single to double din adaptor
miacasa_2000 replied to snoracer's topic in Audio, Video, & Electronics
Tim if your skills with wood working are ok to do it with wood then you also could do it with sign material. That's what I did you use all the same wood working tools on it (saws,drills,router,Etc..) the material is 2 pcs of aluminum with rubber in-between so much stronger and will never crack and can hold the weight of radios and more. It's 1/4" thick but bevels nicely to create a nice edge. I picked up a scrap pc at a local sign shop and made my radio dash plate and my wall panel. Roy 2003 Dynasty -
If the bay door switch is like mine female ends on the wires you can use the larger spaded fuses to bypass the switch and complete the circuit. If you have enough fuses you can eliminate all the switches if that doesn't work you will have at least eliminated that part of the puzzle. And if it works you then can add them back one at a time until you find the culprit. Roy 2003 Dynasty

Grant I have a question for you since I have one weeping and my thinking was to rebuild all of them to avoid future problems. So did you rebuild both because they both were leaking and why did you not rebuild the synchro cyl. or do we only fix the one having issues. Roy 2003 Dynasty

City Water and Water fill Transfer Valve
miacasa_2000 replied to brokenarrow1244's topic in Water Systems
I took a different approach when I had that check valve problem. Rather than trying to get up under the panel I just added a tee , a pressure relief valve (blue pipe) and a ball valve . Simple so when using the pump keep valve closed. Roy 2003 Dynasty -
Time to buy some batteries - Looking for input
miacasa_2000 replied to nvrtoofast's topic in Batteries
Deka battery made by East Penn Manufacturing in Pa. A very good company that you can actually talk to with great value and customers at heart. They can tell you who has them in your area and how many they just bought so you can get the freshest set. Two places that I know of nationally that sell them are Nappa and Lowes Roy Mercier 2003 Dynasty -
As can be seen above I installed the larger one KE 1701 BHC in the spring of 2015 so a little over 7 years ago. My coach lives outside un covered and the lock is used everyday multiple times for 6 months and probably once week average the other 6 months. It still looks great and works flawlessly . My original one that failed was the smaller one but it lasted 12 years until like others one or two buttons failed to work all the time. So time will tell how long the newer one last. I can say now having both the larger one is a lot easier to use on your fingers (more area for your finger) and seems to make better contact faster with less push. Roy Mercier 2003 Dynasty

Floor tile And carpet removal
miacasa_2000 replied to 4rickyg's topic in General Motorhome Discussion
You really don't need to get it all out from under if you don't want. Just dig a 1/2" or so out to tuck your wood under. A 4" grinder with a diamond tip tile blade works wonders as one example. Same goes for the carpet cut a little out with your carpet knife and tuck your wood. Roy Mercier 2003 Dynasty -
Norcold 1200LRIM Free
miacasa_2000 replied to miacasa_2000's topic in For Sale: Parts, Components, & Accessories
Sorry been out of touch for a few days anyway as in the title it's a 1200LRIM and I'm in Cape may NJ. Probably too far for you Rich unless you want to visit the Jersey shore. -
My Norcold is being picked up by our bulk trash on June 23rd. I will pull off some of the small parts and keep them for a while if someone needs them. But if you want the doors or the whole thing you need to let me know now. I'm only keeping my wood panels. The unit is in great shape and works fine. Everything is free you only need to pay shipping or arrange a pick up. Roy Mercier 2003 Dynasty miacasa@comcast.net 609.827.7779

Bill D's Monacoers 2022 Gathering Review
miacasa_2000 replied to David Pratt's topic in General Motorhome Discussion
Dave All I can add is a heartfelt thank you to you and all the others that made it happen. I also would like to thank the other Monacoers that attended it was nice to see the faces of people I have spoken to on this site and to make new friends. Roy Mercier Cape May, NJ 2003 Dynasty -
Food for thought. When I replaced all of mine I also replaced all the fittings with DOT approved swivel fittings. Reason being if I needed to replace the ppv again I would not have to take any airlines out of the fittings again and avoid all that goes along with that. I was a little concerned about leaks at the swivel so I checked them often and no leaks. Roy 2003 dynasty

2000 Dynasty Dash replacement
miacasa_2000 replied to rustykramermetalfab's topic in Interior & Exterior Care & Renovations
Rusty, I haven't done the main dash yet first was the radio dash because of new radio and then the side dash because of new park brake. I have a few pics of the material marked out, then cut, then painted. you also can see the radio mounts. I didn't take as many of the side dash. Mikes' deal with custom instruments panels seems awfully nice I must say but I only got about $20 in both my pcs material and paint. Roy 2003 Dynasty -
2000 Dynasty Dash replacement
miacasa_2000 replied to rustykramermetalfab's topic in Interior & Exterior Care & Renovations
Ed Nice job on your wood dash. Rusty I used sign material I got from a local sign shop (actually cheap scraps left over from making signs) Any way it's 1/4" thick 2pcs of aluminum with a rubberish material in between. It's flat and strong yet bendable and you use all your standard wood working tools I even used my router to bevel the outer edge. Roy 2003 Dynasty -
Replaced all my pressure protection valves got them from advanced auto they sell World American brand (American made) well known in the trucking industry for $15 at that price makes no sense to try to fix the gasket. WAKN31000 was a exact replacement for me. Roy 2003 Dynasty

Engine oil testing
miacasa_2000 replied to tcbrow's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
Richard, Do you also have a copy of a report you could share I would like to see the differences. Roy 2003 Dynasty -
Take a step back and start at the beginning. Geny off and on shore power check the outlets if both have power then all the other components ( breaker, gfci, etc, ) are Ok. Which means your inverter is passing the ac on thru fine. Now unplug from shore and make sure inverter is in fact inverting and check again one receptacle should have no power ( fridge ac) the other (ice maker ac ) should . If not check your inverter. If so get a proper tester and check the voltage while inverting thru simple process of elimination you'll get to the problem. Roy 2003 Dynasty

Gary When I first got my coach I didn't realize at first my spray was doing nothing. I took it off the tank and it was caked solid removed cleaned it and tested it. It shoots a lot of water in all directions . Not sure how well it washes the walls it won't reach the whole length of the tank but for sure washes the bottom out well. I also use a clear 45 degree connection between tank and sewer hose and besides now being able to hear it wash I can see it as well. Roy 2003 dynasty

Engine/Trans Temps High Again
miacasa_2000 replied to Gary M's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
I'd look long and hard into that ECM upgrade. Cummins will give you the correct parameters that you can take to a shop and have yours checked and or recalibrated to the proper specs. At least you would know. Roy 2003 Dynasty -
thank you all. As you read in my basic set up it mirrors what Richard provided except my Monaco book said to set charge rate to 100% not 80 % I will change that to 80 but can anyone explain the difference as in. does 100% hurt the batteries or just waste gen running longer for no gain? Also my book never gave any recommendations on the start or stop so thank you. Also besides the question above I guess I have 2 more Ivan you change your settings when plugged in. I use 50 amp when home , campsites , and Fl. wouldn't I just turn the auto start off and not have to reset the settings? Dave I have a load tester that I only used on single batteries so my question is do I treat them as one and test the load all together or do I have to separate them and test them individually ?
