditioners.
  17. Our family coach has sat in storage since last year and I am concerned the fuel is stale. If we start the engine all kinds of things could happen. Any war stories? Also the tires are dated 2012, would you drive them to the dealer to get replaced or have them come out? They have spent a good portion of their life indoors.
  18. I passed a dump truck on a bridge and had no choice but to let the driver take part of my lane at 45 mph, he hit my mirror but no damage thank the Lord. There are a lot of new truck drivers on the road these days.

Torque wrench. That's all I need to say.
  20. If you like Grand Canyon, you will be amazed by https://www.nps.gov/cany/index.htm It was also formed by the Colorado river. Utah (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov) If wildlife is your goal nothing beats Rock Mountain Natl Park NW of Denver. Scenery? There are more 10,000+ peaks in San Juan National Forest than anywhere else. While there take the narrow gauge train from Durango to Silverton. https://www.durangotrain.com/ If you are a member of Good Sam they offer a trip planner. Trip Planner | Good Sam Club
  21. I know you are both glad the ordeal is over. You both deserve a dinner at Spring Marietta. Excellent food!
