  1. I the event that you didn’t know, the torque spec for the 33mm nut is 450-500 ft pounds of torque.

My 2 cents on this thread, personally I wouldn’t upgrade to a larger coach/engine combination unless it has a engine brake, especially if you are towing heavy as stated, if you ask the current owner if it has an engine brake or an exhaust brake (hopefully he knows the difference) it might determine what power plant it really has, I don’t believe ISC’s had the engine brake as an option, only exhaust brakes, to my understanding, If it’s a transplanted engine it might not have an engine brake( lots of reprogramming with transmission and what not), I would think that if it has the engine brake it most likely was built that way. Jmo.
  4. Glad I could help! Fwiw, I use a Fleetguard product, ES Complete, with the blue label. The best thing you can do is educate yourself on coolant.   6. I hit mine accidentally last year working on the coach, everything was dead in the coach, I’m like, “oh great, now what!!!!” Don’t know how old you are but just wait, it gets better, I guarantee it! 😂😂

After making a living owning a trucking company, avoiding a known on the road break down, it will be better, easier and cheaper to do the repairs at your convenience, not when the coach forces the repairs, sometimes when those repairs need to happen it’s not at a repair facility of your choice! For me, it would be a peace of mind knowing that a major repair was complete and not around the next corner. Also, if you drop a value the money you allowed on the purchase probably wouldn’t cover the repairs after you drop a valve! JMO! Like I said, I have a different point of view when it comes to repairs, they’re always cheaper when you plan the repairs!
  8. I did the C low tank a year ago, probably 6-7 thousand miles, excellent quality and fast shipping, I’m happy with it, I would do the same tank again! The reason I chose this tank is because you can see the coolant level.

  10. Well I had to use one of the magnets last week that I purchased previously, we left Cody last Thursday and the steps would not retract, tested with a magnet I had in my tools and then the steps retracted, installed a new magnet on the door and back in business!

Imo, it sounds like you are at home, change them out for new, at five years old they are subject to failure, do you really want to be dealing with this on the road somewhere, if so leave them in and run them till they die! JMO Most definitely get group 31 950 cca, most truck repair shops should have them on hand. NAPA Peterbilt Kenworth

  13. If you tightened the fitting and not the nut it may still leak, that’s why I said to use two wrenches, hold the fitting and tighten the nut, if you have not already, you may only need a new o-ring.

I think I might try to tighten it up a bit, don’t get too aggressive with it, that washer just compresses a o-ring, use two wrenches , one to hold the elbow and one to tighten the nut, so I’d start with that and see what happens. I assumed it was hydraulic fluid based on the color, jmo. If you’ve never changed your hydraulic fluid now would be the time! Remove the hose, slowly, and see how much you lose, probably not that much. Just have a couple gallon bucket ready to use. Jmo.
  17. Looks to me as though the o-ring on the fitting the screws into the pump is all that my be the issue, again, it looks like it is the problem, I would start be trying to tighten the fitting and see what happens, jmo
  18. My bulbs and the inside of my fixtures were dirty, I cleaned the fixtures and installed new bulbs and it seems brighter than before on my. FWIW
  19. There’s some construction in South Dakota on I-90 that puts you on a single lane with oncoming traffic, a couple of the cross overs are kinda wonky! Expect hot weather too! And yes, lots of motorcycles and high prices a 100 miles each side of Sturgis.
  20. You can down load the maintenance manual on line and go through the trouble shooting steps and it will point you to the issue. You will have to take the cover off of the Aqua Hot and know how to use a multi meter and read the trouble shooting guide, make sure you turn off the power (120volt) when instructed! I had a problem with mine last winter and it ended up being the high limit switch on the 120 volt side! Just make sure you understand what you are doing!

Today, working our way across South Dakota from Hot Springs to Lusk Wy I stopped at Mule Creek Junction to use the restroom, it was almost 100* the wind was blowing everything was running hot, engine, transmission, the dash air was running on max, fan on high, when I jumped out and headed in the fan was running, I thought maybe my fan controller took a poop on me, when I returned to the coach the fan was still running fairly fast, I jumped in turned the dash AC off and when I got back out and to the rear of the coach the fan was winding down. Turned the AC on and headed to Lusk Wy when we checked in at BJ’s RV park the fan was running again, we checked in and I turned off the dash AC when we came out to unhook the Jeep, when I got to the rear of the coach the fan was slowing down significantly and you could no longer hear it working. Engine temp about 190*. I guess for me anyway, I will stick with the Danfoss fan controller, it confirmed to me that the fan needs to pull air thru the cooling stack other than when the engine has warm coolant. JMO
