  1. Frank’s rarely wrong BUT my 08 45’ Navigator has the chambers that push on a arm that pull the chains for lifting the tag. Yes, if the chain is adjusted to long, it will not lift the tag. Even the 09 Signature with the uprated 15K hitch has the lifting mechanism BUT you are warned to not use it if you have a heavy trailer connected… you could be overloading the drive axle by 50%. “15,000 Lb. Hitch with Non-Liftable Tag When Tow Vehicle Is Hooked up” Also it has “Rear Tires: 295/80R/22.5 Front Tires: 315/80R/22.” When I first had a tag, I would lift it if I was making multiple turns. Between tires aging out and it not making much difference in turning radius, I haven’t lifted my tags in 15+ years. OK I have to replace the tag tires.
  2. Actually it’s a Type 30 brake chamber.
  3. Previous Owner put a Safe-T-Plus on our 08 Navigator which I removed until I could make it adjustable (change center position) on the fly. Posted about this here: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f258/making-a-safe-t-plus-adjustable-451209.html
  4. Before I would realign a drive axle, assuming it’s what causing it to pull left, and while not a fan of a steering stabilizes; I would add one and adjust so it doesn’t pull left after swapping the front tires, that worked for me when mine started pulled one way. I’m with you although the drive going one way and the tag the opposite could put a pull on the front. While not a fan of steering stabilizers, I would add one and adjust the pull out before spending money on realigning axles. I don’t know anyone who wears their tires out.
  5. My Navigator starts to raise once I get 70 psi so any pump that makes 100 psi is enough for the air leveling system. The $300+ Viair 450 seems to be the replacement many use BUT I can’t find any difference (other than the name) in this $122 one which is rated 200 psi and 100 psi continuous at 23 amps…same as a 450. I actually bought the 2nd one ($110) as I like the dual cylinders which should reduce the vibration and hopefully the noise.
  6. I agree there’s a good possibility that these batteries will fall short of meeting their rated power and even 3000 cycles but I do not need 900AH of batteries and at 60 cycles/year, doubt I’ll make it to 120. At $2/AH (or anything close) it makes them cheaper than AGM, especially if you might need 2000 cycles.
  7. UPDATE: we’ll it was too good to be true… cells never showed up and I missed the deadline to dispute the 280 AH cells but I did dispute the 310AH in time. After some back and forth with Ali I was able to start a chat with their dispute resolution person…Ronnie. Fortunately I had screenshots of some of the delivery info that was fictitious and Ronnie refunded all of my $$ on both sets of batteries that never showed up. Been watching for cells (less than $2/AH) and even completed batteries. The cheaper batteries tend to have to low a amp BMS for the “rated” capacity. Just ordered 3 180AH Varicore batteries for $2.08/AH. While the BMS is only rated 50A in and 100A out, three of them matches my 3012 inverter/charger…150A out and 300A in. I’ll combine these with the 600AH of Lithiums I built a year ago for $2/AH and use my 100A addition charger and 80A of solar to charge them.
  8. Another nice thing about having my rig parked in our house, it takes 30 seconds to get a picture of how it’s mounted on the engine. While you can’t see the short rubber drain on the solenoid, you can see it on the bottom of the white area which us the back of the motor.
  9. Mechanic didn’t put a Denso on my ISX because it didn’t have as many teeth as the Delco on it. Turns out the Denso -4440 was the correct one because the teeth are off center… as posted previously.
  10. NO! RM10H was through 2002 and then (2003) the S-10 chassis started for the Dynasty, Exe, Sig and HR Navigator. Doubt there’s much difference in the RM10H and S-10 as both are Semi-monocoque all s tubular steel construction.
  11. Dynasty and above are on the all steel S-10 chassis.
  12. I think you may have misread my 36’ comment. I haven’t used truck stops for 13 years … only twice recently because the TSD card was finally cheaper. We stay mainly in USFS CGs in our 45’. Yes it’s harder but in 17 years with a 42’ or now 45’ only once have I not been able to find a site close to where I wanted to stay out West in Moab in late September. Went into S Lake Tahoe on Labor Day without reservations and got into our 1st choice public CG. NO, not on Friday… on Monday when the working folks have to go home. Get a 42’ as it’s easier to shrink to 40’ than a 45’.
  13. In 50 years I’ve owned every type of RV made except a toy hauler… hadn’t been invented when I was pulling a trailer. Decades ago I owned a class C for a couple of years and then switch to a 31 foot Airstream… only RV I’ve sold for more than I paid 8 years later. 22 years ago I made the mistake of buying into 36’ is the max for public campgrounds so bought a used 36’ Beaver DP. Took all of 2 years to realize that’s BS so traded for a used 40’ Beaver. 3 years later, once we could start Snowbirding, bought a almost new 04 Dynasty 42’. Great coach and we do 60+ days most summers dry camping out West. Thought we would age out before it but the things we do for our children. Sold it to our son after 14 years and upgraded to a 45’ 08 Navigator three years ago. Have to admit the extra power and higher ceilings are worth the hassle and cost of upgrading. THIS is our LAST Motorhome.
  14. Strange cast iron thing may be part of your DPF. I would figure out how to put a 7” over what you have.
  15. Have you replaced the capacitors? If the issue is the fan not turning fast enough, it’s likely NOT the motor. As the rubber mounts age it lets the side of the squirrel cage blower rub the sheet metal housing. Getting it to move on the shaft can be fun, probably the hardest part in replacing the motor but all that’s need to speed the fan up,
  16. Be happy you have a manual slide…the drive wheels on mine need replaced but fortunately I can still move it. A linear activator will work on a one way slide, but not on a 2 way.
  17. Hopefully you have not ordered new sensors and doubt cleaning will help. One good thing (NOT) about the Aladdin tank monitors is you get good at recalibrating. I tried new sensors without much success on our 04 Dynasty… decided looking at the fresh tank was more accurate and when water backs up in the shower, it’s time to dump the grey. I wish you luck as I gave up. Rest of the system worked well.
  18. It would have been cheaper to use the Silverleaf VMSpc (monitor is a pc on the dash). I went with the more expensive ($950) VMS333 that plays through the existing Kenwood display. Here is my DIY install: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/installing-a-silverleaf-vms333-in-08-navigator-398067.html
  19. The few times we camp when really cold I wrap the bottom vent in plastic. Rest of the time both are open.
  20. 2001 Dynasty has 295/75/22.5 tires so yes there could be a 10 psi difference to a 295/80.
  21. With 85K miles on a 04 42’ Dynasty and now another 25K miles on a 08 Navigator I would wait on adding anything to the S-10 chassis. Adjusted the TRW box on the Dynasty a little at 50K miles. Adjusted the Nav a lot after the first 200 miles… took 2” of slop out of the steering wheel. Rarely can I go across Kansas without holding 40 degrees of crab… one of the reasons I disconnected until I made the Safe-T-Plus adjustable on the fly (previous owner put it on). While not fun, I do not find it that tiring and still do 750+ miles most days.
  22. I would rate a ISM second to only a DD60. The ISL is a good medium size MH engine…possible exception are those built in 06 wit the wrist pin problems. Last would be the 650 ISX, next to last the 600 ISX, and next to next last the 525 ISX.
  23. I personally know of 3 NoColds that have caught on fire while on electric in our 400 unit snowbird park. Fortunately there hasn’t been any in the last couple of years as there’s fewer 1200 today. 2 of the 3 had the recall box installed. Fortunately they happened during the day and neighbors were able to get the fires out before totaling the rigs or spreading to other rigs. Get the ARP unit… what reversion is the NoCold bandaid on?
