Check engine light
Paul Busch replied to Paul Busch's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
Thanks John, I can’t level my coach where I am but am moving Monday so will check tranny. When the problem started I was climbing hills and might have been in economic mode but it was stuttering before it shifted. As I got out of the hills it shifted better. I will check the fluid when level. paul -
I think I asked this before but got no response. Detroit series 60 14L. Going through West Virginia in November 2020 claiming the long hills my check engine light came on. Going down the hills it would go out and on again with the climbing. It finally stays on all the time. I changed fuel filters , hydraulic filter and all fluids are as should be. Any Ideas? Paul

Generator Slide Creeps
Paul Busch replied to Dennis H's topic in Body, Awning, Roof, Slides, & Steps
I had this problem and I can’t remember which silinoid it was but I opened the 1/4” nuts on the open side and close side of each end of each silinoid and labeled them. As they were released I ran the open close for slides and found what was what one at a time and also as each was closed then the locking worked again. It is the same 1/4” nuts you would loosen if you had to manually close a room slide or gen slide. -
Dennis, I got the Power Probe 3SO3AS and love it. It has a switch to power 12V and a breaker when I short it out. Check it out. They have much nicer units but for what I need this is great. I also bought a 5amp power converter so I didn’t need to buy the extension cable. Paul

California Will Now be Off My List of States to Visit

They don’t like big rigs, I don’t like California. It is a shame. I visited California in 1990 and it might be the prettiest place I have ever seen. -
New 5 series Hella Lamps. Poor light.
Paul Busch replied to rustykramermetalfab's topic in General Motorhome Discussion
Cool, fun to learn. Mine are from 2006 Ford Expedition. I was looking at projector lights but I put them in my 02 trailblazer and wasn’t happy with them and put factory lens and bulbs back. Good luck. -

I am not sure what your lights are. In 2016 I put led headlight bulbs in my 2005 Monaco. My low beam just quit working and I bought the newest version of the 2006 bulb in led. They they have a smaller ballast and transformer and are working great. Speak to Steve at M4 led products. He walked me through the reorder. good luck -
Dave, Which radio did you use? paul

Rick, I replaced the 4 house and 4 residential fridge battery’s with NAPA batteries. I can’t remember who makes them for Napa but they are the same as a lot of more expensive batteries. I like the idea of AGM and it is nice. To not have to watch them. I used two of the biggest Optima AGM batteries I could find for the starter batteries. This was 4 years ago so might be better options now. Works for me now. paul

My sig has 4 house and I replaced with 4 AGM 2 years ago. Works for me.

I ordered some DeOxit to clean my ground bars around the coach. Is it safe on plastic or do I need to be careful? paul

I installed LVP in my 2005 Sig last year. The worst part was removing the old carpet and staples. I squared up the stone floor at entry and kitchen. No flexible trim available at the time. That was also quite a bit of work removing a little bit of stone. I used a 3-350 square foot price range plank. Don’t remember brand from Home Depot. I had 2 spots where water damage was evident from my big slide and removed chairs and found room around bases where daylight showed. I patched soft spots, primed the sub base and used 1/4” styrofoam in lasers to build up main floor to avoid larg space between slides and main floor. I was concerned it might be noisier without carpet but I think the styrofoam insulation is quieter. I also removed the bed and did under it with the bedroom. There are plenty of trims available to finish the job. I covered the access engine panel in the bedroom also and used Velcro to attach trim pieces. The only part I didn’t do was the bedroom closet. Cost about 1800 for materials. paul

Monaco 2005 Velvac Driver side mirror

They fit pretty well. Might be a 1/8” gap at center of radius but I am going mask, caulk and paint. I didn’t have anything handy for a gasket. -
Update headlights or bulbs 2005 signature

I will try that. I bought the after market replacements from eBay and they were pretty nice and reasonable. I will look for projector headlights. I have nerve been able to find which vehicle they are from. thanks for the help -
Update headlights or bulbs 2005 signature
Paul Busch replied to Paul Busch's topic in Electrical Systems
Thanks, I will look into it Paul -
Does anyone have suggestions on updates to 2005 headlights to latest led or something better? I replaced the headlights with aftermarket and added led bulbs with ballast a couple years ago. Some road worker sandblasted my driver headlight and the led isn’t working now. Any ideas would be appreciated. I envy the newer coaches for their headlights. paul
