  1. Ivan, what shunt are you using? I have been looking at the Victron ip65 but it’s a little pricey for my needs
  2. Doug, did you ever find out what the problem was with your HWH panel?
  3. I had to leave it as a core for the rebuilt starter I received. I thought $300 was a fair deal
  4. Yesterday I installed the starter and it went pretty well. It was a struggle getting it in place but finally got it bolted back on. I cleaned all the connections with a wire brush then coated them with terminal spray. Then the moment of truth…..it fired right up and a big sigh of relief. I started it 4 or 5 times and it was perfect so hopefully I can close this chapter and move on to another.
  5. I replaced mine with a new JC gas cooling unit and it never cooled in the frige well. They had me do a bunch of tests and determined the new cooling was bad. They sent me a brand new 12 volt dual compressor model and it has been fantastic. They have the form on there web site for testing.
  6. I picked up my starter today and plan on installing it back on tomorrow. I made a jig to help guide it back into place because it weighs a ton. I would like to put something on the connections to help prevent corrosion since it’s so exposed underneath. I have kind of ruled out dielectric grease and I’m wondering if I should just put it on dry and spray on the red stuff I normally put on the battery terminals. This is what I have.
  7. That’s what I’m thinking. I think it was modified.
  8. I replaced the skylight on my Dynasty last year. I noticed in the video above that there was two layers of skylight one clear and one tinted. When I removed mine it was just one tinted skylight and that’s what I put back on. I don’t know if was the original skylight but did they come from the factory with two layers?
  9. I have the huge tank as well and only have a two burner stove top so I converted my portable gas grill from those little throw away bottles to using the big tank. It’s so nice now I just get out my grill hook up my long LP hose that as quick connect fittings on both ends and I’m ready to grill in less than 5 min. I never worry about running out of gas now with the grill.
  10. I went over today to remove the starter. The 12mm spline socket fit perfectly no play in it at all. The two bottom bolts came off no problem but the top one that’s hidden and hard to get to was a real PITA. The solenoid on the top made it very difficult to get the socket on it. I tried many different extensions and swivels and after and hour or more I finally got it off. I brought it up to C&S in Atlanta to get it rebuilt. They just called me and said they can’t get parts for it so the are rebuilding a Delco starter for me. The other shop I talked two said the same thing about the Leece Neville starters no parts so I guess you can’t get those rebuilt anymore
  11. We where just in Moab a few weeks ago and went hiking in some remote areas around there. It amazed me how we would have zero cell signal for a long time but when we got to a high mountain area all of a sudden a text would come through. There wasn’t any cell towers anywhere around there.
  12. Thanks Richard. I did some more research on these bolts and found it looks like a 12 point spline bolt. Maybe that’s the same as flange bolt I’m not sure. They look similar. I’m going to order a 12 point spline kit and see if that fits better. I don’t even want to attempt it unless that socket fits snug on there. That’s all I need is to round the head then I really have problems.
  13. Thanks for the information on C&S auto. I went over and it looks like the Starter bolts are 12 point sockets. The only one I found fits is 1/2 inch but it seems like it has a tad bit of play. Does anyone know if it metric?
  14. I found a shop that rebuilds starters and other components so I’m going to bring it over to them. He told me that parts are hard to get for the Leece Navile starters so I might end up having to get another one. I’m hoping it’s just a bad solenoid……should be interesting
  15. I made it Home Saturday without any issues with the starter on my last 3 stops. When I went today to bring it over to the storage lot it took 6 attempts to start it each time I could hear the solenoid engage. I looked in the parts file and found this: (Cummins ISL 400 DensoRemy Model 8300013; 39MT; 12 Volts; rotation CW) I have searched on line for this with these numbers and I get many different looking starters. Some have the gear fully exposed and some as in someone’s previous post shows it partially covered. Has anyone replaced their ISL 400 starter and no what would fit my year? This is a picture of my starter and it has a different number then the one listed in the parts file
  16. My experience with JC was very positive. When my Norcold started acting up I replaced it myself with a JC gas cooling unit. After installation it never worked right. I played with it for a few weeks or more and still didn’t cool well in warm weather. After speaking with them and doing some tests they determined that the unit was defective. I didn’t want another gas model so they sent me a brand new 12 volt dual compressor model at no cost. I have used it now in all seasons and it has been rock steady at 36 degrees and 0 degrees in the freezer. Just finishing up a 6 week trip out west and it has been perfect. I always worried about the temperature in the fridge but not anymore. JC should have given your money back or replaced it with another unit at the least. I’m just know my experience was positive with them.
  17. I am just completing a 6 week trip all over the country and I use a Mofi 5500 with a pepwave 4x4 MIMO Antenna with carrier aggregation. It has preformed great and we have been in some areas with terrible service and always had good internet with the Mofi
  18. I have an 06 Dynasty and I seem to have the starting relay in mine. Maybe this will help to see how it’s wired.
  19. Thanks Frank, yes that’s what I believe as well. Just hoping I can get it home before it goes out totally. 5 more stops
  20. I am now in Wichita Falls getting ready to head to Waco this morning. Yesterday on the first attempt it didn’t start but I definitely heard the solenoid loud and clear then it started on the second attempt. It seems now that every attempt it’s not starting but eventually after one or two times it does. We are going to be 3 days in Waco so I am going to crawl under and try to tighten all the connections to the starter and grounds and recheck the battery connections. I just hit 70,000 miles so I guess the starter could be bad maybe even though the starting batteries are two years old and show great voltage that they could have a problem. Next time it doesn’t start I was going to try the battery boost switch and see if that does anything. I am trying to get her home so I can order a starter and do this myself but we have 10 more days. I would love to go on a trip just once and not have any problems. Seems like I always have some kind of drama.
  21. Thanks for the information. I’m hoping the teeth aren’t broken. I’m going to start the engine from the rear in the morning. Does the ignition key need to be on for that?
  22. I m on a 4000 mile trip and a few days ago I fueled up midway to a campground and turned the key and nothing happened. Tried agian and it started. The next morning the same thing but it took 3 attempts of turning the key until it started. I am now sitting in Amarillo Texas and have one more day till we leave and am afraid if this thing is going to start. After I replaced the ignition switch in January we went on couple of trips and have started it to get fuel and bring it to the house a few times and no starting problems. I thought it was fixed for sure. We have traveled a couple thousand miles with no issue till now. This sounds different though. When trying to start before I didn’t hear anything now I can hear a click something coming from the rear. I haven’t investigated because it eventually starts so tomorrow when we leave I’m going to stand behind to hear. I have checked battery connections in the battery bays and both battery banks are at 13.5 volts. I think it’s the starter or the solenoid. I am hoping I can finish this trip out and fix it when I get home. Hopefully I can get it started each morning.
  23. I have Coach Net as well and will be interested in how they tow your rig. Never been towed before so please let us know how it goes. Sorry I can’t give you any advice. I’m sure some others will help.
  24. My wife loves to stop and shop at Buc-ess so we just pull in and find a place to park , but recently I needed fuel so I decided to give it a whirl. Well it didn’t go so well. It was packed as usual and I had to keep circling to find an end spot I could get into. After about 10 min I finally found a spot the problem was and I don’t know if they are all like this but the pump was so slow. After about 10 minutes I only had 50 gallons pumped in so I gave up and said never again. Yes the price was good but just not worth the hassle. I have TSD logistics fuel card as well and use that all the time. I will just stop and shop at Buc-ees in the future unless the place is a ghost town.
