  1. Pull the covers and ends off of the slide's topper roll up and put some screws in the roll up so the roll won't up and maybe break the spring. Like Bob said, the party's over, save what's left. Gary 05 AMB DST
  2. Andy, even caging them now, they will still be rusted to the drum. I'm sure someone will tell us how to free them. Gary 05 AMB DST
  3. Were the rear brakes caged? The rear shoes may be rusted against the drum, won't move. Try reverse first. Gary 05 AMB DST
  4. My bathroom door did the same. Some of the walls aren't attached to the floor, that is why they move. Try moving the surround back to where it was and figure out a way to lock it in place. Gary 05 AMB DST
  5. I try to keep any replacements the same as what came from the factory. Everything is set up to manage as original. Gary 05 AMB DST
  6. I believe that Front Line is the manufacturer of the fiberglass shower assembly. Gary 05 AMB DST
  7. $8.29/ft? On mine I rotated the gasket, top to bottom. Good for another 12 yrs. Gary 05 AMB DST
  8. Chris Throgmorton, Stonevos. There was a time13 or so years ago there were no springs available. I believe Chris found a manufacturer so there would be springs available as his topper business was starting out. Gary 05 AMB DST
  9. What I did for my Samsung when driving. I hard wired 12v from my house batteries to a 800 watt inverter in the adjacent bay. I ran 120v wire with a male plug from the inverter to the refrigerator with a female receptacle. When on the road, I plug the fridge into the inverter and turn it on. When on shore power, I use the 120v receptacle. I'm not putting extra draw on the main inverter. Gary 05 AMB DST
  10. Chris, you can take the chrome topper cover off and you will get access to the topper roller and wind it back up by hand. You could jerry rig a way to stop the roller from unwinding. If you hit the road before a spring arrives, just close the slide and wind up the topper as it closes and lock the roller from unwinding. Gary 05 AMB DST
  11. Maybe the dump valve isn't operating. Is there power going to the valve? Gary 05 AMB DST
  12. That's what I've done for years. The boost switch just closes the solenoid to connect the 2 sets of batteries together temporarily. Gary 05 AMB DST
  13. I also dislike the phones and televisions but that's a different subject. Gary 05 AMB DST
  14. Over the years, by dragging objects over the gasket, the rubber would tear and expose the metal in it. What I did was rotate the gasket to put the beat-up section on top and the, like new, on the bottom. Gary 05 AMB DST
  15. Not knowing anything about RV's when I bought mine new, I am so happy that the Ambassador was the only pusher I could afford. I hate electronics but I love hard wire connections. That was what I grew up with in the mid 60's. My 53 and 55 Chevys taught me how to maintain those vehicles up to the mid 70's when the big changes came. Gary 05 AMB DST
  16. Just get Cummins Compleat and fill till full. It must be changed at 1 million miles. Gary 05 AMB DST
  17. jlynn, you're talking about more in the center of the motorhome? Where all those "lines" are bundled together? Gary 05 AMB DST
  18. Pat, I see that Hot Shot is used every 6000 mi. Not knowing when DEF began, do you add an additive to the fuel to add sulphur to the fuel? Gary 05 AMB DST
  19. MJS, checking the brakes. The brake shoes have a V cut in them. If you don't see that, the brakes are worn beyond acceptance. That is how the on-road inspectors can see if the brakes are OK. Gary 05 AMB DST
  20. On my 05 Ambassadsor, I can't see a connection for the air duct up to the air intake. The air duct could have been attached to the air intake after the tail section (?) had been attached to the walls, but before the inner walls were built. You may have to cut the existing air duct and install a connector piece. Be careful with the existing air duct. It is probably very brittle. Too much stress could tear it up toward the intake. 21. My overhead door hinge springs were wearing out. What I did was break away the spring assembly from the hinge and install the small door struts. Go with the better metal struts instead of the plastic ones. Cheaper and you still have the original brass hinge. Gary 05 AMB DST
  22. Taking a picture of the fuse chart on the box cover was one of the first things I did. Those paper charts don't last long in wet conditions. Now, I hope I can remember where it is saved. Gary 05 AMB DST
  23. In that time frame, the cause of the black paint checking was that a new, outdoor siding panel was used. The new panels would outgas in the hot sun. That caused the paint to do what you see (checking). No problem. Some non-owners think that it was finished that way and complimented it. Gary 05 AMB DST
