  1. I followed the instructions for my stacked splendide. Did not turn off anything. Put af in the drum and ran it according to the instructions. Unit spent all winter in unheated storage. Today I started de winterizing. All seems ok
  2. Has anyone used the TSD in AZ? The truck pumps in Arizona include an extra tax. The RV or car pumps do not. I think it is 8 cents a gallon. Muflapis horrible. You do have to go inside. Many times the only ovations with a good price are very small. Casey's in some locations are not rv friendly. Other locations are far from the freeways. Crowded stations are an accident waiting to happen.
  3. Pompeo. Why would anyone rotate tires on a MH? Definitely not a standard practice and of no value. Tags and Duallies wear differently than steers. Besides most owners change tires due to age not wear.
  4. One of the problems is there is not a lot of completion.when the huge conglomerates buy up some of the old names all the coaches become similar. Because the assembly lines require speed quality goes down hill. Construction methods are not designed for durability. Just for fast assembly. Look at what happened to Entegra or Isata/ Dynamax. Has Newmar and Winnie gone downhill? More and more an older high end unit is not only superior to today's junk they are less expensive. However Bob's $10,000 upgrade cost would only work if the owner was handy and did all the work
  5. Bob. Sorry to burst your Balloon. I am sure your Dad is happy with that unit. However it is not a million mile chassis. Even many of the entry level DP's are not million mile vehicles. Today's rv's are not up to the standards of even units from 10 years ago. Your Diplomat has a build quality that is rare in newer DP's.
  6. Tires are in short supply do forget about deals.
  7. In the past steering rear axles have been problematic. Bluebird tried it and owners ended up welding the pins and disabling the controls. Perhaps engineers have re engineered those systems. Our Dynasy has a true tag lift and it has been flawless.
  8. It is great that Foretravel was sold and remains in business. I am told they have an amazing service dept. Although Prevost's do tend ro be complicated Prevost does have many service centre's. Of course that is for the chassis. My fave is the Marathon. I have been to the factory twice and it is impressive. They have 2 or maybe 3 locations. There are a number of dealers for various Prevost convertors that can do all kinds of service work including complete new interiors. But costly.
  9. Gorgeous coach. I assume it is a 45 ft. We love our 08 Dynasty but I am jealous!
  10. Andrew is a leach. He latches onto some of the high end consignment dealers that have questionable sales tactics. Andrew has little knowledge of motorhomes. I have seen him flog coaches that were dogs. Some of the frequent posters in this forum could do a much better job without prostituting their reputation. You tube is full of way too many self proclaimed experts.
  11. In some foreign language Lippert means junk. But the rv mfrs. like bring able o deal with one supplier. Lippert is the mfr. of all the frames for those cheap travel trailers. The frames bend and break. Lippert supplies everything from frames and slide outs to mattresses. It is comical that they are called Lippert Engineering
  12. It is great that hwh has remained in business. It seems all of the suppliers are being bought out by Lippert or Dometic Once these old companies are sold service is not important and legacy products become obsolete.
  13. That is the fan system ! I remember posters being very pleased with the result. I mentioned this because the op was adamant in not wanting a house fridge
  14. Back when everyone was having Norcold problems many users did a fan install. 3 computer fans were installed under the roof top vent. This provided the proper air circulation. If you go to the irv2 Monaco site there are pictures
  15. Unless you change the cooling system the risk if fire is always present. No matter what you do the cost is what you called expensive. JC refrigeration could replace the cooling system with a 12 volt unit. Or you could install the Amish cooling unit. It still runs on propane. If you install anything that uses propane a fire extinguishing system should be installed. More expense.

  17. I went to the Bridgestone web site. There is only one tire exclusively for a coach. It only comes in a 315/80 . Very aggressive tread. I would never put them on any mh. Maybe on a Prevost. There are a few tires listed that are primarily for trucks but also can be used on a coach. So to repeat what I wrote there really are no specific motor home tires other than the g 670 Anyone using those is engaging in Russian roulette. Even Michelin does not make rv specific motor home tires. They dud have one tire that was popular on smaller motorhomes about 10 years ago. They cracked like crazy I have not checked lately but most mfrs. use Michelin. I have seen a few with Contimentals. They stopped using Toyo after a problem on National/ Country Coach. I think Toyo said it was front axle overweight problem.
  18. Wayne. What size did you use? What model Bridgestone did you buy. Thanks
  19. Why do people think they should buy motor coach tires Onl gy makes those and they are the worst tire known to mankind. I think Continental has motor coach tires but not much size choice. Most mfrs. have steer or multi position tires that can be used on a MH. Often this is noted in the literature. If not just call the mfr. tech support and they will recommend a suitable tire. Bu these are not specifically mh tires. They are truck tires that will work.
  20. Thanks, but I am fully aware of the Rev group. They no longer provide any support for Legacy Monacos. I am not even sure if they will send you a build sheet. It is not a parts list and only includes the models of major parts. Sometimes it is handy. The parts list in this forum is the best resource for Monaco owners.
  21. Geraldoh. Can you please provide further info . I have never seen a website called monacorev??
  22. Nice report. Velocity has many locations. Which one did you use?
  23. Hi Bob. Have not been able to use our unit due to the pandemic and closed borders. I will watch gor Churchill news and post anything relevant .
  24. We live in Manitoba. I would be cautious booking a tour tight now. Climate change is having extreme effects on that area. Might not be any bears to see. I don't follow the North very much but there has been trouble with the railroad. I do know that they could sure use the tourist business with all the closed borders.
  25. Thanks. Mine is the original sensor. The new ones are quite different. The same shape as a breakaway switch. Replacing it would be a big hassle. The inverter is in the second from the front bay. Attached to the ceiling. I would have to drop the ceiling in the next bay The wire probably exits before the wheel well. It is my understanding that you can just disconnect the sensor. The inverter then defaults to one temp. setting
