  1. OK, I gotta ask: what’s a CAC? What’s a RAD? Ed ‘05 HR Ambassador
  2. Do you have the model number of the Frigidaire? Ed
  3. Tom, Difficult to talk about fuel prices without discussing reasons. BTW, Tulsa regular just hit $3.999! Ed
  4. I don’t think you have this setup but for anyone who has a battery temp sensor port on there inverter I once read this piece of advice. Never attach the end of the BTS cable directly to the battery as it can destroy an inverter in an instant. Rather attach it in some other spot in the battery bay. Don’t have a really good recollection of that post. Maybe someone else has some knowledge of this.
  5. The ME-RC and ME-ARC have different function buttons along the bottom. ME-RC buttons are Shore-AGS-Meter-Setup-Tech. ME-ARC buttons are Favs-CTRL-Meter-Setup-Tech. That’s the only way I know to tell the difference. I had a ME2012 and replaced it with a MS2012. Neither requires doing anything with the Inverter button when switching between shore and house power except when some rogue electron may have switched the inverter off. Ed ‘05 HR Ambassador
  6. Thanks. I think this might be epa response to my reply on this thread. I found the snap disk but it’s in a ridiculously difficult place to access. That is why I plan to test the cube heater first. Three wire connector so I assume wire is for heater power, one for 12v from the snap disk and one for ground. Ed
  7. That would be great if I could access the snap disk without major disassembly of the wet bay. It took forever but the disk was finally located totally out of reach. Think I’ll test the bay heater before trying to get to the snap disk. Since the heater has a three pin connector I am assuming I can put 12v to two of the pins and ground to the third. Am I correct? Sounds like the fuse in the heater is a problem area, though. Ed ’05 HR Ambassador
  8. Do you know if they mount in the same holes as the Dometics or will it take some cutting and drilling? Ed ‘05 HR Ambassador
  9. Do you know any brands and models that are lithium specific?
  10. I’ve read you should do long term storage of LiFePO4 lithium batteries, the norm for RV use, at 50-60% state of charge, SOC. I don’t know about other lithium chemistries. Other writers state different SOC numbers for storing but they all say 100% is not good. What I’ve found is getting them to 50-60% SOC before disconnecting from charger is difficult. After putting a load on them and disconnecting the charger I get busy and forget to check periodically. Next I know their down to 20% or less. Then have to start the process all over again. Then there is the issue of not getting an accurate voltage while there is a load on the batteries. This might not really be a problem if the battery management kit gives accurate SOC. Am I correct on this?
  11. Have you made it so the display can show lone or combos of vehicles? Motorhome pulling toad, motorhome solo, toad solo, toad pulling utility trailer, toad pulling boat trailer., motorhome pulling boat trailer, motorhome pulling utility trailer?
  12. I have the TST system, also. I like it but have two gripes. They couldn’t have picked worse colors for the screen, blue on black. I practically have to stop driving so I can get a close look to read the numbers. Also, the setup for different combinations of vehicle is very inflexible. Other than that it works good. 14. It’s an inverter/charger. I’ve read articles where they don’t make a distinction between converters and chargers but in my mind they are the same but different. In terms of powering 12v devices they might operate the same, though. Not perfectly sure.
  15. Found it: https://www.doityourselfrv.com/will-an-rv-converter-work-without-a-battery/
  16. I believe I read an article in the last two weeks that said everything will work with bad or no batteries when you are plugged into shore power or generator. Of course I can’t remember where I read that.
  17. I think that might be my next purchase. I have a Govee wifi temp sensor for my storage building but didn’t think to bring it. It will send information over the internet to my phone. Related question. I have lithium batteries that should be protected from charging below freezing temperatures. The built-in BMS and Magnum inverter/charger should shut off charging at that temperature. But being the paranoid type, especially with such expensive batteries, I wondered about another option. If I turn the battery disconnect switch off will the twelve volt items in the coach including the propane furnaces still work from the inverter/charger?
  18. Good to know. Fortunately this should be a short term event.
  19. I just remembered I have a ceramic heater I think will fit. BTW, I think the wet bay and water heater compartment are directly opposite each other with the potable water tank between them. If so would some heated air from a heat source in the wet bay find it’s way to the water heater compartment? As to the sewer hoses my thinking was to disconnect so I can put the cover over the big hole in the floor they feed through. But since heat rises this probably doesn’t change much except keep the wind from blowing cold air in. A side point. Couldn’t they have come up with a better method of putting that cover in than a threaded fitting? It’s really hard to get it on without cross threading. I’ve considered putting one or two screen door type handles or knobs on the top of it to get a better grip. Same thing holds for the cover of the hole the electric cable goes through. Of course putting a mark on the cover and one on the hole where the threads line up would help. (Tomorrow, maybe the next day, I’ll do something about this procrastination.)
  20. This is the first time I have camped when there will be a hard freeze overnight. Expecting 24°. It should be around 40° until nightfall and warms up again tomorrow into the lower 50s. Of course we have the heat on so I’m not worried about any lines above the floor. I plan to open the cabinets just to be sure. My main concern is in the wet bay and behind the water heater. I’ll unhook and retract the water hose. Will also disconnect the sewer hose so I can plug the big hole in the wet bay floor. Saw some clamp on utility lights at Walmart that I could put 150 watt bulbs in and place in those two bays. Do I need to bother with that? Like I said, this is a new experience so guidance is appreciated. Ed ’05 HR Ambassador
  21. Next question. We don’t need to get too in depth right now but how do you get a scan of the part to be duplicated? In another thread it was recommended to check a site called thingiverse.com (I may not remember that correctly). Thanks, Ed ’05 HR Ambassador
  22. My understanding is yes, best practice is to get weights on each corner. But don’t set pressures different at each corner. Rather, take the highest weight on each end of each axle and set the pressure for the tires on both ends of that axle the same. That pressure should be based on the tire manufacturers tables. Now, I’d like to know where this “safety margin” came from. I know the tire guru who writes for one of the online RV newsletters uses it but never justifies the concept. He also believes you shouldn’t correct the tire manufacturers tables to account for the difference between the “cold” inflation temperature and the 75° the tables are based on. I believe you should. 23. Your right, but I already knew that. That’s what I am trying to determine. Was there ever anything in those two holes or were they covered like Scotty’s? Does this warrant busting my butt to fish for them dropped somewhere behind the wet bay panel or just assume there was a cover for the two holes and they aren’t used for anything. Simple question in my mind. Ultimately we’re talking about the “ infernal seed of doubt”.
