  1. Ben, thanks for the lesson on the tanks. I'm pretty sure I knew that 17 years ago when I read the owner's manual thoroughly as a new and first time owner. Always wondered why that male fitting always had more moisture when bleeding the tanks. Gary 05 AMB DST
  2. Does a 07 Endeavor have 3 tanks? I know my 05 Ambassador only has two and it was built on the Roadmaster platform that included the Endeavor and Ambassador, I just didn't have the 400HP engine and luxuries of the Endeavor. I think 08 was when Monaco upgraded the platforms. Gary 05 AMB DST
  3. No rollers, only the white plastic, I can't remember the name of it. Gary 05 AMB DST
  4. On my 05 Ambassador the dump valve is in the open area behind the front section on the driver's side at the top. Just a simple electric air release solenoid. Gary 05 AMB DST
  5. As a second thought, leave a rope or wire in the tunnel when done. It will be there to pull something through later. Gary 05 AMB DST
  6. On my 05 Ambassador, the tunnel ends after the generator. Open the generator slide and go underneath. You should be able to see to the engine compartment. It's hard to believe that Monaco would really stick us with rubber hoses for 30 feet. Gary 05 AMB DST
  7. Aren't the heater hoses metal pipe through the tunnel? Gary 05 AMB DST
  8. Will a magnet stick to the slide flange? Gary 05 AMB DST
  9. I am a believer in keeping things the way they were from the factory. A lot of changes have been made electronically that the older MH's weren't designed for. Gary 05 AMB DST
  10. Got this from the Roadmaster plant manager in Elkhart, IN in 2008. After I bought my 05 Ambassador, I would make annual trips for the Ramblin'pushers rally in Goshen. I would go to the RV assembly plant tour twice a day to watch the assembly of the motorhomes to get knowledge of the construction of the MH. Same with the Roadmaster frame assembly plant but only one a day. In my 05 owner's manual, chart-filters & belts, it shows a coolant filter. I asked the plant manager where the filter was located. He looked in my manual and a 04 manual and they both showed the filter. He told me that the government rated the SCA filter as a hazardous material and it was removed from the engines in 2005. Since my 05 Amb was the first year for the 8 air bag suspension, as on the Endeaver, Holiday Rambler just took the 04 owner's manual and renamed it for the 05 Ambassador. Poor proof reading. Now the Fleetguard Compleat anti-freeze has an SCA additive in it and it is good for 150,000mi. At that point you should check the SCA level in the antifreeze and add the required amount. The antifreeze is good for 1,000,000 miles. Just my thoughts on replacing antifreeze. Gary 05 AMB DST
  11. Do you still have the foam rubber that goes between the top of the condenser coil and the cover? Gary 05 AMB DST
  12. Rik, Thanks for showing up in the discussion. I don't have the knowledge to try to defend Centramatic. I just buy the tires and add what I think will help. That's why I mentioned anti-seize coating on the Centramatic or drum on front and coat the rears to prevent a rust caused bond that would hurt the Centre by a as__ole installer. Gary 05 AMB DST Let a clump of beads throw a tire out of balance and "maybe" need a new tire. Gary 05 AMB DST
  13. Ben, is SCA the coolant additive that requires a filter? I am blank on SCA though I know I have heard about it. Gary 05 AMB DST
  14. What about using Cummins Compleat anti-freeze? Gary 05 AMB DST
  15. Within 2 years of purchasing my MH new, Cummins had a recall on warped exhaust manifolds. Looking at the model years of some of these statements, it looks like there was a problem that they ignored. My 05 has the ISC 300HP. Gary 05 AMB DST
  16. Agopopp, traced it on Amazon, $28.98 for a bag of 250. They must be a popular construction, electrical bushing. Thanks' Gary 05 AMB DST
  17. Why wouldn't anyone want to switch to Centramatic? Does anyone have anything to say about the Centramatics? Gary 05 AMB DST
  18. If I remember correctly, you could or should put a screw in the hole to keep the tension and the metal top piece should be removed to make access easier. I think those end caps are hard to find so you don't want to break them. Gary 05 AMB DST
  19. The towing service you used, did you call them or were they sent by a towing service? With Coach-Net seemingly not the same as they were before being sold, FMCA has a towing service for members, $147/year. Gary 05 AMB DST
  20. Who is CG&J? I'll add it to my list of service providers. Gary 05 AMB DST
  21. Do not use a power washer. It will bend the fins. I wash the radiator from inside like Tom just described. Spraying the radiator with a water hose, front or back, will not get the water through the fins, too much weave back and forth. The good part is starting the engine after rinsing from the inside, one heck of a soap bubble storm out the back. Gary 05 AMB DST
  22. Switched to 4 Centramatics on my last set of tires. They are reusable and you don't have to depend on anybody to balance your tires. I put anti-seize on the Centramatics so it won't rust and bind to the brake drum or wheel. Gary 05 AMB DST
  23. The purpose of the topper is to keep branches and other objects off the top of the slide. If you can control the topper getting rolled up and locked, you can still use the slide but that last piece that is holding the topper to the MH is done. There is a piece of 3/8 diameter nylon that slides into the slot with the topper to keep it attached to the motor home.
