FDCA Fan Controller Availability
vito.a replied to JacobA's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
This thread has 21 pages of good information on the hydraulic fan controller. Many of us have abandoned the electronic controller because they are difficult to find and over $1k. And they still fail. I converted ours to a mechanical wax valve and it is working better than ever. Fan stuck wide open - iRV2 Forums Best of luck! -
Drive Shaft Slip Yoke
vito.a replied to burghere66's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
Interesting. We can't see the slip portion of the slip yoke that slips in/out of the transmission. All I see is the blue plug pushing out. I'd use one flat pry bar on each side and push it back in. -
2005 Monaco Executive lights with switches by y

Also check the salesman switch. Someone may have accidently cut the power. -
Search "AZ RV Expert" on YouTube. He shows how to replace the floor without removing the slide. He temporarily screws 2x4s to each side of the slide and then jacks it up so he can access the underside.

AquaHot AHE-100-01S Tank Replacement Procedure

Ben brings up a good point. What can we do with the old boiler tank? -
engine motor fan not working
vito.a replied to Lionel blain's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
Many of us have had the electronic fan control module fail. I purchased and installed a Sauer Danfoss wax valve mechanical fan controller. This thread has a wealth of information on replacing the electronic fan control with a mechanical wax valve: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/fan-stuck-wide-open-376611.html -
AquaHot AHE-100-01S Tank Replacement Procedure
vito.a replied to Patrick's topic in AC, Heating, and Cooling
Great job Pat. This will be invaluable to all of us. Thanks! -
It is routed down through the refrigerator compartment. Mine was burned through behind the refrigerator.

Anything that uses electricity to produce heat uses a lot of electricity. How many watts is your coffee maker? It's probably loading up your inverter enough to drop the voltage below the AGS setting. You probably should check the AGS voltage setting also. Any it will take a few 24/7 days to charge those batteries.

02 Windsor Slide Won’t Close! Help!
vito.a replied to Joe Lee's topic in Chassis, Handling, Tires & Brakes
Is this the drivers side front slide? The slide out lock may be jammed. With the slide extended see if you can push outward on the slide lock stainless lever by hand. If not, you may have to lube it until free. -
To make sure I understand your post, your hydraulic engine cooling fan motor is leaking hydraulic fluid and your hydraulic system is getting low so the power steering is intermittent. Hopefully you did not overheat the engine. When this happened to us, I filled up the hydraulic system and drove to a repair shop. I used an Uber to get to a Walmart and bought several gallons of Valvoline Maxlife synthetic fluid. Ours hold 55 quarts of Dexron III fluid so you can drive a very long way (several hundred miles depending on how bad the leak is). The Maxlife synthetic fluid is way overkill for this application so you could use almost any Dexron fluid. I chose the Maxlife because it has special seal conditioners and reduced the leak. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Valvoline-Maxlife-Dex-Merc-Atuo-Transmission-Fluid-3-1-Gallon-Instore-Service-Item-Only/600835561?from=/search Best of luck! Just checked the 2009 Dynasty Owners manual. Your hydraulic system takes 35 quarts of Texaco Rando HD 46 if equipped with an ISL engine and 55 quarts if equipped with an ISM 500hp engine. Texaco Rando HD 46 is a zinc based hydraulic oil for use in industrial and mobile service. The series is formulated with Group II base oils, in combination with rust and oxidation inhibitors, anti-foam and highly stable anti-wear additives, offering good pump and piston protection.

Volvo Burp Tank Replacement
vito.a replied to CarolR's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
Northwest RV supply has a replacement aluminum tank. It's a little pricey but should last a long time. -
Our 2004 model has a Hendrickson drop center trailer axle. There should be an ID tag in the center. Attached is the service manual. Find the ID number and then you can look up the seal number. But, realistically, you're going to have to remove the old seal and take it in to match it up. Tag Axle doc.pdf

1989 beaver Marquis wax valve
vito.a replied to Sigbert's topic in Engine, Transmission, Engine Cooling, & Hydraulics
It will be in the metal portion of the radiator hose that returns hot coolant to the radiator. -
I recommend removing the loads and the supply current and restart it. 2005 and earlier coaches came with the Trace Freedom inverters. They were purchased by Xantrex and production moved offshore. Xantrex customer support at 1- 800-670- 0707

Replacing Rear roof AC - can I use the old PC Board
vito.a replied to CountryB's topic in AC, Heating, and Cooling
Getting back to Country B's original question. When you have a three A/C coach, you can install the new unit on the front and control it with a new 10 button thermostat. Then move your old front A/C unit to the rear and control it along with the middle A/C unit on your old 5 button thermostat. I know it's extra labor moving an existing unit, but there are really only 4 bolts holding these things down along with a few wires and 2 drain lines. Good luck! -
Mystery Module - Valid MFG Trailer Detection Module
vito.a replied to leadingsx's topic in General Motorhome Discussion
I'm pretty sure John's correct about the 15k towing option. However, to repair you trailer light wiring you need to install a new trailer tail light converter. Your motorhome has separate turn signal and brake lights where as trailers share the brake light and turn signals. So you need to install a new 3 to 2 trailer light converter. They occasionally fail so I would use an inexpensive Curt converter from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/56130-Non-Powered-2-Wire-Taillight-Converter/dp/B0049CI05W/ref=sxin_18_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.749943ff-94bd-4679-8f03-3b5488f65fae%3Aamzn1.sym.749943ff-94bd-4679-8f03-3b5488f65fae&crid=LCI55CQW9A2C&cv_ct_cx=trailer+tail+light+converter&keywords=trailer+tail+light+converter&pd_rd_i=B0049CI05W&pd_rd_r=a706d06c-6b82-414b-bff5-df54b03373fa&pd_rd_w=pdQjr&pd_rd_wg=HNbBr&pf_rd_p=749943ff-94bd-4679-8f03-3b5488f65fae&pf_rd_r=8VV6981TWE4G6AHX738E&qid=1686931133&sprefix=trailer+tail+light+converter%2Caps%2C152&sr=1-1-2b34d040-5c83-4b7f-ba01-15975dfb8828-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&psc=1 -
Make sure you also check your hose reel for leaks if it's in the same compartment. This is a link to the thread I posted on replacing the boiler. If you do the work yourself you can cut the cost in half. And the good news is the Aqua Hot works so much better with the new style boiler. At the bottom is a picture of the old style boiler with the external fresh water copper pipe around the outside of the boiler. You can see the copper pipe near the exhaust port is exposed to outside air and can easily freeze.
-
Because the older Aqua Hot design has the fresh water copper piping wrapped around the outside of the boiler tank. The lower tubing is only an inch from the exhaust port and they develop leaks. Sorry. I just replaced our boiler.
